  • Crazy. Emirates flights, Qatar……$199….slowly changing to $399 for some dates… free bags.

    • Emirates, Qatar? Care to elaborate?

      • Air Asia are pairing with full service airlines as well!

        • It’s not. Just their search engine which is powered by kiwi.com (OTA) shows results from other airlines too.

  • Is this real or just fantasy?

    • Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality

      • Open your eyes, look up to the skies and seeeeeeeeeeee

I’m just a poor boy…but even I can afford this

          • @Lps: Easy come. Easy go!

  • Looks like the sale started at 9am…and all sold out??

Can't seem to choose 'Madrid' in drop down box. Anyone else having same problem?

      • Same!

        • yep same

      • Ex Sydney only. It’s not updated in App as of yet. Only through website.

        • It's not working on website either…

        • I've been trying from Sydney all along :(

    • it states starts from midday so maybe still hasnt opened

    • Yeah. That's what the banner says. Thought it was supposed to be 12pm AEDT.

      • Maybe 1pm for daylight savings?

  • Is this even possible to book?!

  • +1

Nearly got one. Got Qatar for 199 return in March, just after I put in my credit card details it jumped to 1700. Suddenly all the flights became $399 but by the time you go to book one of them and go to the payment page it all jumps.
Don't waste your time. There will be a lot of dissapointed people or people who booked for cheap but won't go.

    • How did you even load the page?

  • Even at 399 in March, you go to book and Sorry, the price has changed to $ 1,434.82..

    • How did you get to that page? Through the Air Asia website?

    • Could you post a hyperlink, can't seem to see those prices at all.

  • Clickbait scam

    • +1

Yep by the time you go through all the pages about insurance, then having to enter your passport details the price changed at the last second. I would say this is a bit of a scam. I am sure some people got the cheap tickets but like everything, most missed out.

  • Clickbait at its finest.

  • +1

Yeah, I think they're all gone. I can't see anything less than about $2.5 for two people now.

    • Great price. I’ll pay you $5.0 for your flights if you like?

  • +1

I was refreshing the site from 12 pm straight, not once did I see it at the claimed price…

  • +1

It is a bit dodgy allowing the price to go up whilst in the process of buying the tickets.

Some airlines and accommodation sites are good in the way they handle bookings. Hold your ticket after a certain amount of time before it expires.

Probably don't do it this way to get more clicks and sales.

Great deal, crappy website and implementation.

Kinda felt this was unobtainable so I didn't even bother.

  • +2

has anyone actually managed to secure $199/$399 flights?

    • No, I think it was pretty much a dodgy "click bait" trick to increase their web traffic and ranking

    • +1

I got on at 12. Got a flight in March with Qatar for 199 return. Once I went through all the screens, as soon as I entered in my CC details, price then went up Sorry, the price has changed to $ 1,434.82

  • +3

    total scam.

  • +1

Did we have any winners from OzBargain?

If it's any consolation, which it's not, it's pretty cold at the end of November which is when most of the cheap tickets were available. And you can practise some Spanish at your local Mad Mex with a free $5 nacho to sweeten the deal.

  • I can’t even put Madrid as a destination lol

  • +3

    Unobtainable deal and clickbait!

  • +1

I GOT IT! Payment wouldn't go through at $199, refreshed and flights were $399, was able to nab an Etihad flight with decent connection times for a cheeky one week trip over the 26 Jan long weekend! AWESOME DEAL!

    • was it just now? or early on in the day?

    • +8

      screenshot or it didn't happen

  • Click bait

  • Game over guys. The $199 flights went in about 5mins and the $399 ones shortly after. Managed to get to the payment screen four times but price got jacked just before/after submitting.

  • +1

It was 11am Queensland time. I got one at $399, I was too slow entering my passport number to get a $199 fare.
Next time, I will make sure I'm on a computer not a phone and make sure I'm registered and logged in so I don't have to enter all of the information.
A pure marketing exercise, but a great saving for the lucky few.

  • Can't even get their website to load!

  • +1

Had everything Pre-filled, went straight at 12 for $199 within minutes i was at checkout page and it showed 2500. Gone back to search for dates again and it showed $399 tried again and showed again $2500, went back to search and it was on $399 still. This is a scam, but now we know not to fall for Air-Asia's scam tactics to gain customers into their shitty site.
