The all new Schick Hydro 5 – The Best Shave for Your Skin.

Schick Hydro is a revolutionary new razor, with many first-to-market technologies offering a brand new shaving experience for men. Schick has completely rebuilt the men’s razor towards total skin care. As the average male spends 3,000 hours of his lifetime shaving, the call for more than just a razor has finally been answered. Thousands of kiwi men have already tried and are converted:

“Smoothest shave ever. I may only be 18, but I can grow a decent beard, this thing took it all off without so much as a jag or a snare. I’m sold”. – Sam, Auckland
“The Schick Hydro 5 definitely gives one of the best if not THE best shave I have ever had and will be happy to buy more blades and continue to use it as my regular razor. Cheers Schick” – Fraser, New Plymouth
“What an awesome clean close shave. Would highly recommend and now thrown out the old 5 bladed razor. A!++” - Jason, Wanganui
“Easily the most comfortable shaver on the market and very good in regards to shave closeness. Will not be changing shavers anytime soon. Good work Schick”. – Matt, Auckland
“Best shave I’ve ever had!” – James, Palmerston North

  • I love these razors, thanks for posting. Also bought the K Swiss shoes they had on offer :D

  • Bah…was just posting this when I saw this, good deal IMHO

  • +2

My blade is still cranking from the freebie deal ages go!

  • Great deal, considering a 4 pack refill is $15 alone.

Here you can get 10 blades for $26 essentially.

    • Don't you get a blade with each handle too?… making it 12 blades for $26.

      • 8 blades in the refills + 2 in the actual handle = 10 :)

        • +1

I guess I was mixing 5 blades with 5 refills. Forgot they were only 4 packs!

  • Does anyone know if the quadro blades will fit on these handles? I have quite a few quadro blades left over but last time I check coles they only had the "freestyle" quadro handle with the built in clipper and no longer sell the quadro blades?

    • +12

I have a pile of Quattro Titanium blades and they do not fit the Hydro handle. I made them fit by modding the Hydro handle (you need to trim down one side of the connector). I think it will still work with hydro blades, but I haven't tried it.

Lol. Part 'dedicated-ozbargainer', part 'macguyver'. +1 for inventive cheapsk8-ery :)

      • +2 for said reasons :)

      • Actually what I meant to include was:

pics or it never happened :)

        • +3

          Modded handle
          Alt text

          Hydro handle with Titanium blade
          Alt text

I used a scalpel and shaved the knob down until it looked about right

I'm sure the change was done to make the old blades incompatible (rather than to stop plonkers from installing the blades upside down). The Titanium handle sucked, as it would fall apart if you knocked it against anything too hard.

  • I got this razor from the freebie deal, but I dont like it. The gilette fusion is better IMO.

Edit: nonetheless, still a good deal!

    • yeah I prefer fusion rather than this. My Fusion lasted longer than Hydro. And to those who abused Canberra in the Free Fusion thread

Suck on that, I got the blade

  • shipping makes it not a good deal IMO

$26 for 10 blades… DE converts know that EXCELLENT blades and a better shave can be had at $26 for 50.

    • +1

      What is a DE convert?

      • Double-edge razor. Ol' school.

    • Now your talking Seb - once you go DE you never look back. However, this is a great deal for those still stuck to the hyper expensive offerings of Schick and Gillette - companies that use the old marketing trick of changing their 'systems' to make you buy new handles and blades.

    • $26 for 50? Shiiii I got 100 Feathers for $30 shipped :)

    • Thanks to these comments, three hours of research and $70 later I have all the necessary tools to break my DE virginity heading my way in the mail.

  • Already bought this before I found it here! :)

  • sweet deal. :)

  • W00T :) Got the email about this, so quicky grabbed x2 :)

Awesome price for $25~ with 2 x razors and 2x packs of 4! Considering just alone the 4pk is around $26 ~ normally

    • The 4 pack is normally $15 from Chemist Warehouse. Still a good deal though.

      • +1

Coles online shows the refills at $12.59

        • Coincidentally Coles have them on special this week at the above price - normally $19.25

  • Gillet is better

  • +1

I too am still using the original blade on my freebie hydro5 and its fine.

The trick is to dip the head in a jar of metho, shake it off and store after you finish each shave.

I have shaved once every two days probably for the last two months or so on the same blade and it gives me a close shave every time.

The only reason these blades go blunt is from rust.

My dad shaves once a day with gillette fusion and does the same trick as me - he used to use one blade a week, now he uses one a month or less.

  • Thank the good lord, I haven't had to buy into the multi blade bs since I went old school :)

  • I got one of these a while ago in the freebie as well as the free gillette one and think the schick is the better razor.

  • +3

Great deal but very disappointed the razor has only 5 blades (the 5th blade always seems to miss something) - i am still waiting for the soon to be released solar-powered 10 blade Gillette SuperFusion Razorwire version

  • how about - Schick Hydro 5 Razor - Ebay - BRAND NEW AU $5.99 +AU $6.99 postage http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Schick-Hydro-5-Razor-BRAND-NEW-/1…

    • Not as good as this deal cause you dont get + 4 extra blades :)

  • +1
