  • Why would anyone buy a 16 hr charger instead of a 1 hr charger?

    • +10

Because slow charging is better for the life of the batteries. Heat is what wrecks them.

Not saying either of these chargers is great.

      • Problem with that is that slow chargers are by default dumb chargers. A fast charger used at a moderate rate is my preference. I like to set a charge rate that takes about 1.5 to 2 hours.

  • Thanks :D bought 2 * Eneloop AA $7.99

4 * AA pack now appearing as $29.88. Probably the same thing as the 4 * AAA.

Yes, out of stock at the discounted price unfortunately. Safety nazism means people won't send batteries overseas by airmail anymore.

  • Don’t panic, eneloops will come down in price, now rechargeable lithium 1.5v AA and AAA batteries are becoming available from more manufacturers.

For those who are hoarding eneloops (Ozbargain legends) technology once again strikes.

  • +5

Meh. I’d rather just buy em from Ikea.

    • Why

      • +4

Because they are cheaper and are actually very good quality rechargeable batteries.

        $13 for a 4 pack of AAA (900's)
        $15 for a 4 pack of AA (2450's)

There's absolutely no reason to panic buy Eneloops.
I own both both and there is no performance difference between the brands, even after 3 years of continual cycling.
Actually, the Ikea's have higher capacities than the Eneloops, so it's entirely possible they even slightly outperform them. I don't notice it though.

I reckon the charger is the most important component.
I spent up big on a Memmorex charger… best purchase I ever made.

  • The pros are also out of stock

Sorry I got the last pack.

  • Missed out on Eneloop AGAIN😭

    • +1

Regular eneloops and chargers available again now with in stock date of 14 December.

  • AAA's are back in stock via this link

    • It seems to be gone again.

  • Cant say I'm impressed with Amazon's service on these. Two weeks later and they haven't even shipped yet.
