It may be worth referring to the $5 deal for any F&Q's which may have been answered in the comments.


Terms:

Cashback is limited to three transactions per account within the offer period (16/10/19 - 16/11/19). Note however that only one $10 cashback can be earned per Cashrewards account as per the promotional increase below.

** SPECIAL $10 PROMOTIONAL OFFER FROM 1:00PM AEDT OCT 29 to 11:59PM AEDT OCT 31 2019: **

Cashback will increase to $10 during this promotional period. The increased Cashback of $10 is payable only once per member during this period, and counts towards the 3 transaction limit mentioned previously. If you have previously availed of none, one or two $5 offers, then you are eligible. If you have previously availed of three $5 offers, then you are ineligible. Cashback will return to $5 from 01/11/19 to 16/11/19 inclusive.

A minimum spend of $50 in a single transaction is required to be eligible for Cashback.

Ensure you 'Tap' or select 'Credit' at payment. Choosing 'Savings' or 'Cheque' will make the transaction ineligible for Cashback. >Offer is valid at 750+ selected Caltex store locations nationally (valid only at outlet locations listed on Cashrewards). Excludes Fuel Pay.

    • The cashback would go to whoever has linked the MC to their CR account. (Unless you mean you both have CR accounts, and both of you have linked the same MC.) i.e. CR has no way of knowing who used the card - only that someone did, that the MC is linked to a CR account, so that's the account that gets the $10 cashback.

      • Thanks mate. Yes, we both have separate CR account having same card. I purchased fuel in the morning today. Lets see who gets the tracking email.

        • I guess whoever is in the database first then, LOL. One of you should get a Macquarie Bank debit card and get twice the cashbacks/benefits. (It was the easiest online bank sign up I've ever experienced.)

            • @amsaini15: Just the usual. Two people, two bank accounts, two cashrewards accounts = two cashbacks on deals like this. e.g. I'm assuming if you linked that one Mastercard to both your cashrewards accounts, that you only receive one $10 cashback even if you bought two lots of fuel. With 2x of everything you each would have received $10 ($20 total).

              Maybe I'm wrong though - maybe linking the one card to two accounts means you can already get the 2x $10(!?).

  • I know it says it can take up to 14 days for it to be tracked. But i am curious how some people get a tracked email so soon after the purchase yet others, like me still haven't got any tracked email when i bought it last night around 7pm. Does it have to do with your credit card and if the transaction is still pending on our credit card account.

    • seems random. I went last night around 7, 1 acc just a $50 gc, fueled up on the other. The GC tracking email came 2 hours ago but still nothing for the other. Same type credit card.

        • yes, on different accounts. The GC on my husbands CR linked card (tracked), and I fueled up on my own account (nothing yet), different CC's used.

            @MeesusEff: If it's from the same outlet, the only possible explanation is that (1) you've not linked one of the cards, or (2) the cards are from different banks. If this is the case, please allow up to 14 days for the second one to track. Thanks.

            • @tightarse: They are the same type cards, ANZ Black each from our mortgage. His card was added on Aug 12 but mine Oct 17. Both paid the same way - tap and credit option selected.

              Just checked what cards I used to pay and the fuel one was the one that got tracked, not the GC one yet. Same outlet, transactions were one after the other. Strange!

              • @MeesusEff: Let's give it a few days and see what happens. Also, please check your CR acct for the transaction, in case it's actually there, but the tracking email landed in junk/spam folder. Thanks.

                  @tightarse: I know this might be a repeat of discussion prior, but can you confirm whether if you buy a gift card in this promotion it is eligible for the $10 cashback? Just would like confirmation to see whether it is worth trouble before go ahead.

                    My apologies. I've not deliberately ignored the question at all. I'm unfortunately not online 24/7 to respond to every question in real time. As far as the offer goes, you can buy anything at Caltex provided the total charged to your card in the one transaction is $50 or greater. Thank you.

    • I'm on the same boat. No e-mail to confirm tracking from CR since last night

    • I got it tracked instantly… After I paid the $60 bill and came to the car, opened the cashrewards app, shocking it said the payment is tracked. It happened twice so far .. So they are pretty quick.

      But no one know if we'll be given the cash back on time .. haha …

  • I've linked my card but I cannot "Activate" the offer (on the app, website does not have a activate button) - Activating your offer is taking longer than usual, please try again later.

    • If you read through the comments I had this exact same issue. You need to update the app. No need to activate the offer anymore. There should be no button to activate. Just link and spend.

  • My closest Caltex isn't on the list. But they always have the highest fuel price, so I'm not sure I'd ever get to use a deal like this. But is there a reason not all Caltex locations participate? Is there anything we can do to get them on-board?

  • If I buy 3 $50 gift cards on separate transactions but within few minutes of each other. Would they all track? or best to do it over a few days?

    So far i have been using my physical card and it has been tracking.

  • Using Google Pay doesn't automatically work because Google creates a virtual credit card with a different number to the one that you register on CR. You will need to put in a support ticket when you do this (and it will be resolved). But to save the hassle, just use the physical card.

  • Bought $50 Starcash from Caltex this afternoon. No pending until now. how long should we wait for the confirmation? or just transaction didn't track.

  • Registered/linked ANZ card on CR. Paid by Google Pay tap in-store on that card. Servo was on the list, Didn’t get a receipt. It didn’t track or notify me, nil in CR.. Purchased 31Oct. Will this track at some point, or if not I’m stuffed without a receipt?

  • Awaiting anything to come through on CR, I purchased at the eleventh hour to be fair, have also held on to receipt from participating servo.

  • I purchased $51 of fuel at around 7:30pm on 29/10, it only just tracked tonight. However, I only got $5 back, not $10.

    • CR are flaky. Too many bug and f ups. I got $10 pending but today it for some reason changed to $3.50 for f knows why

      • Mine remains at $5, but it should be $10. It is not a click through transaction like the online purchases, so don’t know where we can lodge an enquiry.

  • I filled up my car on 29th October from the station that's on the Caltex list.
    I can see the $10 cashback on my account a few hours later.

    Today, I just checked my Cashrewards account, and saw the cashback is now $3.50 instead of $10

    What's happening here?

    • Happened to me as well. I got a tracking email with $10 but now it only says $3.50 on the website.

  • I can confirm, that the $10 tracked, reasonably quickly, after the purchase. Recieved the email from CR, that the $10 had tracked,

    (I also had the earlier $5 cash rewards from the last posted deal, that I used once during the promotion time.)

          Notably, all my local Woolies appear on this list as Woolworths Caltex (including ones im sure were previously branded as just Woolworths) https://www.caltex.com.au/find-a-caltex - but have also noticed a few that AREN'T on this list.

  • Link my card followed the steps - not tracked, never got it.

    • Give it a few days. Mine came in about 5 days later, albeit the wrong amount.

      • Mine only tracked a couple of days ago - I'd even sent an enquiry about it because it had taken so long.

        But its the wrong amount - $5 rather than $10

  • We submitted an eqnuiry last week about this missing purchase. Just today got a reply the purchase now approved, cashback $10 is in the account. Hope everyone get their cashback.

    • 15 days and no response from a submitted enquiry. Don’t like hit and miss when it’s for $10 and an influenced purchase.

  • @tightarse I made 3 purchases on 29/10 and only the first one was accepted but the other 2 was tracked but rejected. Shouldn't the other 2 be 5 dollars cashback each? No purchase prior to that

  • Purchased a month ago, not tracked, sent an enquiry to CR including screenshot from MC phone app with purchase details. Got this reply; Does this mean a til receipt? Despite them 'looking forward to hearing back' they have not answered my reply. Poor.
