Superloop NBN and Torrenting

Hi All,

I’ve switched to Superloop from ABB about 2 weeks ago. I now can’t seem to torrent via my snology NAS. Does anyone else have thus issue? When I was with ABB everything was fine.

  • Change the port number on your NAS download station bt settings to a new one. Superloop probably has blocked your current port number to restrict torrenting. Play around with the port number until you find one that works.

You might need to reconfigure your router’s firewall/port forwarding for the new port number used in your NAS.

OP is obviously torrenting Linux distributions.

But I do torrent linux :( and my groupees, humblebundle and other bundle sites :(

Huh? There are genuinely plenty of legitimate uses for torrents? I work with large data files which are distributed via torrents, for example.

    Why did you leave ABB?

They may be a little more expensive but you could torrent OK with them.

I've never had issues with ISP's and torrenting in the last decade, so never felt the need.

        • The problem is that when they decide to go after people, you will be on the list.

There will not be any notice period for you to stop torrenting.

@samfisher5986: Eh, what if's aren't reason enough for me. Historically it all had to go through courts first such as the order to block piratebay, that's notice.

            • @Beanvee: Historically it did go through the courts, but that was using data obtained prior to court.

              There is no notice period.

Is this an actually thing with superloop? Was going to give them a shot but definately not if they want to be my nanny. Looks like abb are still the only ones that aren't bootlickers.

No issues torrenting Linux distributions on PC, most likely issues with OP's Synology settings.
Superloop's CS isn't as responsive though, I signed up from the recent deal, you get what you pay for.
No outage notifications either, you gotta login to Superloop's portal to check it every so often.
I told them ABB have this, they didn't reply LOL

When I tried Superloop a few months ago I was also not impressed by their CS.

  • Yeah my torrents stopped working after being with them for about 2 months or so pretty poor.

    • Yeah me too except it only lasted about 6 weeks at best. Along with the extra charge for static ip which I didn't have before. I am going back to ABB. Superloop can suck it. I can't even do anything with a vpn on so I dunno what magic they are doing 🤷‍♂️

  • My torrents are still working with Superloop.

    • Still working?

      • Still working.

        • hmm. I was ok for the first month but now website and tracker blocked. I try a vpn and I still can't do anything. They are magic lol
