So you lose $0.95 for each card you purchase?

    • +2

      So it’s not a deal.

      EDIT (10:44PM): Username checks out

    • +2

So, it is $0.95 per Visa gift card rather than $5.95!

Bring back 2,000 point then we are talking

Woolworths and Coles have become very scappy as of late with the points on these cards. :(

      • It may be a deal for someone wants to topup QFF pts, obviously not OzBers. In addtion, this card is hard to use as it has no PIN and difficult to check balance now. Unless you can use it up in one transaction fast, hardly worth having it.

        • I found that the easiest way to check the balance of any gift card is by calling

    • +1

No. more like you lose $5.95 but only getting a $5 worth of reward points for shopping.

If you get 105 FF points on your cc and value them at 1c each then you're making 10c :D

      • All the effort for 10 cents? Thanks but no thanks

        • Well look at mister moneybags mcrich here!

Failing to see the value in this sorry

  • Will this work for online orders or Mymacca's app (for the $5 Visa card promotion)?

  • Works well for those with staff discount.

    • I don't think 5% off is applied for giftcards in Big W, only in Woolies.

      • I don't see why it wouldn't be. I get 5% off in Big W too. If I go near a Big W soon, I'll give it a try.

        • 10% off for general items.

          • @Neoika: Ah that's right, I remember that email. I shop at Big W so rarely.

  • Could you pay with e-gift cards? Lol

  • I thought as part of the new rules for Gift Cards that all activation fees were scrapped on November 1.

    • Where is your source? Then it would probably no prepaid credit card anymore.

      • Saw it briefly on ACA the other night but didn't get all of it .There were 3 major changes one was new 3 year expiry on all Gift Cards another was all fees including activation fees were abolished as of November 1st & can't remember what the 3rd change was .I thought it included pre paid credit card but maybe not.

Pretty sure the law is pretty rubbish and excludes these kinds of gift credit cards.

        • +2

one was new 3 year expiry on all Gift Cards

This is already law in NSW

“They will also be able to charge an upfront fee for the purchase of the gift card. Whether consumers choose to accept an upfront fee and proceed with the purchase will be up to them.”

More information regarding the new rules is available on the ACCC website.

"They will also be able to charge an upfront fee for the purchase of the gift card. Whether consumers choose to accept an upfront fee and proceed with the purchase will be up to them."

So it's still a rort then.

The Virgin one is pretty good if you have holiday flights coming up.

  • Has the visa 1 bonus points offer ended yet back in nov or still current in dec?

    • Still available afaik

      • +1

kajke where did you see that it expires on the 27th dec? on the old catalogue it says nov 20th.

        • My (very) bad! Last time I create deal on the 📱

  • I just went into BigW in Melbourne, scanned my Woolworths Rewards card, purchased a Visa Only1 gift card for $105.95, the sale tracked into my Woolworths Rewards activity, I got 0 rewards points for this transaction.

On Woolworths website it says 'bonus points may take up to 3 days to appear in your account'. I will update in 3 days, but normally Woolworths points appear immediately.

  • thanks jmc787 i thought so that it expired on the 20th nov. do let us know if you do get the points as i would have liked to have bought some. guess its off to coles on wednesday instead for thier $100 coles MC gc offer.
