Have been using this for the last 4 years, great lock, very convenient.

    • I can't seem to find many details or reviews about this lock by searching, maybe you could answer a few questions to help me make a decision?

      1. What does vacation mode do?

      2. Is it easy to configure, such as adding new fingerprints and pin codes?

      3. I think I read somewhere it automatically locks itself in case you forget, but can you turn this off to leave it unlocked? For example if we have a party and want everyone to let themselves in?

        Hi mate,

We have a different variant (Samsung Ezon Fingerprint SHS-H700 / SHS-5230) but the functions should be the same so I will try to answer based on that:

        (1) Pretty sure Vacation mode means the option of unlocking using a PIN code instead of fingerprint (e.g. when you are not at home and need to give a friend or relative access, you can tell them the PIN and they can unlock using the touch panel)

        (2) Super easy

        (3) Yes, that function of auto-closing can be enabled or disabled. We have it enabled because of the convenience.

        Cheers.

        • Ok great, thanks for that!

  • Anyone had any experience with the non handle types?

    • yup ask away. Very happy with it. Lasted years already. Recently upgraded to a biometric lock - which ends up being far quicker to get in as no need to input a code.

      • which model did you get? seen a few on ebay from Korea that are much cheaper than local versions

        • Sorry I'm a bit late, but it's the SHS-1321. Think I paid $120 3 years ago.

Not much detail in the post, so:

    • Keyless entry for up to 100 fingerprints or 100 users by PIN
    • Long battery life from 4 x AA batteries - minimum 12 months over 10 entries per day
    • 2 mechanical backup keys, and batteries included
    • Affordable price for an integrated handle and biometric keyless entry
    • Automatic locking function

Samsung's keyless digital mortise lock offers security and convenience in a stylish housing and design. A new install can be completed on a 38-60mm thick door with a minimum of a 115mm lock stile. This lock is universally handed for left or right handed installations. If you or a loved one has ever been locked out of the house, going keyless is a simple decision. No more keys to hide, or get cut and copied. Giving access to trades, guests, or friends has never been easier. It's 100 user capacity allows you to register multiple users each with their own PIN, and 100 fingers to the biometric reader. Automatic locking allows you to feel secure whenever you leave the house by locking behind you whenever you go out. This can also be set to manual if you're in and out of the house frequently. Our products come complete in the box with all of the parts you'll need including 4 AA batteries, and 2 mechanical backup keys.

      Thanks! Team work ;)

  • Would this be ok to use in apartments?

    • You will still need to carry keys for the main door?

  • Is it really hard to install those kind of door lock? or it has to be installed by professional?

    • If it's replacing an existing deadbolt type lock (so holes already drilled) then normally quite easy.

Can vary depending on placement of the deadbolt / door handle etc.
If the deadbolt is above the handle then probably ok.

    • I basically had to do everything from scratch to install this lock. You'll need to mortise the door and striker box, drill holes using 7mm and 24 - 32mm hole bits.

Tools needed: drill driver, drill bits, chisel (24 mm), spade bit (24 mm) and square ruler. Budget about 20 to 30 dollars for the drill bits if you haven't got them already.

YouTube is your friend here, but it did take a lot longer than I thought (about 4 hours).

  • Can't find it in local store or on the website now… No longer carried ?

  • It was a special order at my local Bunnings for me. Ask at the special order desk with I/N: 0132428.

    • Did you end up getting yours after ordering? My local said it's listed as unavailable to sell and it usually does that when there's either been a recall or it's been replaced by a newer model.

Yep, ordered end of November, received in about a week. When did you try to order? It may be sold out then?

        • Yeah it was just today. Really wish our lock died a few months ago instead haha
