Great offer. Thanks OP. There are a host of movies coming out in the holidays. This discounted gift card will help. Thank you very much

    Thank you 👍

  • +2

    Got 2 thanks op

  • noob question here but can this be used for Gold Class?

    • +1

      Yup

      • Ah interesting… i saw GC has its own gift cards. thanks!

        • Those are just a normal gift card that says “Gold Class” as a Jedi mind trick to make them want to use it for that rather than a regular ticket,

  • Hmmm tempting, it works out to be $1 more expensive per ticket than https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/493203. However you don't have to buy 10 and aren't restricted after 5pm on Fri/Sat

    • Depends on your local price too. Ours had $10 tickets last time I checked, which would make this deal $1 less per ticket

      • Oh I don't even know where to check for that, I was just looking at Telstra prices. I guess login to cinebuzz and there is an offers tab or something?

        • Ahh just found it, but you have to pay a $1.5 booking fee per ticket. Which makes it $9.4 per ticket, unless there is a way around this booking fee?

          • +3

@knobbs: Yep. No booking fee when bought in person

            • +3

@haydent: Ok sweet thanks. I still don't understand how they charge the booking fee. Logically it would cost money to have people there and processing your ticket. Whereas if you do it online it saves them salary $$ but we pay more for it???

              • @knobbs: I think you pay for the convenience.

                • @Eeples: I find it more convenient to pay at the movies than online. The only reason I ever book online is to reserve a seat that is a popular movie just out or usually because it is cheaper.

            • @haydent: I usually buy through Telstra do don't get charged booking fee. But now my cinema has $8 tickets Sunday after 5 so think I will use this card in person.

    • +1

I just went in to see if you could pay for that deal with a gift card (from this deal). Unfortunately not. That would have been all time: 10 tickets + $20 gift card balance for $80

      • was wondering about that, thanks for checking

  • Would Officeworks pricematch work on these?

    • Have you tried?

  • +1

Hrmm, reckon it can be combined with the Telstra Rewards discounted tickets?

    • +7

Yes actually. The telstra portal takes you through to Event Cinemas website for purchase so fine for gift cards

      • Awesome. A discount stacked on a discount. Ozbargain style

      • So this can effectively be used in Victoria & TAS as well

      • +1 here

I've been doing that for years now…

(paying for tickets via Telstra Rewards with discounted Event giftcards - I usually keep a good stock of the cards due to family)

      • Do Telstra tickets have the $1.5 booking fee?

        • +1

          No

  • +1

Waiting for the usual Amex event cinema Xmas offer 🙏

    • Somehow i doubt this will come :( a lot haven't. even the usual HN etc…

  • Works in W.A. too.

  • Nice my local GC tickets are $23.50 Mon-fri before 5 Nice stack with this discount 😁

    • Wow how so cheap? Mine is $30 before 5 and $42 after.

      • +1

I've noticed its all mostly different pricing per cinemas, in Brisbane if they're closer to the city the cost seems to be more expensive due to rent etc.

    • Mine didn't mention the competition in the email?

  • 20%….oh no bought 20 tickets via Telstra promo 2 weeks ago.

I think you can use these to save on online booking fees and upgrades to vmax/3D on those tickets if that helps!

  • These are just normal gift cards right? I’m so used to every event cinema offer coming with 300 terms and conditions like “before 5pm, excluding weekends and not valid on days ending with Y” I don’t trust them any more.

    • Aren't you referring to ticket vouchers? These are just credit. I'll say the highlight is

Only valid for use at Event Cinemas, BCC, GU Film House, Greater Union, Moonlight and Skyline Drive In or online at eventcinemas.com.au Movie Gift Cards are not available for use at Village Cinemas. Gift Cards will expire 15.DEC.2022. Not valid for use in Victoria / Tasmania.

      • I'm referring to any offers from Event Cinemas! They have so many terms and conditions attached to them I don't trust them any more!

  • "card has not been sold" still. like i know it says wait 24 hours but it's been like 22 hours now, this shits a bit stupid. Digital gift card should work instantly imo.

  • If u buy tix online although there is a booking fee…. Don't u get 25 bonus points. Every movie u book gets 100 points plus 25 points if booked online.25 points Which works out to be $6 for 100 points. Compared to $13 for 100 points

    • Except you don't get to watch a movie. Extra $7 for a movie would be better.

  • Anyone got theirs in the mail yet?

I think you can buy popcorn and choctops and frozen cokes etc with these cards (as well as tickets)…. it would be a waste though, or course.

    • Arrived today.
