Damn, spent hundreds of dollars on Amazon this morning…

    • +1

you mean the Note 10 ;)

    • +3

spend hundreds more with the 5% off to balance it out

  • Does anyone know if you get cashback if you use an egift card?

    • -1

      No

      • +5

        I'm sure somebody knows.

    • Both have changed conditions to no in t&c 's recently .
      Any Ebay cards there ?

      • +4

I just went and checked both cash rewards and cash back both state they pay cashback when paying with gift cards on Amazon

        • Nice checking this is CR : You may not be eligible for Cashback:

If a gift card is purchased or used as payment.

          • @vivviv10: Fcuk CR then :P Shopback says it isn't a problem.

          • +3

@vivviv10: Ummmm cash rewards app under 'terms' it says…
            (Quote)
Purchases paid with gift cards are eligible for cashback
            (/Quote)

          • +1

@vivviv10: Incorrect, TA has confirmed paying with gift cards is eligible for cash back on cashrewards to me personally and on these forums.

      • Incorrect, TA has confirmed paying with gift cards is eligible for cash back to me personally and on these forums.

    • Shop back will pay you.

Cashback is only payable on order value (excludes taxes, shipping and packaging costs) and is valid on orders paid for with gift cards (not orders with Amazon credit)

    • Cashrewards says no if you purchase or use gift card.

Shopback doesn’t say anything about using gift cards but it says no to unapproved promotion codes… so I assume yes?

      • Incorrect, TA has confirmed paying with gift cards is eligible for cash back to me personally and on these forums.

        • +1

          Shopback's site says:

          Cashback is not qualified for:
          * Purchases of gift cards and the usage promo codes or Voucher codes not approved by ShopBack

          Cashrewards site says:

You may not be eligible for Cashback:
          * If a gift card is purchased or used as payment.

I'm going off exactly what the T&Cs say in the respective sites. If TA can give an authoritative statement as at today, then by all means happy to go with TA… for me, I bought from Amazon today using Shopback rather than Cashrewards for this very reason.

          • @jace88: Yea, fair point,

But third point under special terms.

Purchases paid with gift cards are eligible for Cashback.

I know it contradicts what you pasted, which I see too. But you certainly have reason to argue even without TA giving a statement. But I’ll raise this with TA.

            • @cloudy: I didn't realise it when I read it before under Special Terms… but you're right it does say pretty explicitly

Purchases paid with gift cards are eligible for Cashback.

Probably worthwhile them updating to prevent contradicting info like you suggested. Cheers.

              • +1

@jace88: Yea, so TA said the point you pasted is general points for all shops, hence the usage of may. But the special terms is store specific.

But TA has noted the confusion to look into.

        • Purchases OF gift cards and purchases made WITH gift cards are two different things.

      • nope, "• Purchases paid with gift cards are eligible for Cashback."

    • i think both will. did couple of transactions with cashrewards used gift card to pay full amount. no problem getting tracked within 24 hours.
shopback should be the same, i placed one order with them use half gift card half credit card, let's see how long it takes.

    • I'm pretty sure you can. It's only vouchers/coupons that don't allow cashback. Correct me if I'm wrong

  • Must new, spent 600 this morning. Anyway will grab 1000 for further

    • rich

      • Rich people won't be here. These cards never expire, better stock some. Boxing day is ahead anyway.

        • +1

          Rich people are here.

  • +5

    Actually it's 4.7% off

  • awesome buying

  • targeted!?

    • Just appeared when I opened the Suncorp benefits Shop Rewards.

      • Hey Jace, I'm a little confused atm. Is this discount only available to certain banks, people with insurance provided by suncorp? My main bank is stgeorge and since their cc is now terrible the only real benefit is westpac chain stuff so it might be worth opening an account. thanks!

  • +1

    Yes, FINALLY!!

  • 5% bonus, so do you get $105 for $100, or $105 + 5% bonus for spending $100?

Says 5% bonus for $50 and $100 Amazon eGift card. The options are:
    get $52.5 for $50
    get $105 for $100
    get $210 for $200

Guess no bonus if you purchase the $200 one?

  • Shopback:
Cashback is only payable on order value (excludes taxes, shipping and packaging costs) and is valid on orders paid for with gift cards (not orders with Amazon credit)

I thought Amazon eGift card will be redeemed into Amazon credit? They are different?

    Cashrewards:
Cashback not payable If a gift card is purchased or used as payment.

    • I think they are different. Amazon credit may be bonuses and refund type credit.

      • Yeh that’s promotional credit which you can sometimes get if you have a (valid) complaint about something eg Pokémon Sword and Shield preorders were delivered a few days late (due to a weekend) rather than on launch day as promised so Amazon gave out promotional credits if you asked.

    • From CW website:

Purchases paid with gift cards are eligible for Cashback.

  • Thanks Op. I buy a surprising lot from Amazon so happy to get gift cards whenever they’re on sale.

  • What is uplift egift card?

  • first of all, i need to be a customer of suncorp, right?

    • +2

Or any of the other companies in the Suncorp Network. I'm an AAMI customer

  • Quick question for those who have a Westpac CC added to Suncorp Rewards as a payment method - do you guys have any issues recently? This week I am not able to complete purchases in Suncorp app, it stalls on Westpac payment page.

    • I'm having that issue too; it goes to the westpac security check and fails to load page

      • yes had purchase for work discount program too fail on the Westpac confirmation page mid week - might be broader issue?

        • Tried to alert westpac to issue but they were a pain in the ar*e. Wanted me to spend hours on end contacting multiple departments to just get the issue looked at.

          • @Pcoder: I had same issue with Citibank credit card and had to get them to perma-allow it. Originally they just approved it as a one off but I said I use this regularly so they did something on their side to make it always go through (but I still need to do the SMS code).

    • +2

OK, I think I found a workaround. You can try purchasing on a computer instead of using the mobile app.

Go to https://online.suncorp.com.au, sign in, then select rewards on the right side to get redirected to https://benefits.suncorp.com.au/.

I managed to make a purchase from there using my Westpac CC.

  • Only for $50 and $100 cards

    • Actually it's for $200 as well because you get $210, exactly 5% uplift

      • ahhh true.. :D

  • +4

If someone needs them and don't have suncorp rewards, happy to help free of charge :)

    • Tipu just put through 1x $200 and 1x$100 for me. Appreciate it mate :)

      • +1

        No worries mate

        Enjoy!

  • thanks OP, stacked up a bit

  • wow cheers OP! is this just for black friday?

  • +1

Very good find! I just bought a $210 GC for $200. I noticed the discount is not exactly 5%, but any discount is better than no discount!

    • Technically it's 5% bonus credit rather than 5% discount.

  • Anyone know if you can use multiple gift cards on a single purchase?

    • +2

you can. when u add in the giftcard, it loads it into your amazon account forever so u don't need to keep retyping it in.

  • Amazon doesn't show the remaining balance in the gift cards I used after a transaction got over. Do I need to enter the cards again for the next transaction to use the remaining balance?

    • mine's still there. u sure u didn't exhaust the amount u loaded in?

      • All good. It shows now. Thanks!

  • I transferred $200 6 mths ago to an everyday account . I just logged in( computer and app ) and can't see any link to benefits .
Do I need more products ?

    • Different app for banking and rewards. Look for suncorp app vs suncorp bank

      • Thanks that worked :)

2K total limit finishes 2/12 but 1k per day .

        • unless you sure you will spend the amount very soon. otherwise do not load too much. 5% off (better then the 5% bonus) would show up eg.last auspost deal.

    • I put $10 in mine :)

  • it's ovaaaaaaaaa. but they still do 3% off any amount above 5

  • Is it possible to pay for Amazon Prime with Amazon egift card?

    • do not think so. in US you can buy prime giftcard, it is like a gift card only for getting prime membership. we do not have it here,so …
