  • I got a XA2 can't fault it for 249 is a good price .

    • Have you tried installing Sailfish OS?

      • Na mate just use it for phone call and browsing the net . Not very technical .

  • not much stock available

    • Northern Sydney has Hornsby, Chatswood (Chase) and Artarmon (as well as delivery), for the XA2 at least.
Not sure stock levels in Melbourne, but in Sydney there's still a couple.
Says "in stock" for others so I'm assuming there's more stores to choose from there.

      • No XA2 stock in Melbourne it seems

        • Isn't delivery only $4.99 extra (if available)?

Update: Bathurst and Lake Haven (Central Coast) are the only stores with stock outside Sydney it seems.
Pilot tested all major cities in Australia.

  • Just wondering if anyone able to update to latest android?

    • Just recently got update to Pie . Gonna be a long wait to get the latest Android .

  • It seems XA1 has issue with touchscreen

    • Only after the latest update . It's annoying sometimes but not a deal breaker for me .

  • Don't waste money on Xperia XZ, slow and over heating. Other than that it is a ok full feature phone.

    • Must be a software issue. I still use the XZ at times, 8.0, no problems like that.
The SoC is still quite respectable. Whether is is still worth $299 depends on your needs and what alternatives there are.
      I like the full waterproofing.

      • at times

I just had a vision of your walking into your batman-esque wardrobe and selecting your XZ from a glass case of 10 phones

        • Is ten too many?

Yes, I have a problem :-) The Windows and Linux phones don't get much use though.

    • Yep, I've used it for a couple of years and for the last 8 months I've been desperately trying to get out of my contract. Heats up and the whole thing freezes up, lag can be massive.
      Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Just read that the XZ still uses the snapdragon 820, I had the z5 and there is no excuse for them doing that, when they implemented it in the z5 it was an overheating POS. Used that phone for 3 years, but what a pain for a flagship it's unacceptable. I guess that's why they are shutting up shop

The chipset used in XZ5 is snapdragon 810 octa core which has overheating issues.. XZ Is successor to the XZ5 that has snapdragon 820 quad core chipset.. The phone is received with good reviews.. In Australia, there is no demand for Sony’s phones as they were used to.. that’s why they are no longer selling new phones here.. Instead they are focusing on markets where people are interested in their premium devices..

      • Ah my bad, thought it was the 820 in the z5, but you are absolutely right was the 810.

I think it's just Sony excuses, if there's a market in the world happy to pay for premium it's here, been that way for decades. They just can't compete is the problem.
