For those who wants an intel processor from the previous post E495, this is a good deal.
The pro going on for this model is that it has a discrete graphics card included as standard (computer wiz will argue that the onboard amd vega units are much better than this one. Let the debate begins) and has a backlit keyboard.

Specs:

*8th Gen Intel Core i5-8265U (4C, 1.6 / 3.9GHz, 6MB)
*AMD Radeon RX 550X 2GB GDDR5
*8GBx1 DDR4-2400 DIMM
*256GB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe NVMe
*Windows 10 Home 64
*1 Year Warranty
*14" FHD (1920x1080) IPS 250nits Anti-glare
*Backlit keyboard

Lastly, if you prefer a bigger screen 15.6" and a full keyboard layout, the E590 will cater your needs with the exact same price & specs. However, the only con is that it doesn't have the AMD Radeon RX 550X as standard.
Regardless, choose your poison quickly as it ends tonight.

  • Make sure you buy with extended/onsite warranty. I got my e490 in July (replacement for e470 which kept breaking for 2 years) and since then Lenovo is about to replace the motherboard for the third time. First motherboard would throttle the CPU/GPU when playing Minecraft, second motherboard kept triggering BSOD and other issues, and now the third motherboard has a ethernet port that doesn't work. They said if the fourth motherboard doesn't work then they'll send me a replacement machine again…!

They are good spec laptops but only if you can deal with issues.

    • You got me worried there. I just bought a reconditioned E590. I probably got one of your machines then LOL. I cant only hope for the best now.

      • How much did you pay for the reconditioned?

  • Is this the best laptop for this price? I’m looking to buy one for my boyfriend who uses it for light gaming but primarily for coding/programming as he’s doing a Information Systems Bachelors.

    • This is definitely the laptop for coding/programming. The keyboard of thinkpads are legendary. He'll be able to type for hours and not feel fatigued by it. For gaming, maybe it's ok for less demanding games. But for newer heavy games, it probably struggle.

      • Is the E590 something you’d recommend over it? Is it just a cheaper GPU?

        • For me, i prefer 15.6" laptops because i like a bigger screen real estate and a full size keyboard. Being it big, it's not portable and slightly heavier too. More cumbersome to move around. Therefore, there are some people who prefer the slightly more compact of a 14". It's all about the users preference. Both computer has the same specs and performance, it's just that the 14" version comes with a dedicated GPU while the 15" is optional (only onboard graphics using intel's 620 graphics) for the same price. So it's up to you to decide in terms of the user experience and for the best bang for your buck per say.

        • If you pay a little more to get the E590 upgraded with the i7, it comes with the RX 550X GPU.

  • +1

This a cheap light business machine why people keep wanting to play games with them? It’s like asking to go off road with a Corolla.

    • Well said. To the point.

  • Don't buy from still waiting 4 weeks for them to ship my laptop from the last deal for for the E490S. Gonna cancel on monday, the expected shipping date was two weeks ago lol.
