The $5 Double Beef 'N' Bacon Small Meal promotion is making a come back and will be replacing the $5 McFeast meal.

The promotion is accompanied by the release of our new El Maco Range, which includes:

Crispy Chicken El Maco
Crispy Chicken El Maco with Crispy Jalapenos
Beef El Maco
Beef El Maco with Crispy Jalapenos
El Maco Shaker Fries (free with every large meal and is also available to be purchased by itself for 50 cents)
Mozzarella Sticks with El Maco Salsa (4 sticks per serving)

The Aussie Angus burger will also be disappearing at midnight tonight!

    Anyone ever tried this "el maco"? Looks interesting…and mozzarella sticks take me way back to my childhood in USA. They were my fave and suddenly discontinued

      Former crew member here. Beef El Maco was around in 2006 for a short period, from what I remember there was a definite salsa taste but nothing too strong so I'm interested to see what it's like today. Also pretty sure the 2006 incarnation was as big as a Quarter Pounder whereas this is smaller.

      I remember the El Maco's from over 25 years ago when I worked at Maccas. They were the best burgers I'd ever had, and ate heaps of them when we 'accidentally' made too many of them near the end of each nightshift. Hope they are still the same…

          I'm pretty sure Big Mac's are still the same size, but in SA (& WA too I believe) the buns for a Quarter Pounder, McFeast, & McChicken used to be nearly as big as a Whopper.

        I thought Maccas only ever made burgers after they were ordered? It's HJ's that make in advance during peak, hence the times that get marked on the packet on what time to throw out.

          They all premade them about 15 years ago, then they shifted to making them at order time. If you got near the end of the 15 min window melty cheese goodness.

          this fancy 'cook-to-order' business has only been around for a few years.. before everyone premade burgers..

          the trick to get a fresh one was to simply ask for no ketchup or something and they had to make a new one, then you just added ketchup anyway

      He hasn't been CEO since the late 90s. The executive board made him step down and replaced him with a conservative figure so that shareholders would accept the new direction they were taking at the time more seriously. He entered retirement and basically vanished from the public eye.

      He died peacefully in his sleep in late-2016 and was honoured with a 21 gun salute.

          I assume he would be pretty decomposed after 3 years but admittedly I haven't seen the body and I don't want to twist my assumptions into facts. If you'd like to perform your own investigation, he was reportedly buried at the old McDonald's farm, where his father Ronald McDonald Snr successfully raised chickens, pigs and an assortment of other animals.

    Ugh. My local Maccas marks the 'Small Meal' option for the $5 promo item as unavailable during these promotions so it can't be ordered through the app. They also don't honour it in store. Tightwads.

    I will still be getting copious El Macos with shaker fries.

    They also don't stock sweet mustard sauce for the nuggets. I despise them.

    Is this on now or maybe in selective stores I just ordered it enjoyed it and seen my card has been charged $9 for it. Was $9 the old price of the meal. Damn really wish I took that receipt now.

        This is not happening in QLD as far as I can tell, have tried a half dozen stores over 3 days, all are > $9.30 - $9.50 for the small meal.

      yes i found it on my app, on the drop down list u choose small meal, but noticed it was missing from the kiosk when i tried to order it from there in store. So effectively if its in the app you can you order it after 5pm but probably not after midnight.
