  • from value proposition, is it better to just stick with an rx580 used or is it better to spend a bit more and go for this or the 1660ti.

only gaming on 1 monitor at 1080p, although pairing with an i7 8700k

    • your monitor 60hz or 144hz ?

will you upgrade your monitor soon ?

      • 60hz, within the lifetime of this build yes

  • Seems reasonable value for a rehash of a card from 2016. Correction: rehash of a rehash.

    • very good value

nothing comes close to its' price/performance at $319

      • Maybe so but it cant even run RDR2 at a decent frame rate. Best to wait for next gen cards I think.

    • The 1660 is not a rehashed 1060 lol. They use different GPUs with different architectures and are even manufactured on different processes.

      • Maybe so, but only about 15% faster than 1060 on average.

  • How does this compare to "Gigabyte GTX1660Ti 6GB PCIe "

    • if you can find a Ti for the same price as this then go for the Ti, otherwise the Super gives you like 95% of the performance for only ~80% of the price.

What 'Super' graphics card are you referring to exactly?

        • +3

Are you being serious? What graphics card is being offered in this deal?

      • Awesome. Thanks. I cancelled my 1660Ti order ($390 delivered) for this instead. Appreciate the info :)

  • would getting a RTX 2060 be better value/technology?

  • Pretty good deal, not the best 1660 super card though. Power consumption is a lot higher than its peers.

Does pretty well, especially for this price.

    Benchmarks vs rx590, 1660 and 1660Ti: https://youtu.be/InsmkOXRz04

  • Still rocking a GTX 970, for 1080p gaming. life choices :)

    • I'm still using a GTX 660.

      • Took the punt, and caved in. After seeing Jedi Fallen Order run on my GTX 970, frame drops, I thought it was time for an upgrade. Looking forward to it.

    • 970 for 1440p here, I've gotten used to 40 FPS. :P

Got any plans for your 970 given you're upgrading?

I can get a brand new 8GB RX 590 for $275 is this worth it for the extra $44.20 premium? Thanks

    • +2

The rx590 is about 11% slower overall (according to the benchmarks I linked above).

For 1080p the rx590 is (still) fine, but if your running 144hz I would probably spend the extra $44 to get closer to that frame rate.

    • Where do you buy the RX 590? I can only find them at $330

      • Was a Umart limited time special, ended up not buying it anyway

  • Sold. Long overdue update for my 750ti. Thanks :)

    • Dam you only just beat me. 760 lol.

      • No one using 600 series or earlier? I feel so lonely with my 660…

  • Should I buy this or Rx 580 at $240? RX 580 has a game promotion at the moment.

I only play games at 1080p60Hz.

    • +1

RX 580 handles most games fine at 1080p 60 fps. Very good value at $240 with free games. I have an RX 580 and am upgrading to the 1660 Super though, because it's much faster and produces less heat. There are a few things that have bothered me with the 580, but otherwise it is very good for playing AAA games at 1080p 60fps.
