    thats a really good price

Most definitely, it's a shame tho that most apps aren't really scaled or laid out properly for this size display. Sad they kind of gave up on Android tablets

      • +1

Can you give me some examples, because I've just bought one but was also considering the ipad pro.
I draw a lot but also wanted something to play retro games (emulators) and other things that android seems easier to use, but would also consider the ipad pro even though its more expensive.

Facebook app sucks on Android tablet Instagram and other mainstream apps. Comes down to app developers putting in more effort into updating and creating apps for device operating systems with the majority of devices. In this case it's pretty one sided that there are more iPads out there.

The review is a good indication of the differences between the two.

No doubt the tab s6 is a good value device at the price especially with the included a pen, the iPad is more expensive and the pen has to be bought seperate

Speakers in the S6 definitely blow the iPads out of the water and the screen is better except for the lower fps then the ipad. the emulators on Android are good with also the ability to connect a Xbox or ps4 controller to the Android tablets , I think you can do it on iPads but they aren't as well supported as it's not as easy to modify.

          • @markdownhunter: Thanks for that, I'm pretty happy with my purchase then!

I think you can't sideload apps on the ipad pro so that would be a bit annoying with emulators etc, but it looks a bit better for drawing imo!

          • @markdownhunter: Instagram sucks on iPad too. No native app

        • At this price point would you suggest the tab s6?
Gf wants to start drawing digitally and ive been looking for a good tablet for her

          • @Razrazza123: For drawing it is great. Well the S4 is. If you can get one of those somewhere cheap might be a goer. But if the S6 is the same or better. Get it.

          • @Razrazza123: If money isn't a factor take the iPad pro. It's definitely pricey and you got to buy the pen extra . But if you want value and a slightly slower pen stroke detection doesn't matter then go S6

Thanks OP, nice find, excellent Tablet for the price..

  • Would Officeworks pricematch this?

    • As it requires a code on ebay I don't think so

    • Absolutely not unfortunately. I just asked.

A few days ago it came with free buds. I thought about getting that at full price then claim price protection a few days later with black friday sales, to get both the lower price and the buds.

In the end, I have S4 so will probably skip S6 and wait for S7 gen.

The keyboard cover is better for S6. It actually has an Esc key and Function keys.

    • And a trackpad!

      • Yes. I believe it's the first ever tablet keyboard for a mobile OS that has one. iPad will never have it.

But I actually don't like it having a Surface style kickstand. Kick stands are not good on your lap.

        • Apparently it comes in 2 pieces -the keyboard itself and the kickstand which has to be stuck onto the tablet ? Can anyone confirm this ?

          • @ultramic: That is correct.

It is attached by suction and I saw a guy test it on youtube. It is secure, won't come off easily.

          • @ultramic: reviews online show that is correct. It's 2 piece. Keyboard actually acts as front cover too!

            • @capslock janitor: The user reviews of the keyboard are terrible. Functionality wise.

              • @C0mbat: oh i hadn't watched specific reviews of keyboard but overview it seemed good…

                Do they go into specifics?

                • @lostn: I clicked link then reviews, apparently the back Magnet / adhesive strip is weak, and kicstand falling off..? That's it?

Keyboard magnetic adhesive strip too weak

Hi samsung, i just purchased my keyboard however, the book cover part doesn't stick onto the back. So when I'm using the kickstand, after about 20 mins, it just falls off. This is really disappointing because i paid $200 for this in Australia. Will you be issuing a fix or replacement? I don't want my tab s6 to get damaged because of the faulty adhesive. Why you didn't just use a magnetic attachment beats me. Can you please offer a solution to this? Can i get it replaced? In saying that, The keyboard itself is great and the track pad was a much needed feature. Next iteration should be backlit if possible. Thank you Mike

I’m really sorry to hear this has happened to you. We recommend taking your device to a service centre to have it assessed by a technician to determine the outcome. I have provided a link that would help you locate your nearest service centre: https://www.samsung.com/au/support/service-centre/ Remember, all visits require a booking - you can make yours via the link below: https://www.samsung.com/au/samsungstore/bookings/

For those that bought this tablet, I Googled the keyboard cover and found a company selling it for just $129 + delivery. I purchased one through eBay for slightly more prior to seeing this but the one I bought was the last in stock.

I'm in no way affiliated with them or have any knowledge/experience with the company. Please do your own research. Thought it's a good deal as it's selling for $199 at most places.

If someone wants to post it as a deal that's fine, I'm scared to post deals hehe, some of you guys are savage :)

@mikey26: Keyboard cover available on Samsung student portal at 40% off $119 delivered, if it helps anyone :)

            • @robzta: Damn, more expensive on the employee portal… A lot more…

  • Does the pen work for writing when in Dex desktop mode?

Or does the pen only work on certain note taking and drawing apps?

I need to present power point presentions from it on to a projector but then use the pen to draw/highlight stuff on the powerpoint.

I know MS surface can do this as it overlays pen writing on screen.

    • it works in dex mode.

  • Not really the same product, but the core m3 pixel slate with keyboard and pen is only $660aud at the moment if you can find a way to get it shipped from the US. Maybe a better value proposition?

    • +1

OLED vs. IPS, pretty big difference.
Bigger screen on pixel slate would make it better for productivity. This is perfect for media consumption.

      • Yeah true, and this much more portable

  • Damn missed it. Forgot to set up search alert :(

Will they restock? This is the best price

  • Does anyone who purchased have a more recent delivery ETA than Tuesday 17 Dec 2019?

I purchased within minutes of the sale being live, and don't mind the wait, just curious if there's any progress on the shipping.

    • +1

I got a call yesterday advising that my order won't be ready until Saturday to click and collect so it seems like there is a backlog of orders to fill.

      • Cheers for the response. Good to know it's affecting both shipped and pickup orders.

        • Nevermind. It's now out for delivery today. Tracking went from nothing, to on the Sunshine Coast this morning.

    • Mine is expected to be delivered 20th December (WA), however no indication of shipping as of today, queried and all they said was due to busy period, etc, etc. Hope they don't cancel and refund.

      • shipped?
