Bad timing…ebay gift cards are all out of stock at Aus Post :(

    • Looks like Amazon are about to be sold out too only have $50 in stock

      • bought amazon ones from last time and still havent activated them

    • Are they physical cards or just a code?

      • +1

Physical ones and takes a while to arrive…mine took two weeks last time

        • Based on all the comments, i think there is at least a 20 to 1 (5%) chance of AusPost cocking up in some form, and therefore negates any benefit of the deal.

    • Scoopon 50% Cashback (Cap $6)

Love it how they make it sound like wow 50%!!!!

    But capped at $6

So the max you can buy is $12!

    • +1

I think it's for the Hoyts movie tickets i.e. half price

      • +6

Important to note here is the scoopon for Hoyts is only valid till 27th nov 2019…so just 12 days more…

I appreciate the deals coming through from Shopback and the competition with Cashrewards which have resulted in some really good deals lately, but I really hope they don't bring the complexities and "gotchas" to hit these deals which were very evident in the various credit card reward schemes I observed when I lived in Singapore.

  • +3

Amazon 5% is not bad. Not many places sell Amazon gift card.

    • Do you still get Shopback/CashRewards?

      • +2

        Yes

      • -4

It's store credits you don't get cashbacks with. e.g. If you complain to Amazon/ebay and they give a credit, no 'real' money gets spent when you use it - so no cashback.

        • Many stores don't allow cashback when paying with gift cards but Amazon and eBay are exceptions

          • +3

            @FireRunner: LOL.

            1. StevieRay asked regarding which store? Amazon.
            2. To that, I added ebay, because…
            3. … as FireRunner just clarified: Amazon and ebay are the exceptions. Hence why I did… step 2.

Thus all I, nfr, and FireRunner have all said is 100% accurate. So the problem with the negging snowflakes who can't read, is - what exactly… !?

            • @GregMonarch: What are you going on about?

Stevie ray only asked if you get Shopback/CashRewards

              • @4agte: Yes - and ONCE AGAIN - as FireRunner pointed out, the same behaviour regarding giftcards applies to BOTH ebay and amazon. Which is why I added ebay, but forgot to make it clear why - so FireRunner did so. It's called being helpful. Try it sometime.

Could someone please find and post some free online remedial reading classes? Seems they're desperately needed by a few here.

                • @GregMonarch: Helpful? Communicating in teenspeak? Leaving out vital information? Quoting something StevieRay didn't say.

                  OK. Thanks for sharing

          • +1

@FireRunner: David Jones allows it too.

      • My question was with regards to the post I replied to which related to Amazon. I thought it did but wanted consensus confirmation from the internets (I like to live on the edge) Thanks nfr

    • And thanks for the additional info for eBay. And the clarification regarding store credits.

I just wanted to understand was why one would opt for just 5% off from GC instead of the potential 12% from cash backs. But since they stack, I'll be sure to stock up next time.

Good to see some Book Depository incentives lately, though not many people seem to collect physical books anymore; I recently discovered it is hard to find proper bookcases for sale (solid wood, not chipboard, with sides and back).

Don't forget to use booko.com.au to compare pricing, though Amazon US is more complex since there is a per item and a per shipment fee (books to seem to be Prime eligible, at least not the ones I have looked at).

    • -2

Look at Scumtree and Fascistbook marketplace. Not sure if it's all the time, but I've noticed a lot for sale on there lately.

  • Is jb hifi gift card included in this 5 pc cashback?

    • If Auspost stock it then yes.

    • If you have suncorp for banking, or insurance (probably including CTP policy with your rego), suncorp rewards gives 5% discount on egift cards for JB (plus others)

  • Ordered one few weeks ago, when does auspost send us their gift cards?

    • I ordered 2/11 and they arrived 15/11
First order so not sure if that’s a usual timeframe.

      • +2

It's slow, and needs a signature.

      • Same with me. Received.

      • Which Auspost location did they ship yours from?

        • +1

Sent from their head quarter in Melbourne.

          • +2

            @koakun: Delivered by pigeon.

Takes almost 2 weeks for any delivery from them

I had a rebel order ordered midnight sunday, arrived tuesday 8am

            The irony

  • +1

Both ebay and Amazon out of stock
How much did they have 10 each ?
    Pathetic Aus Post

  • I ordered$300 Amazon gift card in one order, only been tracked $4.5 cashback. Might be something wrong.

    • Seems like shopback track it wrong as 1.5% for group b purchases instead of 5% for gift card

    • +2

Morning, sorry about this - AusPost's rates appear to not be set properly on their end again. We've rolled out a fix and you should see the correct rate within 48 hours (delay is just due to caching).

      • thanks for you reply, save my time write an email. i will wait and see then.

      • Hi rep, I can see in the "cashback activity" page the amount is fixed to 5%, however in the "pending earning" it haven't change.(eg: $15 on this auspost transaction. But $10.05 total pending earning) Is it normal just take longer time, or something still haven't been completely fixed. Thanks.

      • Any idea when the correct rate will be applied to purchases of gift cards from AusPost on 16 November? It's still showing as 1.5% instead of 5% in the transaction list.

  • Only got 6$ tracked from Auspost on 400 bucks of gift cards…seems like there is a cap?

    • +1

There's no cap. Sorry about this - AusPost's rates appear to not be set properly on their end again. We've rolled out a fix and you should see the correct rate within 48 hours (delay is just due to caching).

      • I had same issue with Groupon 20% cashback, only received tracking of 7.7%….how do I report as app doesn't allow me to report on e cashback is tracked…🤨

      • Same issue with Bd, it’s not tracking at 25% as advertised :(

        • same
$23.26 order, so $21.16 when removing GST
          Cashback amount tracked as $4.03

Should have been $5 as 25% is $5.29 (and promo capped at $5)
          Instead thats like 19%

Why advertise a promo if its not actually working :/

          • @SBOB: Mine also tracked at 19%, $25.64 minus $2.33 GST = $23.31. Mine tracked at $4.40 whilst I should have got the maximum cap of $5.00 (as 25% is more than $5). It’s not much of a difference but very bad that they are misleading people :(

            • @IamMe: Same here, not 25% as advertised. I’m really over Shopback right now. Still waiting for them to sort out the AliExpress Singles Day stuff up 😒

  • Thanks. Ordered from BD but have a bad feeling it didn't track properly with the Cashback Buddy chrome extension. Edit: Just got the confirmation. Stoked.

    • +1

Seems you had a hit of CA (cashback anxiety)

      • haha yep!

    • Did your BD purchase calculate correctly? Mine tracked quickly but wasn’t 25% (after I minused the gst)…

      • Yeah mate, my book was $20.47 and got the full $5 cashback

  • +1

Is it meant to take more than 2 weeks for one of these to arrive?
I know Australia post are completely useless but can then not even deliver the mail from their own house?

    Shhhhiiiiiiittt

    • i'm guessing if you live in Melbourne it should take faster (assuming its sent from their headquarters)

    • +2

Mines too - received my GC from last deal (2 November?) two days ago.

  • +1

So Hoyts ticket is $11.99, so you reach the $6 cap with just 1 ticket? What's the point except if I was #foreveralone?

  • went for an auction and the damn amazon gift card is sold out

  • Few books for presents - nice

  • Thanks OP.

  • They don't restock any of the popular gift cards.

  • Amazon gift-cards are out of stock. Ebay too.

  • Bought two books I had in my wish-list for ages. Ta

  • Expiry date on this one?
Would be good if they restock.

Ive even raised a ticket with them to request a stock up last week

    • Yes hope they restock the Amazon GC's

  • fingers crossed for some amazon GC restocking
want to combine with amex paypal promo that ends shortly

  • Just wondering if I purchase books on Book Depository, can it stack with 10% discount code "TH10" for Thailand delivery? Will i still be eligible for 25% cashback?

    • +1

As it's often the case, if a code isn't listed on the ShopBack site then it won't be eligible.

  • I'm still waiting for my cashback for a transaction that took place on 22 August for Ebay gift cards from Auspost Online.

I filled a claim on 10 September, and this is the response I got back then: "For missing cashbacks, we will be sending the details to the merchant when a missing cashback has been submitted via the form. Any transaction that we query for the merchant would take up to 35 days (except for Expedia which would take up to 75 days from checkout date) to finalise the result. The merchant would need to ensure that the cooling-off period has been elapsed and the items were not cancelled, returned or exchanged and that their analytics attributed the sale to Shopback. This is a fairly complex process hence why it can take so long, however it would vary from merchant to merchant. The claim time would still apply upon finalised as pending.

You will receive an email by our internal team once the investigation is over."

Still waiting for their response, so I just sent another email…NOT HAPPY

  • could the shopback rep confirm how scoopon 50% cashback works? Is it buy $12 you get $6 cashback? the transaction is seems not even reflect near this promo rate when tracked
