Ryobi 18V One+ 4.0ah Brushless Line Trimmer Kit $269 (Limited Stock) @ Bunnings

110

Found this deal and many other on Ryobi website. The 18V brushless line trimmer skin alone is $205 and 4.0Ah battery is $145. Bunnings Rydalmere didn't have this on display yet, I had to ask quoting the item number and they only had 14 kits. The boxes were still stacked on the top shelf.

Model: RLT1833BL4
Item Number: 0014891 (use this when asking your local Bunnings)

I wonder how long the battery will last on this? 5mins?

This kit has actually been available at Bunnings for ages. I bought mine for same price back in Feb i think? For a brushless kit it's a really good price. I did have to hunt around a few stores for stock though. Most battery trimmers are hopeless, but this one being a brushless motor is actually worth it with more power and efficiency. The 4ah battery lasts just long enough for my front and back yards (800m2)
P.S plus they come with a crazy long warranty if you register online (5 or 7 yrs, can't remember)

    • I think the kit goes on sale from time to time? I’ve been stalking Bunnings but never saw this kit.

  • Thanks OP - going to head into Bunnings Lidcombe NSW to pick this up along with the edge trimmer with skin only.

  • How is this unit better than the one in the $99 black and decker 18v line trimmer and blower deal from Kmart?

    • That probably is not brushless therefore not as powerful.

    • This kmart one is skin only?Should buy charger and batteries?

      • Oh sheet really? I'm such a noob on line trimmers just assume it was ready to go

I'm a contractor and use in my hedge trimmer also have a 6mah they last as long in trimming as the originals.

  • On Friday I purchase a Ryobi 4.0ah 18v battery and charger for $99 at Bunnings, Springvale VIC for a friend. They bought the line trimmer skin not realizing there was no battery or charger included for what they thought was a bargain. Did not research too much when spending other peoples money.

    Other specials:
    Ryobi Batteries 18V 5.0 ah x 2- $200
Ryobi Battery 18V 5.0 ah with Rapid Charger - $149

These are at Springvale, VIC store and still available.

    • Heads up that the "other specials" are the usual prices. I bought a pair of the 5ah batteries earlier this year for $199.

    • Get refund if your friend hasn’t unboxed them?

  • Has anyone tried to fit a speed feed head off a petrol brush cutter on these.

  • Would it much of a difference if I buy a brushed or brushless line trimmer?

Only have a small garden. Will use it with my lawn edger expand it tool.
