Decent price for a longer Display Port cable - most of the ones I have seen/used are relatively short (1 - 1.5m). Comes with 36 months manufacturer warranty or however Amazon does it.

  Your note is incorrect.

  My monitor is 3440 X 1440 at 144hz and will not work with any cheap/random displayport cables unless its lower resolution/refresh rate.

  My 5k VR headset is the same story, especially so over longer distances.

  The general idea is that displayport 1.4 will work, but it really depends what brand you are buying, its better to buy something that specifically mentions it will work when at high resolution/refresh rate.

    yep

    there are numerous versions of the display port standard. v1.2 can't do 8k.

    yeh i had good luck with the 5m PCCG branded cable @ 3440 X 1440, 100hz

    was almost certain it wouldnt work after reading all t he horror stories about long cables, but it hasnt missed a beat.
