    AUD = Australian Dollar
    $ is actually not required.

  Without flights, this is $300 a day.

  A private driver and car is $50 a day at most, with meals for the driver.

  Entry to the rock is $50 per person and Dambulla is $15

  Trains cost peanuts, 4 star hotels on Expedia throughout the country appear to be about $50-$120 a night.

  Amazing lunch and dinner with non alcoholic drinks are a buck or two each if you walk 50 meters past the ripoff tourist hole you got swindled into.

  How is this good value, let alone a bargain?

    Haiyo, hapata-sirisoma, this is quite valid point, $300 a day sounds excessive at our current exchange rates.

    I've upvoted this comment because your criticisms are mostly valid but where did you find 4 star hotels for 50 - 120 AUD per night? I searched in Colombo and Nuwara Eliya out of interest for a period in April and the ones that were that cheap had very poor reviews. Glad to stand corrected if you could provide some examples.

    Thanks for your comment and yes on average it is AUD 300 per for 2 people.
    Please note from December to April being the season you will not able to get any good 4 star hotels to the said rate and the package also include below.
    Air-conditioned sedan car with English speaking chauffeur, Toll charges & parking fee.
    Entrance Tickets for two people for Dambulla Cave Temple,Sigiriya,Kandy temple of Tooth relic,Cultural Dance Show, Train Tickets from kandy to ella,Turtle Hatchery.
    Entrance fee to Minneriya National Park and safari Jeep cost.
    Boat Safari cost for Madu Ganga.
