    This is a joke.

Lol can’t believe how much they’re costing these days.

  • get officeworks to price beating?

  • at least xs max

Genuinely curious: Is anyone on here going to fork out $1,500 for a phone?

    • I know right?
I thought I was going overboard with the S10 and that cost $8XX.

      • I got a new XR in a recent deal for $600 and even then it’s pretty crazy. Don’t regret getting rid of my Samsung however

        • Is xr newer than xs?

          • +1

@PVA: The XR and XS are both 2018 models. XS is a higher end phone with an extra camera lens, oled screen, stainless steel frame, more RAM and worse battery life.

      For the right phone, sure.

Not really cheap. $1,500+ and it's still not the latest version.

    The trolling has to stop.

So my vote isn’t unpublished I’ll make a valid point: iPhone 11 is a better phone in every way other than the screen and is $300 cheaper.

The 256GB iPhone 11 is $1449, so it’s not $300 cheaper if comparing the same storage sizes. The XS does have the better display, and also has a few other advantages over the 11; slimmer and more compact design, thinner bezels, stainless steel frame. Some people may prefer the secondary tele lens over the ultra wide angle. I agree, I’d buy an 11 over an XS, but I don’t think a neg vote is fair.

        And force touch

        • Not with iOS13 though?

          • @Fancydancer: Force touch is missing at a hardware level, they have fake type of force touch implementation it is not the same

      • Fair enough, thanks for the points, I’ll remove the neg. For someone to choose it for those advantages would make them a very particular buyer though.

        • I would choose a 64GB iPhone XS over a 64GB iPhone 11 if the price were the same. The 11 is too bulky for me. So I guess if you're set on 256GB, this is a decent deal.

How the hell are phones so damn expensive…..even old ones?

Of course, it allows Apple to make 63 billion dollars profit a year. Their profit margins are utterly, immorally ridiculous.

Yeah flagship phones are so expensive nowadays, the reasons most of my friends justifies it is because
    1) they don't own a computer/laptop (they do everything on the phone, even ) so the money that people normally spent on laptops is spent on the phone
    2) they use it every day
    3) they look at cost of ownership of the phone instead of cost of the phone, eg they upgrade and sell the old phone after 2 or 3 yrs of use so it works out to be $1 to $2 per day. So the value proposition is that it's reasonable to pay $1-$2 to own the latest gadget.

Reason 3 resonates with me the most but would love to hear what are the views of other ozbargain members that pays that much for a phone.

All three are interesting for me. Thanks for sharing :)

Is it gold plated that cost this much?
