    There are flights to Los-Angeles for $934 roundtrip with stopover in New Zeland on zuji as well. For August-September. Good price IMHO.

    I think Flight Centre is spruiking return to NY for $1192 on the radio here in Sydney. Been meaning to call up to see if that's genuine or not.

          I think $1500 return is cheap with Qantas, with Flight Centre they don't tell you which airline it is until you enquire further

    yeah same… a friend got LA return last year for $1250 on Delta, December to and January from.

    Air China have maybe the best deals for the peak period between December - January when traveling to the USA. From reviews, they offer a very fair service for the price you pay. You can use www.skyscanner.net to find the airlines best deals, then try searching the whole month instead of a specific day to ensure you get the best deal. If you're still not satisfied, try searching http://www.airchina.com.au/en/index.html for the best deal, and then call sales and see if they can do it cheaper. They might be inclined to strike a deal especially if you're traveling with others.

      if you try to search the entire months for syd to LA, it should come up. thats how i found that price.
