    Try and get her to lean more towards making an informed decision rather than brand alignment. In 2019 there are superior options across the board.

    Canon is a wonderful camera company with a rich heritage but these things are computers now. Canon put all their eggs in DSLRs but the industry has moved towards mirrorless technology. As a consequence they are multiple generations behind the competition. Compounding this is the use of less advanced sensor tech. Image quality is still good but there are cheaper options elsewhere that are substantially better.

  Deal breaker, I saw it on the website that the price is $1189 after $200 cashback, but it's now $1289 after $100 cashback. Almost pull the trigger, maybe not.

  I think it is note worthy that Canon changeable lens cameras now carry a 5 year warranty, other brands do not go past 24 months!!!
