So from what i've been able to gather so far is that it finally captures 360 audio, however, when exporting from the GoPro app to a monoscopic video format for another editor such as Premiere/AE it strips it and turns the possibility of Ambisonics audio to Stereo… Seems to be when reframing to a 16:9 flat image it will utilise the 6microphones to generate a Stereo sound.
So long story short… it's a 360 camera, which seems to be tailored NOT for 360 video creation and instead point and shoot, fix it in post with reframing for standard flat video. Really hoping there's an update soon to the GoPro studio to let it shine like it possibly could! until then… will wait and see if Insta360 come to play :P
