    wow that’s a good deal!

    • +3

      It's Zooper Dooper!

  • Is there a limit on uber gc?

    • +2

      Yes, 10. Added to OP.

      • +1

Can we use uber gcs on ubereats??

        • +1

Yep. You can't see it because the price covers it but it says "a ride or meal in minutes".

          • @rith: or just use didi and you don't need the discount. can't believe people still bother with uber.

            • +6

@Thatbargainhunter: Because they have more than one driver per state?

              • +2

@Ulysses31: Plenty of DiDi drivers in Melbourne.

They seem to be all the ones Uber kicked off though… passengers too… makes for a fun ride - but hey, it is about 20% cheaper!!!

            • @Thatbargainhunter: Didi is great but not available in my town yet.

            • @Thatbargainhunter: …and send more profits to China with Didi.

            • @Thatbargainhunter: Didi is costly then Uber and ola is cheapest…so use ola.

              • +1

@SydBoy: Didi is not more costly than uber. Way cheaper and always codes. Also gives driver far greater.

No problems with the number of didi drivers. Most drivers do both dodo and uber now.

                • @Thatbargainhunter: Channel 9 did check for ola, Didi and Uber by taking three of them and travel to same destination…the results were that Ola was $16, Uber $18 and Didi was $25….used Ola many times found similar price difference.

                  • +1

@SydBoy: A current affair is hardly research. Such 'research' would not have a control for things like time of day or traffic conditions.

I just typed in 3 destination in both didi and uber and didi was cheaper in all of them.

I think you will find it hard for anyone to agree with you that Uber is cheaper. And I'd rather give 95% of the fare to driver than only 70% with Uber

Ola won't be around much longer, theor pockets aren't deep enough to fight off Didi.

                    • @Thatbargainhunter: Booked via DiDi once. Driver tried to scam me: pretended to pick me up and drove a fake fare in to the city. I eventually got my money back but I had to book an Uber anyway and it was bloody infuriating at the time. Never again.

                    • @Thatbargainhunter: Lol… I never said current affairs did 'research'…. They actually travelled on road at same time from same place to same destination through same route….so their so called 'research'' is better than you using computer or app to check fair.

Ola is in market longer than Didi already…and our discussion is about who gives better rate to consumer.

      • I assume there’s nothing stopping you from doing multiple transactions though…

  • Don't buy the zero sugar Zoopers, they are truely horrible

    • +2

They don't want all them vitamins, man. They want drink.
That's the ingredients: sugar, water and of course, purple.

    • What's the problem? Lack of flavours?

      • Absolutely revolting taste. Super strong aftertaste, they are vile.

    • Also, they go white have such little taste as well as freezing harder and more brittle. Not an enjoyable experience the no sugar ones.
I'm kind of amazed they even exist.
I'm guessing it's made on Stevia and water?

  • Ooh yea 20% off Uber that’s great especially with the festive season around the corner. I wonder if I can try buy this on a self serve checkout with a eGift card to get the extra 5% off. (Never tried paying by eGift card through self serve before)

    • i have the same question. i can get 4% off Coles egiftcards. i remembered Coles doesn't allow the use of Coles giftcard to buy other giftcards…

let's wait for other OzB members to respond…

      • +1

When this goes live I work in a shopping centre Coles is in so I’ll give it a try 🤭

    • You can’t. Neither manned nor self service will let you use gift cards as a form of payment when purchasing a gift card.

      • Does the assistant need to process your eGift card through self checkout?

        • +2

Yes, we scan our code and enter the expiry details on a GC if required.

The system does not allow purchase of gift cards with other gift card, with the exception of Bunning Gift cards because they are for some reason completely different

          • @freoleo: Man I thought Bunnings was excluded. This is a great, thanks

          • +1

@freoleo: It works if you are buying other groceries and go through the attended checkouts. I just bought $100 iTunes GC (for $80) along with ~$150 weekly shop. Absolutely no problem paying the full ~$230 with Coles e-giftcard.

            • @Cliche Guevara: I think it is heavily dependent on which store you go to. I used to be able to do this at my local (even through self checkout) but ran into issues paying - The system wouldn't let it process. I thought it was due to an update from the start of last year.

I'll give it another go, but just a heads up for people testing it out.

            • +1

@Cliche Guevara: Doesn't work at my store, comes up with a big warning saying "part payment with gift card unavailable"

There is no manual overwrite available from a supervisor/manager either.

              • +1

@freoleo: Ok, that's interesting. I never had issues at the two Coles I've used. I guess I'll keep doing it until I can't…

              • +1

@freoleo: Yes, you can't do part payment any more. But if you have an egift card which covers more than the full amount, you're sweet.

    • +2

I just bought $300 of Uber gift cards and paid with a Coles gift card that I got at a 4% discount through Suncorp. I was using a self service checkout. Have done it with other gift cards in the past too with no problems. Must be a store dependent thing.

      • Same here. Had to scan the eGift card at the top right where you scan your FlyBuys card. Wouldn’t scan the eGift card with the grocery scanner.

  • +2

20% Uber GC. Say hello to holiday season.

  • Do these expire?

    • 3 year exp on Uber

  • Yeah to Uber Gift cards……sick of using the flybuys offers limited to 1 per card. With the end of shopsmall will be back onto Uber and use those pickup offers… although the $10 off $15 have expired :(

  • Does anyone know if you can buy these with Coles gift cards? I haz some spare but not sure if they have a block like woolies do

    • +1

      You can’t

      • You can! Just can’t split payment.

    • Worked for me using a self service checkout.

    • You can with eGift cards at some stores.

  • No. you cant use gift card

  • Thanks OP. I'll wait a bit longer to hopefully get 20% off Google Play cards soon. Either a % discount or equivalent Woolies Rewards points. Normally buy to cover over a years worth of YouTube Premium.

    • Still overpriced, if not OS setup.

      • What do you mean by OS setup?

        • VPN setup (once off)

    • I can see 20% off(technically) google play card on woolworths catalogue from Wednesday.

Buy a $50 google play card will receive 2000WW points ($10 value) .

  • Can you add uber gift cards to your account to use overseas?

    • +1

It can only be used as AUD only.

  • What's the expiry on those Uber gift cards once they're added to your account?

    • +1

      3 years from purchase

      • +2

        Thanks mate
I don't travel often but 20% off is 20% off

        • Could use for some food @ubereats.

          • @maverick1: Unless it's a hungover Maccas meal I don't use it! None of the places we like near our place use it.

  • +1

Netflix just told me I can't pay with Google play any more!

    • Using google play balance you cant?? New?

      • Sorry?

        • Sorry I meant can you not pay using google play balance anymore? I setup my netflix through google play so it automatically uses my google play credit. Great with google play discount cards but a pain when the netflix gift card discounts come out as I can only close my account and reopen a netflix only account if i want to change from being tied to google play (real pain in the bum).

          • @SaberX: If you got the e-mail nagging you to change your payment method, that is. I've gotten three of them so far

            • @kerfuffle: Really, they didn't cut you off?

They probably think that 70% of a subscription is better nothing.

  • +1

24% off Uber, nice! I have been waiting weeks for this (since my last bulk 24% off purchase had been all used up).

    • How 24% off?

    • -2

You can't buy gift card with a gift card. So it's only 20% off.

      • +1

Well, you can. And I will.

5% (from good guys concierge) stacks with 20% to give total 24% off.

        • When did you last have success with this? And are GGC cards physical or egift?

Haven't had luck paying by egift cards for a new gift card for a while, the system rejects it even when paying for additional shopping.

          • +2

@futureminime: You need to pay the full amount on an egift card, don’t split the payments.

            • @Coops1: Yeah, tried the full amount. Still got error. Maybe its just my coles, maybe there is a weird issue with Netflix cards, or if you scan the card first.

IDK, will report back when I next try

          • +1

            @futureminime: 3 minutes ago.

  • Google Gift Card could be handy with the Google Black Friday sale coming up too? 10% off discounted phones etc?

    • +2

I'm pretty sure they don't apply to device purchases

    • Google Play gift cards can only be used for play store, not google store for hardware unfortunately.

Woolies has them for equivalent 20% off via rewards points though. $50 GC = 2000 points/$10

      • -1

Is there a limit per customer with woolies

  • Good deal! Time to stock up

  • silly question, but catalogue sales mean in store purchases?

  • Similar Uber, better Google Play deals in Woolies in the coming week.

    • But google play is only for app store purchases or subscriptions whereas this is discounted taxi (uber) effectively?

  • Bought some Uber GC at Chatswood Chase Coles, plenty of $25 and some $50 pm the shelf near Cashier #9. Enjoy.

  • Bought some from Coles Collingwood using Coles Myer gift cards just fine at self checkout.

  • Darwin city say they don't stock them. Anyone have any luck in the NT

  • Discount on Google Play cards isn't limited to just the $50, I bought a $30 card and got $3 off.

  • purchasing Uber Gift Card with discounted coles gift card from suncorp. The lady was like “You can’t purchase gift card with gift card coz you are scamming.” Even I told her that I can prove I purchased the coles gift card by myself. Went to another Coles instead. Much better supervisor that assists me to activate all the Uber gift cards.
