  • This might be a better deal than the newly release Xiaomi Note 10

  • Gst in price?

    • Yes

  • Hi adr8,
Is my math correct based on your steps?
    1. 269.99 (11.11 Price) - 30 (BIGSALE11) = 239.99
    2. 239.99 - 18 (6 every 65) = 221.99
    3. 221.99 - 3 (seller coupon) = 218.99

    Plus GST 218.99 + 26.999 = 245.99 —> Final

    • +1

I think he factored in GST

      • Just noticed that and updated my calculation

        • what is the 6 in 65 coupon?

    • $269.99 - $30 - $6 - $3 = $230.99 + GST $23.99 = $254.98.

Select coupon is only applied once, so $6 in total.

      • +1

So how does the item image say selected coupons equal $24?
After comparing with other items with different prices listing, my understanding is $6 off every $65 spent. So 269.99/65 ~ 4 times, therefore we got $24 off selected coupons.
Is that not how it works?
I also believe GST is 10% of the original price.

        • Looks like your correct, will update OP thanks! Pretty sure GST is added to discounted price, so will leave that as is for now.

    • -2

gst should be based on the price before discount code

      • +1

why? GST is a tax on the actual price paid.

        • -1

I guess it is similar with buying from eBay stores with 20% off code.

Pay at 20%off but on the tax invoice it still shows price before discount.

          • @tc423: so they're charging you for GST tax that they don't pay. Sounds like the customer or the tax department or both are being ripped off.

            • @Phoebus: Mi9T Pro comes to ~ $432 according to above calculations. What do you guys think of that deal?
              337-30-30-3 = 274 +27.5(gst) = 301.5

    X Card slot

    • +5

Such a shame, card slot kills it. Carry all my media with me

      • Same - it was SO CLOSE!!

      • +1

        But why?

    • +10

No Card Slot is significantly offset by the 128Gb included storage.
Plus with big data allowances these days, the requirement for on-phone storage is, if anything, reducing.

Movies and Music are now streamed, Photos and videos can be automatically backed up to the cloud.
What do you need storage for?
I have a 128Gb SD card that is barely touche and ample spare internal storage capacity to ditch the SD card entirely.

      • +4

I think with pictures and videos getting higher res and more complicated ("live" photos for example) you're gonna be running out of space and your 5gb of cloud storage quicker and quicker.

With my SD card I've effectively doubled my on board storage - I can take videos/photos directly to the card.

        • -6

People still use sd cards? lol
Except the fact that they are slow they are UNRELIABLE and also you can lose them, break them etc

It's not smart to not upload photos and videos to cloud where they are SAFE and ACCESSIBLE from ANYWHERE, ANYTIME.

          • +3

            @nikoris:

People still use sd cards? lol

            Yep. A lot of people.

Except the fact that they are slow they are UNRELIABLE and also you can lose them, break them etc

Not slow, not unreliable at all - how can I lose something that sits in my phone?

Cloud storage means keeping your files on someone elses computer. That someone else can close your account at anytime if you violate their terms of use. Maybe the company might one day go out of business (I know, Google and Microsoft it might seem unlikely) but hey, 50 years from now, who knows if your photo's will still be "safe" in the cloud?

            • -1

@Andard: Sd card users in smartphones is niche market these days.

            • @Andard:

              Yep. A lot of people.

It's those kind of people that are worried about what gonna happen in 50 years.

              Not slow

              much slower than internal storage

              not unreliable at all

it's literally the most unreliable thing to store data.

how can I lose something that sits in my phone?

By transferring it to another phone, by upgrading it etc

Cloud storage means keeping your files on someone elses computer.

It's a cluster of computers mate.

That someone else can close your account at anytime if you violate their terms of use.

So you really think that its more possible for Google to shut down than your sd card going bad? And why would you violate their terms o_O

but hey, 50 years from now, who knows if your photo's will still be "safe" in the cloud?

Yeah, why use something now, when in 50 years you might use something else. Cant argue with that logic.

              • +1

                @nikoris:

It's those kind of people that are worried about what gonna happen in 50 years.

yeah fck planning for the future right???

                much slower than internal storage

                Source on this?

From Wikipedia: "The Secure Digital Ultra Capacity (SDUC) format, described in the SD 7.0 specification, and announced in June 2018, supports cards up to 128 TiB (140737488355328 bytes) and offers speeds up to 985 MB/s, regardless of form factor"

Try taking photo's/videos directly to the cloud lol

it's literally the most unreliable thing to store data.

Cool, care to back that up with a source?

It's a cluster of computers mate.

And? Does that make the statement "someone elses computer" any less true? Would you prefer "someone elses computer(s)" ?

By transferring it to another phone, by upgrading it etc

I've transferred and upgraded and never lost/broken a card.

So you really think that its more possible for Google to shut down than your sd card going bad? And why would you violate their terms o_O

Try sharing some copyrighted material to someone from your cloud.

Dropbox creates a hash of all the files you upload. When you share them it compares the hash with a list generated from DCMA requests from copyright holders (like Disney or Universal).

Yeah, why use something now, when in 50 years you might use something else. Cant argue with that logic.

Something else like an SD card right?

Your whole argument is that the cloud is more reliable than sd cards. You know.. never mind the privacy controversies or the accidental data loss. Oh and the data breaches (the Fappening was literally a icloud photo data breach, which I'm pretty sure Apple just responded with oh all good, it was targeted). Reliable as fck!

      • +1

I used to be an SD card wanter. But since I stopped owning music and just using Spotify, and being happy to let Google Photos upload "free quota" quality, I've accepted the non-SD lifestyle.

      • i like throwing my music on a sd card, but honestly i could just throw it on the phone instead lol. my phone and sd card are 64gb combined and i barely use that now so i think 128gb internal might be enough for me.

      • I must admit, I've slipped into the more internal storage, no SD camp recently.

Too many apps refuse to allow themselves or their data to be moved to an internally mounted SD card, the main phone storage was getting full anyways.

Also, I seem to have had a really bad run of large, brand name SDs - especially Samsung EVOs - dying on me by falling into some weird un-mountable, un-formattable state. (I've seen some posts on various pages saying that sticking them in the freezer for a bit resurrects them temporarily :| )

    • +4

No IR blaster either! I don't care if I'm old gosh-darnit, I like having a universal remote on me at all times!

      • +5

IR blaster on my Note 3 awesome when kids hide my remote. It's just so useful at the doctors and public places :). Not just TV but also the fans too.

        • Rocking my old mi 5s plus with IR blaster. Even turns my AC on.

    • There's the Mi 9 lite… CPU/GPU different though

    • And a physical fingerprint sensor on the back. Those two would have sealed the deal for me.

  • Ooh. Been waiting for a deal like this.

  • +2

Hmm with 5% shopback it comes down to $352. And there's a chance they might run a 20% cashback like they've done in previous years.

    • Last year cash back 20% started 19 hours before 11.11 sales start. So I guess we can only have either 20% cash back or apply all these coupons/codes, not both.

      • Yeah, hopefully the 5% is compatible at least. Regardless, it's a nutty deal. I wonder how much the mi 9t pro would be…

        • I hope that too because I am planning to order a phone.
However, shopback normally states that any coupons that not collected from shopback will disqualify the cash back.
Therefore it is a bit hard to decide should I go for 20% (if there is) or wait for these discounts to maximise the saving.
They don't want to make our lives easier!

  • +4

Incredible deal. I paid $464 for this phone and am loving it so far.

    • Same. Next time I buy a Xiaomi I will wait a few months for a price drop like this before putting the money down

      • Yeah the Pocophone dropped in price quickly. In saying that this is an amazing price.

  • I’m really tempted! Any recommendations for a case?

    • It comes with a case in the box, it a bit cheap but fine

      • Yeah the includ e poly carbonate case is what I use. It's clean enough.

    • I got this one: https://www.spigenstore.com.au/spigen-xiaomi-mi-9t-rugged-ar…

Almost certain to find it cheaper through eBay/Catch etc. I found the one that came with it didn't stick past the edge of the phone enough so I didn't feel like it would protect anything if I dropped it. Have always liked Spigen in the past and this one looks and feels great so far.

  • Knowing how slow most AliExpress sellers are with shipping, what are the chances of receiving this phone this side of Christmas?

    • Either pay extra USD18 for DHL or take your chances. Waiting is a part of AliExpress.

  • -1

    I won't trust aliexpress anymore

    • +1

      Why and what happened?

  • No polyphonic ring tones, NO DEAL!!!

  • +1

Would this be a worthwhile upgrade from the google pixel 2xl?

    • you're going to miss stock android IMO

      • +1

I guess whats important for me is camera and battery mostly

        • i thought the same, but now using the 9T for the last 2-3wks i'm really missing stock android

          • +1

@daft009: Don't you just use pixel launcher and it's practically the same….?

        • How is the camera of 9T?

  • Great price, hopefully we get some good Mi 9 Lite deals too!

  • So this phone has a better camera than Pixel 2 and 3…that's impressive lol

  • -4

All happy days until your phone stops working and needs warranty…

    • But you +voted

      Hashtag Conflicted

    • Then you buy another one, at a cheaper price or improved specs. At this price you can just buy a replacement if the unfortunate were to happen and still be cheaper than one with warranty.

  • This better than a Pixel 2?

    • I'll do you one better.. Its better than the Pixel 3.

I would say it is way better than the Pixel 4XL except for the camera and if you really care for that motion sense gimmick.

FYI: I have been using a Pixel 3 as my daily driver for the past 4 months and I think it is overpriced hipster crap. Only saving grace is the camera. I will be switching soon. Very soon.

  • it says sale starts 11 nov 12:00 am, is that australian time or? USA time?

    • +1

      12:00am PT so 7:00pm AEDT.

      • 7pm on Nov 11 (monday) here?

        • +1

          Yes

  • I dont know much about phones (and dont do anything crazy other than calling and photos) how does this compare with umidigi power 3

    • Umidigi isn't exactly a trusted brand imo unlike Xiaomi. The specs might look good on the Umidigi, but I'd be suspect about software updates and camera performance. Furthermore it uses a mediatek processor, which I'm not a fan of.

Basically, get the mi 9T. This is a great deal, and I'd jump on it if you are looking for a new phone.

      • thanks

  • +1

word of advise guys, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. i never get my order. contact them and they said been delivered. money gone. nothing you can do because they are oversea

    • +3

Who do you mean by ‘them’?
If it’s Aliexpress, then that’s like complaining that eBay stole your money.
This is the official Xiaomi Aliexpress store. You’re pretty damn safe buying from them.

      • Xiaomi don't have an official AliExpress store. It's just a store name. Some sellers are decent others aren't. Similar to eBay.

    • Same exact store? xiaomi mc store? They seem to have good reviews on aliexpress tho?

  • Demo'd this phone today at JB HiFi (it's $699). Sounds great with headphones, has dark mode, will get Android 10 soon and just about to get MiUI 11 although MiUI 10 was kinda cool and as for stock Android I don't miss it having come from Pixel 2XL to LG V30. That said, time to switch from my LG V30. $340 is a no brainer.

    • Reason for switch??

      • I turn over phones roughly once a year. V30 is a great phone though.

        • This is a side-step?

  • I don't suppose the coupon would work on Mi 9T Pro version?

    • +1

Coupon BIGSALE11 works sitewide, it's $30 off $120 USD so should work on Mi 9T Pro.

Full list of all coupons are here & here

      • You can put up the link for Mi9T Pro from official xiaomi store which will give the $6 off $65 making the price $302.

        • Updated this deal to include Mi 9T Pro.

  • Has anyone had experience on how long delivery takes from this seller?

  • +1

Been holding out for a good pixel 3 xl deal but might just have to pick the 9T Pro at that price!

  • f

  • silly question, i can use the 9t pro in oz yea?

  • Nice one

  • The pro version doesn't seem to be worth it. No extra ram in this version.

    • +1

Yeah, as in what are you going to do that it matters it has no more ram, flying space shuttle to the moon maybe. 6BG is plenty enough, pro has other advantages over 9t, hence why it is more expensive.

      • Apart from the faster chipset, almost the same camera sensor with 60fps 4k, almost the same gps, and slightly faster charging, slightly better focus? (am I missing anything) is that worth a 40% increase in price? At least the k20 pro has more ram.

        • That's about it. I think it mainly matters for longevity in my opinion, say if you wanted to keep the phone for 4 years+ maybe. But chipsets are so powerful nowadays that you would probably be fine with the 730 for a while anyhow, unless you are looking to play the latest and greatest games a few years from now. In my mind, not worth the upsell.

        • RAM on itself is not the reason to complain. 6GB is plenty for both. As for differences, some will justify the price difference, some will not.

        • The pro has a lot more custom rom support on XDA, which is a pity because the non-pro is much better value.

          • @xmail: Hmmm, this surprises me! Makes my decision harder!

  • Does this price include GST? Currently pre coupons we are looking at ~580aud for the pro 128gb. So the coupons will add up to $100?

  • Does anyone know if this will get stopped at customs?

    • Yes of course. That's why it's on Ozbargain for everyone to buy it and customs to stop it. We ozbargainers love to give a headache to customs.

    • It won't be stopped at customs unless the value is greater than $1,000. When the item value is greater than $1,000 GST is charged by customs, if the value is less than $1,000 the seller charges GST.
