    Lol, 3 metre hose?

    • +3

Long enough to charge your phone… wait what? I thought it was usb type c cable…

    • +3

3 metre is pretty standard even maybe more generous than most. I got a Karcher and it is shorter, needed to buy a new hose to make it longer at $59 additional cost.

      • +7

I don’t think 3 metre is standard, let alone generous.
Cheap pressure washers usually come with a 5m hose, you will need a 8m hose if you don’t want to be moving the pressure washer around when you are washing your car. The cheapest karcher at Bunnings($99) comes with a 4m hose

        • +1

Mine is exactly 3 metres I just measured it. Older model so maybe they are at min 4 metres these days so you are most likely correct there. Either way wasn't long enough and got extension hose for $59. So either 3 or 4 metres you will find it too short dragging it around your car and mud lol

        • 2219PSI $129 Aldi model under 60 days ago had 8m hose.

          Sold out very quickly!
60 day easy return if not suitable!

          • -2

            @INFIDEL: 10 metre is standard.

            • +1

@Dark Zeus: What Standard? Features depend a lot on price point. At $50 you don't get a long pressure hose.

          • @INFIDEL: I got one ….amazed how light it is compared to my lower powered Stihl washer,… So might be plastic pump in aldi.

      • +1

3 metre is pretty standard even maybe more generous than most.

I had a look at the electric high pressure washers Bunnings has for sale. None has less than 4m hose length and 5-6m is typical.

        Homelite 1400W 1450psi - hose length 5m
        Karcher 1400W 1600PSI K2 Basic Plus - hose length 4m
        Ryobi 1800W 2000PSI - hose length 5m
Karcher K2 Full Control - hose length 6m
        Gerni 1400w 1670psi Classic 115.5 - hose length 5m
        Karcher 1400W 1600PSI K2 Plus - hose length 6m
        Gerni 1810psi Classic 125.5 PC - hose length 6m
        Gerni 2300W 2320psi Super 160.3 Works - hose length 12m

        • Are those $50 pressure washers with patio cleaner? This is a cheapie. So need to compare with other cheapies to see what is standard at that price point.

Not surprised they skimped on the pressure hose to bring in at this price. That's pretty standard.
          May suit some uses.

  • +5

    Waiting for Bunnings strike back.
May the force be with you!

    • Couldnt find the Ozito power washer though. Only one that comes is bundled with a vacuum cleaner

  • -1

Would be nice for them to mix things up a bit more. Every year for a number of years they have the same items on sale and predictably Bunnings lowers their prices.

  • What’s the comparable Bunnings mower?

    • Closes would be the Ozito 1500W 360mm Lawn Mower

      • +1

Cool cool cool… hopefully Bunnings reduce their prices.

        • I'm guessing Bunnings didn't?

          • @neil aus: Nope. Furthermore I bought and returned this. It’s a POS and it’s wired. I thought it was battery not AC

    • +3

      Hopefully a 18v ryobi ;)

  • Sweet. Been needing a chainsaw for awhile and a high pressure washer sounds like a good idea too…

    • Okay for light pruning or to carry in the 4wd for emergencies while camping, but don't expect to bringing home firewood with this.

      • Would it be able to cut down an old couch into pieces? Pretty much all I need it for.

  • Can't wait to see what Bunnings does to complete

  • +1

Can use the pressure washer with the Meguiers gold wash?

  • +1

How good is this pressure washer?

    • +2

Good enough, depending on what you need it for :)

    • +1

I wouldn't recommend. Bought last year and lasted me about a month before the motor stopped working. But aldi's returns policy really good so might be worth taking the chance

    • far out i bought this when it was $99 lol, it was the previous model, can't remember the specs but damm half price! thats a bargain!
i use mine to was the car and its been fine so far, just alot of handling to do lol but oh wells

    • +3

      Is that you scomo?

  • Is this lawn mower acceptable? I've been tossing up between a makita and ryobi 18v…

    • +1

at $99 its looks like a better buy than the ozito 1000w one from bunnings
not sure if any difference with the widths

i'll be willing to give it a punt though

    • +1

Most of the electric base models of any brand are ok but not very powerful.

If you regularly trim your lawn you should be fine. If you wait until the grass and weeds are knee height then buy a decent 4 stroke.

    • Cheers for the input guys 👍

  • 2 questions (in regards to High Pressure Washer) if anyone has tried this before:

    • Is is too powerful for washing car?
    • Can this be used (suitable) to wash carpets/rugs etc?

    Cheers

    • +2

Mine is 1800 psi and no issues with the pressure on my car paint job. Maybe just don't be lazy by spraying like 2 centimetres away from the paint to clean bird crap

    • +2

I have a very basic GMC I bought 10 years ago or more, and I have been able to damage the paint on plastic bumpers. I wouldn't do this. I don't think using a pressure washer is really recommended for washing cars, even though you see heaps of people do it.

  • any feedback on how electric lawn mowers are over for lawn mowing compared to the battery ones as i got the battery one from Aldi and with the size of my lawn needs 3 recharges to do the front and back yard. Will it be easier to use an electric one instead ?

    • +5

May as well go petrol with that much lawn. The power lead for an electric mower would be a right pain in the grass.

    • Cables suck on a lawn mower. Just buy more batteries ( the 4ah ones )

Would never go back to a petrol mower, its just not worth the faffing about. I have the same ALDI battery mower as you.

I have about 800m2 of lawn on a slope, 2 sets of batteries is more than enough to get through it all.

    • +4

if electric, only go battery, as others have said the cord can be a pain,
and as someone who has mown a large yard with a 20m extension cord for a few seasons, it is a right pain in the A.
Making sure you do not run over it, plus having to move it and swing the cord out of the way, catches on grass and any other obstacle.
Even if you set yourself up so the cord trails to one side, you still need to be careful and continually move it.
      Its just not worth it.

  • -2

That mower wont last long past its warranty

  • +1

Anyone know if there's a pole pruner in this year's sale?

  • One day they'll bring back the awesome scarifier. I'll buy 20 of them.

  • How long does it take for Aldi to reduce the price of its stock if things aren't selling?

I have my eye on their push mower (no motor), but don't really want to pay $90 for it

    • +2

It varies from store to store. Some store reduces in a 2 week cycle, other never reduce. Some send them to other stores or hold in the backroom until 'Boxing Day' Sale.

    • +1

Decision of the District Manager (each of small number of stores).

    • +1

push mower was advertised for $69 not 90. and i didnt see many around in store so perhaps sold out quick

      • Hmmm, I thought it said 89, might have to go get one then

      • I picked one up at my local. Works better than I expected, but as good as I hoped. Definitely better for maintaining a short lawn than cutting one that's gotten too long though

    • +1

I asked one of the staff in store when I was waiting for the torque wrench to go onto sale, and he said it's up to the head office but usually 5 weeks. And the torque wrench did go onto clearance after exactly 5 weeks to the day.

      • how much you end up getting the torque wrench for?

        • +1

40% off ($17.99) but I've seen people posting 50% off in another ALDI.

  • Are these on sale already ? or happening in 10 days time ?

  • Whats the warranty on the pressure washer?

    • Catalogue mentions 3 years.

  • So reasons for not getting this (based on comments on previous washers)

    1) 3m hose too short - 8m recommended, min 5m, otherwise it will be PITA for washing cars
    2) The estimates on the PSI, motor watt rating and flow do not follow through if calculated. Bit of grey and dodgy compared to others like Ryobi who clearly define their parameter.

    Reasons to get this

    1) Cheap (50 compared to 100 Ryobi)
    2) This has 3 year warranty (Ryobi website says 5 years, but apparently its 2 with +2 on product registration).

Other thoughts, wheels might be useful too.

    • Interesting about the Ryobi comment you made. I recently had to purchase a new washer since my Karcher packed it in after many years. I bought a K2 and considered the '2000 PSI' Ryobi that was available. I read some reviews which did no put it favourably and the comments that stood out most to me where that they felt there was no way this was '2000 PSI'. :)

  • Would the pressure washer be safe on decking?

    • As it comes with a Deck and Patio cleaner…I would assume so

  • +1

Anyone can provide feedback about the chainsaw?

  • cant wait, water pressure here i come

  • Are they on sale in aldi stores already ? or is this for next week ?

    • Starting 16th November

      • thank you

  • +2

Bunnings reduced price of 1400W HomeLite pressure cleaner from $48 to $40

    1400W motor delivering 1450PSI (100 bar)
5m high pressure hose with an adjustable lance extension
    6.5L/min water flow rate
    0.35L detergent spray bottle

    No patio cleaner

    • I bought one of the homelites a while back and returned it. The pressure was really low, not much more that sticking a finger over the end of a hose. It couldn't even get the dirt off my patio

Previously I had a masters home brand one which was heaps better (but died)

  • Returned higher pressure cleaner to Aldi from last sale.

Faulty parts - a plastic part shot out of a nozzle first use, patio cleaner kept stopping rotating - leaving 2 marks on concrete.

Couldn't imagine using 3m pressure hose after the 8m on that unit.

  • +1

Note: Aldi advertise MAXIMUM pressure & flow rates of cleaners (1523psi), not the usual lower working pressure / flow rate, given for pressure cleaners!!

Something to take into consideration when comparing with other cleaners & your requirement.

For example, Specs for previous 2219PSI $129 Aldi model:

    Adverised:
    Max permissible pressure 2219PSI
    Max Working flow rate 8L/min
    BUT… In manual:
    Rated/operating pressure 1479PSI
    Working flow rate 5.5L/min
That's a big difference in actual use specs.

    • So if this one is
      Maximum working pressure: 10.5MPa (1523psi/105bar)
      3m high pressure hose
      Max. flow rate: 6.2L/min
      Auto start/stop function
      Power: 1400W
Includes: 1 x spray gun with adjustable nozzle, 1 x 5m cable, 1 x 3m water outlet hose, 1 x soap bottle, 1 x cable hook and accessories storage, 1 x deck and patio cleaner, 1 x water screw inlet and 1 x reliable aluminium pump and stable spray gun connecting system

What would be the operating pressure rated 1000psi??

      • +1

        That's it.
Specs will be in manual in the box - available tomorrow morning😉
Operating pressure will certainly be much less than 1523psi!

In previous model, Operating pressure was 1479÷2219 = 67% of max pressure. Similarly for operating flow rate,

So 1000psi is about expected Operating pressure of this unit. Expected operating flow rate should be around 4.2L/m

That's a low Operating pressure & flow rate for a washer.

  • +1

Far everyone was lining up in front of Aldi before it opened at 8:30am this morning, all rushing in like it was black friday.

Managed to get one, tested it works pretty well. Not as good as a gerni 115.5. Pressure not that strong but will do the job

and for a third of the price am not complaining

    • +1

Could you post the Operating pressure - shown in the manual.

Will be interesting to see the difference between the advertised Max & generally stated Operating pressures.

Queues depend on store & demand for specials. In last deal, got the cleaner at quiet store @0830. No queues, fresh stock brought out.

      Enjoy the cleaning😉

      • Hi infidel,

        Rated/operating pressure: 7MPa/1015psi
        Weight: 6kg
        Max inflow pressure: 0.4MPa / 580PSI
        Inflow temp: 5-40c
        Water Working flow rate: 5L/min

We were correct calculating ~ 67% of max pressure Aldi advertises :)

Its not as strong as the $129 Aldi one
But at $50 does the job pretty well

I tested it on concert, brick wall, windows, decking, washed pretty much everything off

I particular liked the 6kg weight can carry it around easy

        • Yes - light weight is an advantage. No metal pump to weigh it down😉
Previous $129 Aldi model weighed 9.5kg.

But with much shorter pressure hose - it may require moving a lot more. With cleaning the driveway, I could place the previous Aldi cleaner 1/2 way & use the 8m hose to reach all of drive.

          At a cheap price.

And now we know how to interpret Aldi's overly optimistic pressures & flows!
          Thanks for confirming👍

  • +1

Very pleased with the pressure washer. Used it for over 5 hrs straight from the box to wash down all the drives and paths around the home.

Not the greatest of pressures for really stubborn marks but for the money and the 3 year warranty it will certainly do for washing cars, windows and paths around the house.

    • My concrete hadn't been washed in years. Used the previous stronger cleaner. Did a good job.

Using one of these could keep it looking good if used more regularly than a higher pressure cleaner, at a lower price.

  • 10 on display today at my local Aldi in Brisbane.

  • I find the hose is pretty small. Any suggestions where to buy a longer hose.
Unfortunately, I only have one plug in alfresco and hence can't take it far. Don't want to use extension cables around water…
