Mine keep dispensing, on its own, so I threw it out. Given you are washing your hands, anyway, I would prefer one you actually touch to dispense.

    • I prefer a non-touch one as sometimes I have greasy or oily hands. If I leave grease on a manual dispenser, the next time I wash my lightly-soiled hands before eating, I'd get grease on my finger which takes longer to wash.

Sometimes you just need to clean the sensor, if that doesn't work leave it off for a few weeks solves the issue 🤣. Mine's 7 years old now.

    • There's a sensor next to the dispensing hole that picks up infrared light from the clear oval on the front. The sensor can be falsely triggered if it's dirty or the unit is placed in a very bright environment. I have 3 from the amazon deals and they have all worked very well.

I have two and they works perfectly well, just have to change batteries every couple of months.

  • Mines working fine, from the last deal.

I have 2 and both are working great. I changed batteries in one of these in nearly one year and other doesn't need it till now. I don't need to buy refills. I fill the normal liquids myself.

      Whats your normal liquid?

    • How do you open it to refill? Have had a nightmare of time trying to refill same bottle without using a new one.

      • I’m not sure if this contributed to the activating when not near it but I drilled a hole is the top of the bottle and just used a funnel. You probably need to fashion a plug for it - maybe a cork.

      • I've been using a screwdriver. Just insert a screwdriver into the side of the cap, a little extra push and the cap/lid pops open.

I've heard there have been different versions of this thing made - the one I have is I suspect the most recent one, bought a year ago, and it has been good. My wife however hated it as - for her - it used to go off when she didn't want to wash her hands. I suspect it was simply the way it was positioned meant the sensor was getting false alerts. Anyhow, it's now in the master ensuite where we have two sinks. Hers has an old school pump that you need to manually operate, whilst mine is in the future where we have hoverboards and hands free soap dispensers. We are both happy.

Have replaced the batteries once, and as for refills - way back when the first ran out I put it in hot water and the lid popped off. Ever since then it is easy to open and refill. I just use standard liquid soap - recently bought some 1L Palmolive for about $3 via amazon, making it less than 80 cents per refill….

Yep, no need to buy the expensive refills from Dettol, just use a flat head screwdriver to pop the lid off and fill it up with your own refills.

Does the foam soap from Dettol work in these machines? Or only the regular liquid type?

        • Not too sure never tried it, but I think as long as it's not too thick it should be fine

        • I'd like to know as well, I've just got the no touch system and the amount it dispenses each time is just too much

        • been using that at the moment, it works fine

    • I just want one where you tap the top to dispense to avoid the sensor going off on its own. One hand taps, other hand underneath.

  • They allow only 1 unit to be added at discounted price.

  • NO TOUCHING!!

  • I fill mine wish dish washing detergent. Best thing ever.
