This is an excellent antivirus, but for most people the free version, Kaspersky Security Cloud will be sufficient. Kaspersky, is arguably the best antivirus there is, but I don't use it myself.

You don't. There's a number of antiviruses which have very minimal system impact, even on low end systems. Kaspersky isn't one of them, but it's usually lighter than Windows Defender.
NewEgg got breached and got 1/2 million customer records stolen including credit card details.
Just a word of warning that Kaspersky geo-lock their pricing and activation of the software based on the country you are buying from.
In this case you would need to use a VPN connection to authentic the serial number as it will only activate for US/Canada region.
