  • 3%…. If 2% I won't buy 4%im buying a lot. 3% Amazon played well

Is there any difference whatsoever between 'Uber' and 'Uber Eats' gift cards?

    • Nope.

      • So I can get a lift somewhere and pay with 'Uber Eats' gift cards? Even if I'm not a burger?

        • +2

Food and drinks including burgers not allowed onboard uber rides.
Do not ride as a 'burger'.

          seriously:
          - you can use uber gift cards to add to your wallet and uber rides can use that same wallet for your rides.

        • Even if I'm not a burger?

          Hamburgler, maybe.

Has there been 20% off uber/doordash anywhere recently? Or is this as good as it gets?

    • Costco

Just for doordash or uber too?

        • Just doordash

Thanks OP. Used 'Category Choice Pets & Vets' to pay for private health insurance premium for a couple of months. (MCC 6300)

    • You can pay private health insurance for yourself with Pets &Vets gift card?

    • +1

      shhhhh

    • Does it work with Medibank?

      • +3

I can't say for sure, only HCF and Bupa were confirmed by the community. To find out the merchant code I use a TCN gift card to make a payment (which will fail), like TCN restaurant or TCN pamper, then check the android app for the failed transaction which displays the merchant code (6300).

Even once you know the merchant code/have confirmation, it's safer to buy a small gift card, enough for 1 day payment or similar and make sure it goes through, before committing to a large gift card to pay for months in advance.

        • Legend

        • were u able to make one-off payment with bupa?
mine not allowed from long time ago, only direct debit.

          • @test8888: I pay every month via one off payment yeah, I don't have any direct debit. Maybe it is different for new users?

You just can't choose how much you pay, just the amount of days you want to pay.

            https://my.bupa.com.au/payment

            Direct debit
            Status: Not set up

            I want to
            Set up direct debit
            Make a one-off payment

        • @hamza23

how do you make an online payment with these cards? just type in the number?

and then how do you check the code if you can only pay online?

          • @zooter: Just type in the cc #, expiry and cvc.

Security code? There was none in my case.

            • @hamza23: you also mention checking the mcc code in android app? You mean your health insurance app?

              • +1

@zooter: Ah. Nope, The Card Network App. For this bit:

To find out the merchant code I use a TCN gift card to make a payment (which will fail), like TCN restaurant or TCN pamper, then check the android app for the failed transaction which displays the merchant code (6300).

You need a TCN gift card of some sort to do that.

I just did that to make sure the merchant had code 6300, although others have confirmed Bupa, Medibank and HCF so far.

                • @hamza23: Thanks the tcn app is a bit iffy but I can confirm AHM also returns 6300 code

Just wondering if I should do a test on behalf of OzB for a small amount…is there any Danger that AHM might reverse the payment at some point and ask me to pay again? I don't want to get into an issue there

                  • @zooter: Personally I would do a small amount first anyway, just because the merchant code is correct doesn't mean there isn't something else blocking it or could go wrong and you are stuck with a big gift card for a small % profit.

I don't see why AHM would know/care where the payment came from, it's just a credit card.

                    • @hamza23: Ok confirmed it works…I took a bit of a loss though… bought one day of cover for $9.60 and then realised that with credit card charges I need to have $9.62 to make the payment… stupid really I should I have bought $10 to be safe

Anyways bought another card for $9.62 and confirmed it works

@WookieMonster you can update the wiki

And if anyone is reading this thread and can use $9.60 vet card somewhere let me know I can give it to them

Or if anyone has any ideas where I can use this $9.60 without any pets open to hearing

      • If you find out please report back 🫡 @dumdum

      • +1

Yes, I just used two gift cards.

  • Any of the choice categories used for electricity, council bill payment ? Any suggestions

    • +1

technically there is a way to churn the groceries choice gcs into prepaid EFTPOS, visa and mastercard and then you can pay your bills but without promos you'll be making a loss so answer is no atm

  • @Hiphopopotamus can this used for any online payment or council bills ? Thank you

    • I don't think so.

It also depends on the payment gateway, my council rates used accept vanilla prepaid Visa but they made changes ~a year ago and no longer do.

  • Any of these can be used in Coles?

    • yes

      • which one?

        • +2

          Category Choice Groceries

  • You must use the $5 promotional credit towards any future eligible purchase by 11:59PM (AEST) on 31 May 2026

    Careful with HelloFresh gift cards.

They are highly "non stackable" - and can't be used with any other discounts. They are not worth their face value.

    • What other discounts are there?

    • Thought these gift cards may be good for when i'm paying full price for HF but looking at my plan details it appears I'm already getting a discount. So if I were to use these gift cards, if Muzzamo is correct it would use $79.99 off the gift card vs $69.99 if paid normally.. Not really worth it

      Price per serving:
      $ 11.67
      Discounted to $ 10.00
      Shipping:
      $ 9.99
      Total price:
      $ 79.99
      Discounted to $ 69.99

I bought some Category Choice Groceries gift cards last night, and still have not received them yet. During last promotion, Amazon cancelled my order for the Groceries gift cards and I have to chase them to get back $10 promo credit that I used for the order.

  • +1

Door Dash normally 20% off at Costco too: https://www.costco.com.au/Gift-Cards-Books-Office-Supplies/G…

    • awesome share, I didn't realise these were also available online — ringwood sold out of physical cards a while back and I thought I was shit out of luck — thank you !

      • They've been back in stock at Ringwood for at least the past couple of weeks. You can use the Category Choice Groceries gift cards to pay for them both in-store and online.

        • I tried last time, seems cannot check out online

  • +1

Can we buy these gift cards using Amazon gift card balance?

    • +2

No, the checkout page disables the option to pay using an Amazon gift card if you are trying to purchase a gift card.

  • Waiting on Grocery Choice cards after an hour or so.

    • Is anyone getting Category Choice GCs or has Amazon cracked down on those of us who actually use these offers

      • +1

i did, like 5-10 min waiting time

      • bought this morning haven't receive either

says "schedule" when you check the transaction on Amazon

    • It took Amazon seven hours to send me a Category Choice Department Store gift card from this deal, so one hour does not sound so bad.

      • well they haven't got it yet

      • is there a way to track choice gift cards sent by amazon? I can only think of labelling the email in gmail because unlike Shopback or cashrewards these don't display the card number in an easy to track manner

  • +1

Seems can be combined with $5 off deal from yesterday for $100 GC

    • I didn’t see the $5 credits after purchasing the $100 GC

      • Possibly meant the $5 off from buying Amazon GC can be applied to this purchase. I got 10% off and $5 off.

  • thanks op got the uber one

  • Just used to pay for some old trips!

  • Thanks OP

  • Bought the uber one last night and it still hasn’t come through, hasn’t charged me either. Anyone else facing the same?

  • Please note that Ubereats gift cards can only be used if You have another payment method attached to your account, as they count as Uber cash / voucher code and not a wallet thing. Learned the hard way after trying to get around Uber blocking my ccs
