I was waiting for the $109 deals for the Show 5, but at $79 it's a steal.

Thank you! I persuaded my 7 year old to walk out of office works on Saturday, he was all ready to buy an echo 5 with his saved up pocket money. Knowing Black Friday was coming up I promised I would get him a deal. He trusted me and reluctantly put it back on the shelf. Hope this was a good lesson for him and now he can buy some LEGO with the savings.

Your 7 year old wanted an echo show?? I can’t fathom that

      • +4

Hopefully it’s good for a kid who likes to check the weather, listen to audiobooks and is constantly asking questions.

        • he wont b so keen once he realises it is a nightmare to play youtube on, not to mention the constant ads on the echo

      • +4

Yeah, when I was 7 all I wanted was a sewing machine

        • +2

I'm so old we just ate mud when we were 7

    • Definitely a great life lesson!

    • The better lesson would be to buy it first and use price protection to claim back the price difference ;)

      • Because every 7 year old kid definitely has a 28 degrees card…

  • brilliant deals!

  • Can this be stacked with 8% cashback on echo devices shopback offer?

    • +3

Sure. Or 7% + $2 with Cashrewards before midnight.

Might get one to MOD it on the top dash of my car

    • +1

      Which would be illegal.

      • How?

        • I think he is referring to laws in some states where if you have displays on top of your dash itself, it's illegal as it's blocking your field of view. All I can think that he is referring to.

@[Deactivated]: Can’t have a device that shows movies that doesn’t disable when engine starts

            • -1

@jv: oh that sucks. maybe i can hardwire it so it turns off with the engine.

  • Hopefully the Google equivalents are on sale soon.

    • amazon doesnt sell them but big w and jb r 2 for 199$

  • Anyone know if they ever put Amazon Prime 12 month subscription on sale for black Friday?

  • +1

The newly released Echo Show 8 is unfortunately only currently available in the US, but not yet in Aus. The bigger size screen seems much more practical for use in the kitchen - i.e. to show photos / video / calendar etc.

  • I thought this was the newer version, is this not available yet in Aus?
the one with the clock I mean:

If you purchase with the Amazon shopping app you can also take $10 off your first purchase. I just bought the echo show 5 for 69- through the first app purchase deal.

Great deal, Rumbaar! I've had many bedside clocks in my 60 or so years - some the displays were just too bright, some died, some the alarms were unreliable if the power went off during the night. The Echo Show 5 is by far the best I've owned with its auto-dimming, gorgeous display and BIG numerals, traffic, weather, daily briefing. At that price I'll buy another I think ('cos, y'know, OzBargain).

    • Yeah, I have one in my study. I can view my security cameras or RING via it. But wanted one for the Kitchen and Bedroom, so got 2 more. They replace Echo Dots'

  • +1

Echo show 5 or Lenovo clock?

    • +1

      Echo all the way IMO.

    • I bought Lenovo clock a week ago for an Xmas present for 79. I think I have to return it and get this, as it's much better. Does JB take returns due to change of mind?

Otherwise I'll sell it to you!

      • +1

        Already bought echo.

  • This or Google nest?

    • If you use google photos or want to watch youtube easily go with a google hub. Echo 5 has a camera though the small hub does not

  • Anyone received a show 5 yet? I ordered this on Tues 26th, and it was apparently guaranteed deliver by Friday.

Now it's saying by Thursday this week!

    • I ordered on the 26th and had it on the morning of the 28th and also in MEL like you.

      • Did you get a white one? Maybe that's why mines a screw up, I would have picked up a local one via price match by now if I had known.

        • No mine is charcoal.

    • Received (charcoal) mine in Melbourne today. Ordered on 26th and it was meant to be delivered on last Friday.

  • Echo show voice is not as crisp as echo dot.

    • WiFi is definitely worse than Dot 2nd Gen
