  • I heard Netflix will soon stop supporting Samsung TVs.

    • You got info on this?

      • I heard it on the radio the other evening…

        Some DRM issues…

Software will not update on some models of Samsung.

Will even affect some recent models too.

        • Yeah, tvs that are like 2013 or around time and older are impacted

        • Okay I be-li-eve you.

          • @Dark Zeus:

            I be-li-eve you.

            Is that you Will-I-Am ??

      • Those pre 2013 models probably not many still survive today so shouldn't affect too much for most people

        • A 6 year old TV! whoa! That was like when they were still building pyramids right?

Seriously, i guess this should be all be factored into everyone's purchase decision.

          • @Charity: I still got 2 Samsung Plasma (Made in Korea) and they were around 2013 and still works great but the LED I bought sometime in 2015 died (can't remember either made in China or Malaysia) already but luckily I have replacement warranty from HN so I got it upgrade to a later model.

Not all Samsung TV's, just "ending support for older devices from Samsung":
      https://www.theverge.com/2019/11/11/20960441/netflix-ditchin…

Stated here "Samsung smart TVs manufactured in 2010 and 2011 (C and D lineups) — and likely sold for many years after that — will stop "
      https://techcrunch.com/2019/11/07/netflix-samsung-smart-tv-r…

    • I’m a bit concerned with this news

PS: just looked at Samsung Oz site and the connectivity issues only look to affect older devices

      • Of course… why release firmware to fix older models when you can just sell more TV's.

        Planned obsolescence.

  • I saw the thumbnail and saw the checkout chick & OP buying 4 TVs.

I got a great deal on the Samsung 55" QA55Q60RAW Series 6 QLED from videopros EBay store last month - $1163 delivered (Thera was a 20% code applied) plus $159.20 for a 5 year warranty on site. It’s a great tv, just go on YouTube to find how to configure the picture settings and you’ve got something halfway between LED and the magnificent but pricey and fragile OLEDs.

65” was too big for our lounge, to get my big tv fix I’ve got an ex insurance auction 2015 LG 84” in the family room which was a steal at $520 (rrp $13k) - was a bit hard to wall mount at 75kg tv but I did it.
