If you think you will use data monthly after 12m then maybe better off with 24 months plan total cost $32GB $864 | 128GB $1008

32GB Rrp $729

Min. Total Cost is $1008 over 24 months. for the 128gb so might be better deal if its 10gb for 24months

    • yeah I should have added that in post

can you use the SIM card it comes with in a phone or is it tablet only?

Telstra reps told me you'll get in trouble using a tablet sim in phone because they're cheaper and you didn't pay for the right to use it in a phone. Don't know if it's the same with Optus.

    • There is usually no difference, unless its only locked to data, but they have a phone number assigned either way

    • I got the iPad Pro 10.5" with 100GB two years back, the SIM card has been in my iPhone (work provided phone with no SIM) ever since I started the plan except for the few times I've used it in my mobile broadband router (because I've come close to my data limit). It can't receive calls or SMS/MMS but I only use it for work emails, what's app messaging and iMessage which it does without issue and now that my contract ended last month I signed up to this deal last week (went with 128GB with 25GB data over 12 months) and the SIM is still in my iPhone without any problems.

EDIT: Plan on giving the iPad 10.2" to my mum for Christmas.

I know from previous experience that if you make a call or receive a call through the tablet sim you would get charged a ton but otherwise would be fine.

    • The data Sim cannot receive or make calls/sms
You can put it into any device you want, might need to setup the APN correctly.

  • I am wondering will ipad get 5g upgrade when 5g phone comes out?
