but yeah they are good quality brollies. i bought mine from the first post in May last year, and they're still going strong.

buy em when you need them, no rush/impulse buys required lols.

Bought these last year also … all 3 are still going great.

  • So this is safe against rain but will succumb to termites? :)

    • +2

I was kinda hoping we could make absinthe out of them! ;)

      • +3

You'd have to turn the umbrella inside out to get wormwood. :)

Nice. Humour, a correction and a chemistry lesson all rolled into one ;)

I'm just glad these aren't the umbrellas of the apocalypse.

  • Ordered one!! Thanks!!

  • I bought these last year also and can vouch for their quality.

As already mentioned this isn't really a "Deal" as this is the normal price on OO. I am voting down this deal also because the quality of these umbrellas is pretty ordinary. You get what you pay for and compared to a good quality golf umbrella these are what I would call exceptionally crap. Out of the 3 purchased in October last year 1 had a hole in it at the top and needed to be replaced straight away which took almost a month to do. The other 2 both have failed with cracked support arms, not sure what they are called.

My advice keep your $30 and add another $15 or so and go to your nearest golf shop and buy 1 quality umbrella that will do the job and last.

    • Sounds like these are well named - whiteanted to the core…

and then.. as with the law of averages.. you go leave your super expensive umbrella on the bus.

i bought these last time and found them to be good enough for the price. Used mine today in wet wet sydney actually! and if i lose it or someone nicks it.. i still have two more to go!

A bargain if you pick one up in the bus.

i am really sick of seeing "you get what you pay" on ozbargain website. it is sort of absurd considering people here are looking for bargains (most of time)

as to the quality of these umbrellas, no comment.

  • Picked up one (well three lol), cheers

    • gash a neg vote?

  • I bought these last time. Quality is pretty poor but I'm not sure you will get 3 umbrellas anywhere else for the price.

  • I bit at this price. Can't go wrong with Three umbrellas at that price, and could really use 1 in each car.

My fiance had her last umbrella inverted in the rain as well as snap, so a new one wouldn't be quite a bad idea.

  • The amount of times I cursed today because my crappy umbrella snapped and tore. hope these are good.

The Tapeworm brand of umbrellas are a lot better from experience

And whilst those are recommended for internal use, attempting to open them often proves fatal.

  • I'm hardly an umbrella aficionado (is there such a thing?). So, these umbrellas. Worth it or not?

    • yep.

    • yes, there are. check out fox and brigg umbrellas.

  • Good deal. ordered

  • Nice price, I've picked these up before when they were last this low, good for the price.

  • Every umbrella I buy seems to either break or end up lost after a few uses, and then it rains again and I just grab the first crappy umbrella I can find — usually a tiny little one at Coles or Woolies for about seven or eight dollars.

These work out to $9 each. Even if they're not that great, I'm paying almost that much already for tiny crappy umbrellas, I may as well get something decent sized. And who knows, they may end up being decent after all.

  • Ordered. Thanks OP.

  • Bugger, I think they are gone :(

  • Got mine today (pickup). They seem pretty solid, better than the $30 one my girlfriend has.

  • I initially read that as "…better than my $30 girlfriend…", and I thought geez these ozbargainers are tight - you really do get what you pay for!

    • There is a joke in there that I will avoid (and Jayphen and his girlfriend might not like it lol)

  • No longer listed on website. :(

  • Well, postage was super fast! The umbrellas seems solid enough (for say $8 ea delivered). The "60-inch" size (150cm) is a bit misleading as the actual diameter, tip-to-tip, is only 130cm. If you measured over the top, following the fabric, then you would get 150cm.

  • Got mine yesterday and open my very first one (blue one) today. Can't say I am totally satisfied with it. Open the umbrella up against the sky and I see quite a number of holes especially on the area where the 'flap' joins the main fabric of the umbrella. One of the hole is at least 2mm. Anyone who brought it has the same quality or it's just my bad luck? I'll not be too concern if it just for the sun but for the rain… I wonder. Well, will need to try it out to see how it hold up against the Melbourne's crazy weather.

    I wonder if I can get a refund…

    • The ones I bought last year didn't have this problem. They're still going strong, no sign of any holes. Definitely contact the seller for a refund/replacement.

    • That's definitely faulty - mine do not have the holes so I believe you should ask for a refund/replacement also.

    • The other 2 umbrella are fine so I just ask for a replacement for the faulty one. They ask me to send the photo of the damage and they send a replacement. Now I have 4 umbrella! I am happy!

  • Great deal, loving mine so far.
