Which B450 motherboard are you using at the moment?

    • +5

The base upgrade is the MSI Pro VDH. Based on feedback on X570 we added a higher spec offering there, and happy to look into one for the B450 too if people want it?

      • +1

        MSI B450 Mortar MAX please~

      • MSI Gaming Pro Carbon AC. Considered the best value to performance AM4 board going around.

  • +4

Wow, that's a legit build for that price

  • +1

Hey Luke any other more budget friendly BF builds coming soon? Looking to spend around $600-800 for a 1080p 144hz fortnite setup. Cheers 👍

    • +2

Yep! Feels like RX 5700 is the one for you?

      • Sounds like it. You've got me checking my phone refreshing deals like a desperado 😉

  • +1

    Welcome back Luke :)

    • +2

It's good to be home away from home.

      • Are they making you work while on leave to make up for all the discounted machines sold Luke?

        • My fingers hurt.

And now my back's gonna hurt too, coz I just pulled landscaping duty.

Do pop culture jokes work when used self-referentially when they weren't originally?

  • Can we also get a black friday build for the 3500x/3700x and 5700xt?

With the 2080 in this build, will it still come with the COD game code or not?

    • +3

The CoD promotion has finished sorry! And yep, 5700 and 5700XT builds will be coming this week.

      • +1

Thanks Luke! Could the MSI 5700xt Gaming X version be provided as option? Thanks

        • Not one we can get reliable quantity of at this point!

          • @luketechfast: Do you have any plans to get 5700XTs which are not MSI Mech?

            • @hotdog85: We have used Sapphire as well but MSI Mech forms the bulk and serves us well.

      • Did these builds end up being released by any chance? Wanted to ask before pulling the trigger on the r5-3500x deal from the 07/11.

  • Hello Luke. I'll like a robust machine for video editing. you've got one coming up or is this good for it?

    • +2

Thursday is the day for this one

      • 3950X ?

        • We've been advised not doable until supply increases.

          • @luketechfast: Not unexpected. Those things and TR will be impossible to grab for reasonable prices I'm sure.

Speaking of TR, because I'm sure people will ask, are they on your radar? Or just a "if the demands there" thing?

            • +1

@N1NJ4W4RR10R: We should be able to spin usual magic on pricing but first drop supply wasn't available. That'll change. TR will be demand based I'd imagine. We sold a lot of 1920X last year but the 1950X clearance recently wasn't especially popular.

      • keen on video editing pc sale too ? if available , please link :)

  • I have the same question too

    • As theman? Thursday.

      • yes, for photo and 4k video editing

  • +3

These deals are such a tease.. "I don't want this, I don't need this" need to ban myself from ozbargain I think.

  • Hi luke, what is the b350 motherboard that is included in the base model?

      • Thanks Luke, is there an option for this to be shipped disassembled? Ie parts in original boxes so I can assemble myself?
        Thanks

        • Yep, request UNASSEMBLED in the Notes field on the Cart page before Checkout.

  • Why do you keep tempting me :P

  • +1

    what about a deal with a RTX 2060 ? budget+? PS. i love u

    • +1

5700 pricing is much better comparatively so 2060/2070 haven't been offered for quite a while now.

      PS loveutoo

  • +4

No 3700x/3900x with 2080 super build?

    • +3

      Incoming this week!

      • +1

This is the build I've been holding out for. Gonna bite the bullet finally as a Christmas present to myself!

        • +1

          Yahoo!

      • Looking forward to it!

  • +6

    Hey Everyone,

With all these deals that’s going to be happening, probably be prepared to received a DOA PC, I’m not too sure on the process of getting it built, but

my friend purchase one around a month ago and the gpu was dead, he did get it replaced via warranty, but he had to send it back and wait longer,
I recently purchase one which arrived today, and unfortunately it’s DOA, none of the display ports at the back works at all, so I will be calling up tomorrow to get the shipment returned and wait once again.

But I guess that’s the trade off for the cheap deals tech fast are giving away.

    • PMd you.

    • +2

I purchased what to me looks like an almost identical to this computer last year during the eBay sales they had, and while understandably during that period delivery was a little long the computer cane working no problems. Now almost a year on and I haven’t really done anything to it besides adding another ssd card. I will say the only negative I have found is for me during the summer (being in a small apartment) the computer can get hotter then I feel confident to run with some graphic intense games. I have no regrets buying from them and very happy with my purchase

      • Appreciate the review!

      • +1

You should probably add some case fans.

I doubt these budget builds come with many other than the ones supplied with the case.

For example I have the thermal take H18 case, that I bought a n Amazon for my own build. It came with one exhaust fan. I added another 4 120m case fans. Much better now.

        • +1

This guy has nailed it. Add a few more case fans should definitely help.

        • +3

I added another 4 120m case fans. Much better now.

          I would hope so!!

          • @djkelly69: tbh I was thinking about doing that but figured I might as well wait and see if anything decent comes up for black Friday

        • +7

Just FYI for everyone we add additional fans to the H18.

        • Iirc luke said they added in some fans to the h18 cases, though not sure if that was just a specific deal. Luke confirmed just above

For the base case though, a good practice. It'll be fine for smaller specs, but when you start getting up to the 3600 and 5700 specs you'll be needing a bit more airflow. Especially in our summers.

      • +2

The one I purchase was from this post https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/495992
        My friend purchase https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/481247.

It could just be a big coincidence my friends and I PC didn’t work,
But I’m just letting others know just be wary, especially since Techfast most likely has been pumping out heaps of systems, they could be in a rush to get these systems completed, but yeah, it could just be bad luck haha

      • You mean the ports on video card or motherboard?

      • try under volting the gpu, stress test for stability, rinse and repeat

    • I fear this has happened to me. I thought it was the GPU but I noticed the CPU and RAM leds are lit up on the debug board on the mobo. tried a few things no luck.

      • After some assistance from Luke,

It was indeed the Mobo that was faulty.

Drove out to my brothers and tested the GPU on his PC and the display finally showed up.

Also as Luke suggested, plugged in a keyboard and tap the Caps button to see if there were any lights. Unfortunately there were none so we narrowed it down to the Mobo.

Trying to get in contact with the support now but while I was waiting in queue it ended it for some reason…. So I guess I have to wait for a callback from the support team? I don’t know at this stage…..

        • that makes sense, I noticed no keyboard lights actually. I've been emailing tech support but none of the suggestions have helped. might have to arrange the swap

    • This did actually happen to me. It's probably a numbers games that some gpus are dodgy, first time in my life it's happened.
Callum from Techfast was amazing though, most patient person and best customer service despite a not great situation.
I do now have a PC I love so can't complain!

  • Hi Luke, if I just want to purchase parts to upgrade the pc we got from you, do I get discounted price as well?
    Thanns

  • I'd buy the rig if someone else would buy the PC minus the 2080.
I just need the 2080 for my Alienware Graphics Amplifier.

    • gumtree

      • Too much time to bother, especially with Xmas time.

    • +2

how much would you pay for the 2080?

      • How much are the parts worth without the 2080? Need to research that, I'm guessing half of the build price? Haven't build a PC in 10 years.

        • How much are the parts worth without the 2080

          Like $500-550

          • @x4m2b: So no different than just going out and buying a 2080 then. Ah wells

  • -1

    Hey Luke welcome back mate.
What is the normal price for the upgrades on RAM, PSU & Case? I should know off by heart at the number of times I've looked at these damns systems haha.

    • RAM normally $59, PSU about $100, case is new as they haven't been options as Leaped Pro has been OOS.

  • -3

hey mate, any video editing comps coming up ?

    • +9

      Really man? Read up

  • Is the Galax card the blower model?

    • +2

1-Click OC, dual fan. No blowers across any GPU.

  • Hey Luke, strange question but is there any chance if a place an order (still not 100% sure) would you be able to contact me regarding the shipping address when its ready for shipping, its just we are going to be moving very shortly and I know the build will take a few weeks?

    • +2

Not a problem. We can change the shipping address at any point. Just add the note to Please Confirm Shipping Address Prior To Shipping in the Notes field on the Cart page before Checkout.

    • I'm in exactly the same boat, so good to know this shouldn't be an issue!

  • Are you guys based in Sydney? Can I come collect?

    • +1

      Adelaide

      • +1

Thanks Tex. Right call to step down from the captaincy this year. Focus on your goal kicking. Good stuff.

        • Nah, you're referring to the second-rate Texan there!

A question re. these deals - are we able to remove items (and reduce price)?

For example, I have plenty of hard drives and wouldn't need the one included in this deal.

          • @Tex Texan: Unfortunately not. It's not an easy thing the eay we're structured to split systems up without components, both admin wise and those that are needed for testing, and our warranty isnt setup for that either.

            Go Crows.

  • Man wish you guys as successful on ebay as you are here.. got plenty of gc to use LOL

  • Ok I'm not up with the latest Gamer PC parts, but is that an $1100 video card in a $1500 PC?

    • +7

I see you are new to the ways of the Fast

  • +4

I got my 3500X/5700 build from TechFast. Packaging and cable management is superb. Working right out of the box. In fact I'm typing on it right now using this new rig. I'm a happy customer and will recommend you guys.

    • Great to hear thanks!

  • Can you do gaming x upgrade

    • On the GPU? Unfortunately not.

  • +1

Hi everyone, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to go for the $99 liquid cooling upgrade. Budget has room but was thinking if it’s necessary.
    Thanks everyone!

    • I would like to know too

    • +1

My 3600 build reaches 80-90c whilst gaming using the stock cooler.

Using the Vesa H18 case and swapped out their case fans with some noctua ones. The B350 mobo also only has two fan headers (CPU and chassis) which is also a bit limiting, so I just daisy chained using spitters. The rpm monitor for the case fans seems bugged too as it randomly hits 0 rpm even though they are spinning

The H18 case also has a limit on aftermarket CPU cooler needs to be <155mm in height.

      • Thanks for sharing your experience mate.

Heard good things about the Noctua but personally not comfortable swapping out the fans myself.

Do you know much about the Antec ones on offer as well?

  • +1

Are there any upgrades I should definitely take?

  • Can someone tell me if this is a decent gaming PC? I am thinking about getting one for my son who plays predominantly Destiny2 and Rainbow 6 Siege? Is he going to be happy with the FPS he gets with this rig?

    • +1

My 2c as the sales guy - it's the best bang for buck gaming CPU on the market, and almost top tier GPU performance wise, so I would say he'll be extremely happy with it!

    • Yea for sure this has some pretty decent specs. apart from a 2080 ti, this graphics card is one of the best (and a graphics card is one of the biggest factors on your fps if that's what you're worried about)

    • Yes more than enough to play those games

  • +1

Any chance this build could be upgraded with a 3700x or 3800x option?

  • Oh damn, 240gb NVME to 1tb for only $99? Where was that option when I bought my similar spec techfast rig a few weeks ago. Would have totally jumped at that! Bit worried 240gb is not going to be enough..

  • +2

hi luke, my only concern is the quality and performance of the b350 motherboard. Would you offer/suggest an upgrade to the b350 into b450 etc? I dont want the b350 to let down 2080 super

    • I havent had any reports of the B350 chipset adversely affecting the GPU performance. The major benefits of the B450 are an increase in RAM slots and USB ports, and a bigger brand name in MSI.

  • Hi I ordered a 3500x/rx 5700 pc last week Tuesday last week and wanted to know when that is being shipped thanks.

    • Please PM me your order details so I can look up the specifics, thanks!

  • +1

Luke any chance of a Black Friday Special on the 99$ 240GB m.2 [NVMe] to 1TB m.2 [NVMe] Solid State Drive price??

    • I don't believe so, SSD pricing doesn't move very much from our suppliers. For the Gold PSU upgrade, they gave us a mega deal so we can pass it on. SSDs, not so much.

  • Could someone please point me in the direction of a 27 inch monitor worthy of this sweet rig? Budget of up to $800 but if the monitor was potentially going to be a part of the upcoming black/cyber festivities that would make it all the better.

    • +1

You should check out LG27GL850. Head good things about this monitor. Also within your budget

  • Hey Luke,

I have a very weird question. Is it possible that I could put 999 bucks of this on zip PAY and then just pay the difference using a credit card.

Reason I'm asking is I don't wanna go over the threshold that zip money uses and thus they're aggregious fees.

TL;dr zip money is for payments over 1k that has really bad fees. Zip

    • I'm sure we can figure it out. Please email [email protected] so we can take care of it there!

  • Hi, for the $99 B450m mobo option, does it have 1 or 2 m.2 slots?

  • TechFast just get better and better

  • Hi, it seems that the price has gone back up to $1799?

    • Apply the discount code at Checkout.

  • Couldn't resist and made a purchase. Ordered unassembled so hopefully it'll ship faster :) thanks Techfast!!

  • I went to buy this but I notice that the case options have been limited - any chance the Thermaltake H18 will come back into stock?

    • I will be adding the new option, the Deepcool Tesseract, today!

  • Hi there, I don't suppose this deal is still available with the Thermaltake Versa H18?

    • Unfortunately we have literally purchased all of Thermaltake's supply of the H18 and J25 stock in the country. We are sourcing replacements and I hope to have them uploaded today.

      • Awesome, I'll keep an eye out.

  • How long until this expires? Curious about the new cases that are coming in.

    • Not sure on the deal expiry but any other deals will be similar.
Case situation has changed - all branded cases are now sold out until the new year.

      • don't suppose it would be possible to buy disassembled, no case?

        • Unassembled yes, just enter SHIP UNASSEMBLED in the Notes field on the Cart page before Checkout. Without case, no.

  • Is the 3500X a good match for this GPU at high refresh rates?

  • Hey Luke,

Purchased this deal on black Friday and I can't wait to game on it. Would you be aware of how long there is left till it's shipped out (Perth Bound)? Surname is Os*** if you need a reference :)

    • Systems purchased in that promo period should be delivered in the week of the 16th. Being in Perth it will likely be towards the end of that week die to transit times etc.

  • Has anyone copped one? Mine arrived and it's all good but its very very loud. Anyone know any fixes? Its at least twice as loud as my old dell pc to the point where I can't use the computer if no music is playing on account of the noise being distracting.

    • Really? Shit. Mines due this week will let you know

      • Has it been shipped out with tracking number? I haven't received any word since black Friday.

        • Ive not heard anything order

I got an email from customer support saying it would be before Christmas :(

    • Just got mine today. Fans are a little loud, might buy some better ones when I see a good deal.

      • I checked the front fans out. They are not pwm and powered off a molex connector. They will be running a full speed which im guessing is why they are a little noisy

        • Yea, just realised that. Do you plan to buy a controller or something?

          • @hotdog85: Looking at additional fans and a fan hub. The biostar motherboard doesnt have the additional fan headers

  • My order arrived Thursday 16 December 2019, dispatched in the 10 business day window and quick shipping to Perth. Arrived in great condition, awesome cable management and runs like a dream. Absolute bargain, thanks guys.

    • Beauty, great to hear and thanks for letting us and others know!

  • Hi I just got my but when I turn it on nothing is displayed on screen. :S

    • Please contact [email protected] or 1300 898 956 for technical support, thank you.

      • I been on hold for 45 mins not sure if anyone is manning the phones

        • Now it automatically hanged up. Fml

          • @Wonwon1: PMd you - we will call you.

            • @luketechfast: I got a call from Christian whom helped with my issue where one of the cables wasn’t plugged in and it is all sorted now. Thank you.

  • @luketechfast: Can another 2080 Super build at this price point come back for boxing day?

    • Yep!
