    So cheap. Ridiculously great deal.

  • +2

But why wouldn't you just use HN to pricematch?

    • -2

Of course you could, but there are generally more Officeworks stores around than HN stores.

      • Use HN to price match as in

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/500390

        • -2

You would only be able to get HN to pricematch tonight, as tomorrow their price ($888) will be cheaper than JB Hifi's price ($899)

          • +3

@b-radicool: garratt torlesse is saying ask OW to beat HN's price tomorrow

      • Thank you got 1

    • They'll change the price first thing in the morning i imagine. Might as well take advantage of this now.

      • says end 29th

        • +1

I mean ow will change price to the cheapest so price match won't be possible

          • @Mlapa: Price match will still be possible, price beat won't be possible.

  • Damn the price dropped on this quick

  • is it better than p30 pro?

    • +8

      Yes to me.

    • The p30p has a much better camera.

The samsung is better in most other areas.

    • -1

Not really if you consider P30 Pro's Zoooooooooooming camera

  • +1

Aren't they still running the $500 gift card offer?
    Wouldn't that be $399 then?

    • -2

Of course they aren't and hence the price drop!

      • +2

        It is indeed running

        • +1

Doesn't it require the phone to be over $999?

          https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/jb-mobile#45

          • +1

@tchuy1: That was the old, original deal from about a year ago. That involved essentially receiving a $500 credit which could only be used on a phone over $999.

Nowadays, however, we no longer do that and instead give an outright gift card which can be used on whatever you want that is sold by JB. Obviously the logical thing in this scenario would be to use it immediately on the phone you're about to buy.

            • @Shekster: And it's a 12 month contract only yeah? I won't go on a 24 month. Only 12.

I'm already with Telstra, but plan is to get a Woolies/Coles new sim, port that number to this deal. Then message Telstra to port my current Telstra number to the contract.
Pretty sure I read someone doing that.

      • TGG are so you can price match

    • What is this $500 gift card offer?

    • +1

Can confirm that the $500 giftcard offer works with this phone deal - just got home from doing exactly this, paid $399 for the phone. Whether or not both are possible tomorrow is a different story.

For those that don't know, this is the deal:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/496486

    • +1

      $399 + $780 for the plan

  • +17

Note 10 Plus discount would be mint.

  • +4

Just be aware this is the not the + variant.

  • So cheap

  • -7

Would you get this or a s9+ for $799

    • This. The S9+ isn't that good unless you really want a headphone jack.

  • Do you call Officeworks or walk in store to price match?

    • calling the hotline works, but I think the line closes at 8pm

    • -1

When you are ready to insert or tap the card

    • Just did that.
Pick up a card to say note 10.
At the counter ask for a price match.
They call the manager. The manager looked at jb website and ok the price…

    • +5

Not if Officeworks changes their price before you can do so, which they will most likely do.

    • +1

      Terrible deal!

Can’t wait to see the amazing first deal you post.

  • +2

Man, if my note 9 512/8gb wasn't still performing like a champ I'd be all over this.
Pity about the 3.5mm jack though…

    • lack of it?

      • +1

Yeah, lack. I prefer wired headphones. Bypasses all this aptx/hd/adaptive migration which will make headphones redundant sooner than wired alternatives. Plus sound is always better wired, even allowing for generally average dacs in phones.

    • +1

The same can be said about my Note 8…

  • This or Redmi Note 8T?

    • +6

      Lol.

    • +1

This considering the s pen, camera, reverse charge, perfect size , brand name, local warranty with max 3 day return repairs and support

  • Do we have to wait until Friday (tomorrow) to purchase or are they selling at this price tonight (Thursday) ??

    • Selling now go OW price match before they drop their price

    • Go price match to OW now before they drop their price! Copped for $854.05 just now.

      • Or $843.60 if you price match Harvey Norman ;-)

        • As per my other comment. I got refused today by OW with HN price beat. JB Hi-Fi is a good alternative for savings today. Otherwise, wait for tomorrow with HN, if OW didn't price match :)

          • @DardyMate:

You may have been refused, but that doesn’t mean others such a myself were…
So people might as well try and might be pleasantly surprised like I was :-)

          • @DardyMate: try few different ow's

            • @capslock janitor: Next OW is a bit of a distance from me. Other guy I spoke to prior to buying this got his discounted at OW from HN.

    • Answered my own question by going to JB and purchasing tonight. JB Kedron have 8 left in the Aura color. Enjoy Black Friday! :)

  • +1

No storage expansion, 1080p screen and no 3.5mm jack overall not a very good phone for that price.

    • 1080p phone???

      • +2

        Yep the resolution is 1080p

        • +1

I have the s10 and I actually found no noticeable difference between QHD and FHD+. So I have the s10 running at FHD+ as it saves battery.

    • -3

Bro resolution is like megapixels in the sense that more doesn't necessarily mean better. I remember seeing in a blind test Apple's 720p phone beat out a bunch of 1080p.

    • No storage expansion on a Samsung??? Whyyyyy ???

  • +1

    cheaper than EPP prices

  • +1

    This or oneplus 7t

    • +2

I'd go this purely for the warranty

I really want the 10+ though dammit!

    • +1

Oneplus 7t is still probably more value for money, but I think Note 10 has better usability with Windows

      • Thanks, here is my personal consideration below:

Note 10: better screen?, features on the camera and video recording, local warranty, cross control with windows 10, Block private number?

7t: Much faster update, slightly worse camera at lowlight, aptX HD, $200 cheaper.

On the other hand, I can get a used note 9 for $630 with a 12-month warranty.

there is other features but not important to me.

So I will get a cheaper phone and the $200 saving can go to my camera. But If I break the cheaper phone within 2 years…I will get Samsung next time…
It is also because I take good care of my phone.

  • +2

Cheers. Purchased one right now for $854.05

Originally price matched with Harvey Norman ($888) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/500390#comment-8034350
But was rejected, good thing I saw this page and price matched with JB Hifi!

Though, you might be successful with Harvey Norman even though their offer starts tomorrow. See the link :) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/500390#comment-8033799

Same got the last one at Glen Waverley Officeworks. Doubt there will be any stock at Officeworks tomorrow from what they guy told me.

      • +2

Hence, the reason why I drove straight to Officeworks! I got the Aura Glow (for the missus), which will be delivered tomorrow for pick-up. We did it zhead13, my fellow OzBargainer.

  • $854.05 for note 10 vs $799 for s10e
    Who wins?

    • +3

Easily the Note 10. Extra camera and bigger battery despite no headphone jack

    • +2

I'd personally go for the Note 10, but that's my preference. I'm currently using an S10e, which I got from the previous JB Hi-Fi $99 upfront and $65 x 12 deal.

  • +2

Wow good deal. Fingers crossed for a 10+ deal though. Don't think the 10 is enough of a jump from my 8. The 10+ OTOH…..

  • +1

Amazon have dropped their price to $899

    • 3.5% cash back, close to price match at OW

    • I wonder why. It's not like they have a price guarantee?

  • Got one from OW, North Ryde with price beat, thanks OP.

    • was there at 9:15 and they said no stock :( i'm guessing i just missed out or they caught on and removed it all

      • bummer :( hopefully, you'll get a similar price over the next few days.

  • I've got the note 10+. Get the toughest case you can as I've cracked the front, repaired under insurance and the back on 2 occasions for the slightest drops.

It's fragile as hell. Good phone otherwise.

    • And this was in a case.

      • I fitted mine in a Spigen Liquid Air case.

This doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

    • +1

      Any recommendation for case?

  • +2

Wait and spend a little extra for the Note 10+.. that's the true upgrade.

  • Black Friday or Cyber Monday…. Which one is best to get a good deal?

  • +7

Damn really did not need a new phone
