  • can you use this as a bridge?

    • +1

without the exact model number it would be difficult to say but my experience with other Belkin wireless AP and routers would suggest that it can't.

I'm assuming you want to setup a wireless bridge, I purchased a few WL520GU's from MSY before they were discontinued for only around $30-40 and they use WRT firmware.

Its safest to pick routers that take WRT firmware if you're interested in bridging, my one has never failed and associates within a few seconds of bootup. I've tried some Asus and default Buffalo bridges before and they were either slow or unstable (can't work with streams, IPTV etc)

having a look at the manual for the router model posted below suggests it can't do wireless bridging, WDS or client modes etc

It can only do router AP or wireless AP mode

        • thanks for the info :)

      • OMG the WL520GU are awesome. I have mine with tomato and it works as a USB server, can even use it as a torrentbox albeit with ex5 file format(linux) no FAT32 or NTFS

  • Do you know which type is this router?

  • Belkin F5D7234AU4 Wireless Router - 4-Port 10/100 Switch, VPN Support

  • I'm pretty sure you could bridge this to your current modem if your on ADSL/ ADSL2/+ - I'm pretty sure it's as easy as connected an ethernet cable from your current modem - to this routers WAN port. Don't quote me on that though, and i'd recommend finding some more information yourself, I can't guarantee what I say is right.

  • you can configure this device as a wireless access point.

    that % off is bs.

  • Lol I know… but it's still a good deal.

  • Crap routers, and I would never shop with MLN again, they sent my last purchase to the wrong address and even though I told them minutes after the purchase and have spent over $2500 with them they where uninterested in helping, buyer beware!

    • Hi Marchi,
      did you get your order?

      • No, never got my order (3 VPN devices), it was sent to the address where I bought my Asus $2500 laptop from you guys 1 year ago which is 1500km from where I am, I emailed MLN telling that it was the wrong address 2 minutes after I purchased and nothing was done, sent a follow up email 2 weeks later no one was interested in helping "your order was sent to the wrong address" Very disappointed

  • As they don't state the model
if its a F6D4230-4 v3 (they are sold as G but they support n150)

don't buy it they are crap
I have 2 and they both fail at least once a week

    • dazza76 they have a free onsite warranty and the tech support line is 24/7, I have one myself, works fine for me.
I also have another one with the wireless disabled that I use as a 4 port network hub running off this unit.

  • Within a week? :O that's bad. Did you get your money back/ a replacement?

  • "Only $9 shipping if you buy 3!" - lol who'd wanna buy 3 of these pieces of junk……

    • I think it's just worded poorly.

      It's $9 shipping for 1, or $9 shipping for 3.

Basically, $9 shipping cap if you order 1/2/3 of these.

  • I got this on the last deal, it works ok, but does mess up every now and again. In the last week, I had to go reset it 3 times. Months before that it worked fine. Cheap though.

  • Same router as their previous sale?

I found it excellent. It sits between my cable modem and main pc. Very happy with my purchase.
