Returned home from work yesterday and my 55" 2015 Sony Android TV wouldn't turn on. 6 red flashes, forced factory reset, still 6 red flashes and wouldn't boot.It looks like an expensive repair so I decided to look around for a similar model.
After a quick search I came across this deal, with the 20% off coupon I think it's an amazing price.
I know that this is not a high-end model, but I was happy with my 2015 model for general use in the family room

Nice find, but four years for a tv isn’t good enough. I’ve had my Sony since 2010 and it’s fine. I trust them more than most other brands, but if mine broke after four years I wouldn’t be buying another one.

I agree with you, but I have been very happy with this TV. We have recently moved due to renovations and I don’t think the removalists were very gentle with this tv, so I’m going to give Sony another go :)

We love our Sony, though the SmartTV functions are slowing a little, its a KDL55W900A from 6 years ago.

Same. My 2014 KDL60W850B is still going strong, would go to another Sony when it eventually dies.

Sony TV's are long lasting in general but they are still pieces of technology and some are bound to fail prematurely. His makeing the right choice in buying a new Sony TV, as repair out of pocket will be expensive.

Me and my brother bought the same Samsung 46 inch LCD TV for $3200 in 2006 at the same time, his one broke down after 5 years mine one still going strong after 13 years.

Plot twist: plugged in the “broken” tv last night and…it’s working! Left it on overnight playing youtube videos and there were no issues. Not sure what to do now as I haven’t picked up the new tv yet.

      • Cancel and wait til boxing sales?

        • Thanks for the reply. TV is definitely broken, I got the same error(6 flashes and no picture) again this morning. The bottom side of the tv is very hot. Picked up the new tv, just finished setting it up, UI is faster and picture quality seems to be better than my old Bravia

          • @GregFiona: Get your multimeter out and start testing components for shortage. Then replace shorted part for $1. Brand new again :)
