HOW MUCH??? Price in title please.

    • The price needs to be obtained from the agents as there are different options (Single Park or Park Hopper etc.) I already went when they had the 4 Days for the price of 2 last year.

      From FlightCentre

4-Day Disneyland Resort One Park per Day Ticket at a 3-Day Price
      Price from $445*pp

4-Day Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Ticket at a 3-Day price
      Price from $519*pp

10-Day Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Ticket
      Price from $699*pp

      • So about the same as the prices on the US resellers. e.g.: https://www.undercovertourist.com/los-angeles/disneyland-res…

        4 Day 1-Park per day US$300.95 ~ AU$442
        4 Day Park Hopper US$350.95 ~ AU$515

Obviously that's subject to currency flucs and assuming you have a means of payment that doesn't charge you Forex fees (e.g. 28 Degrees, ING, etc)

Think the 10 day one is only sold to AU/NZ residents so Flight Centre etc your only option in that case (but seriously, 10 days at Disneyland? I — and my kids — loved it but I think 10 days there would have driven me insane…)

  • still cheaper from US websites.

  • There’s very little discounted Disney tickets, and god is it expensive!

4 days cuz that’s how long it takes to progress in the line for any given ride?

    OMG…. 2 aduls 1 child:
4-Day, Park Hooper Disneyland Special Offer Ticket AUS/NZ Total: AU$1,011.56

    • +1

Better than the $1641. Child ticket is between 3-9 years (just to be aware) else they are considered adults.

      • Sorry, my bad, it was actually AU$1,532.00 for 4-Day, Park Hooper Disneyland Special Offer Ticket AUS/NZ.

After going to Disney World I cannot see me ever going back to Disneyland.

Less crowding, more space, more dining options, more worlds to explore, magic bands instead of shitty fast passes, better accommodation, just an infinitely better experience.

      yeah,but…Florida v California ;)

    • Disneyworld seemed massive compared to Disneyland. I heard someone say that Disneyland fits into one of the car parks at Disneyworld (not sure if that is urbanlegend of course!).

      • It's absolutely massive. You need to take PT to the different worlds. People spend their whole annual leave allowance here because Universal is close to, as well as Seaworld, Discovery Cove, shit tons of other places. It's amazing… seriously. Just take a look at the sat image on google maps.

        • Yes, when we were there they said that the disneyworld bus system was bigger than the San Francisco public bus network.

Don’t forget the flight Centre Amex offer!

  • First time going there, how many days do we need with a 7 and 5 yr old/ 4 days seemed excessive. any suggestions

You probably will need the 3-4 days as the queues are long and if you don't have FastPass, there will be a lot of waiting. However, with the kids ages (more so, their heights), they may not be able to do all the rides so check out the height restrictions on the website.

      • +2

Fastpass is the key to fitting stuff in — you can basically prebook for specific popular rides and it gives you a timed window when you can get on with minimal queues (under 5 mins usually).

At Disneyland you can either pay extra for the "MaxPass" product (allows you to book Fastpasses from the Disney app) or just use the free Fastpass system (you have to go to a ticket machine located next to each specific ride and request a Fastpass). In most cases you can only have one fastpass at a time, so you need to plan carefully.

It's only really the bigger rides that have fastpass though so if your kids don't want to ride those (or aren't tall enough) then it won't help much. Recommend downloading the Disney app as it has all the ride details with specific height restrictions (the fastpass rides are mostly either 100cm or 120cm).

Other great feature of the app is that you can book restaurants in Downtown Disney (better food than in the parks but long waits when we were there if you didn't have a booking) and preorder food from the restaurants in the park, which can save you time.

We only had 2 days there (one in Disneyland and one in California Adventure) but we packed in a heap with a bit of planning and careful use of Fastpasses and the app…

    • We did 5 days with a 5 and a 7 year old. Worked out great, especially if you want autographs from all princesses etc.
Remember, you will need to space it out because of the younglings. We hired strollers, which you should be able to get for much cheaper at the Walmart around 10 minutes from Disneyland.

    • 4 days will give you ample time to get on everything and give your kids enough rest between lots of walking, waiting and excitement. I did 3 days and rushed, it sucked.

Just organise fast passes ASAP before you go. Also if you have girls, do Bibbidi Bobbidi.

    • At least a couple to catch world of color and the fireworks / fantasmic and the parades … You can easily fill four days. Note depending on luck or not the fireworks are likely to be cancelled on at least one of the nights you are there.

4 days max with a 5 & 7 year old. Make sure you go on a weekday. Was there during Halloween and we had the same deal plus 1 day early pass (0700 entry). Blitzed through the rides with careful planning. Stayed 3 nights at tropicana hotel which was only a 5 minute walk from the Disney entrance. Clean no frills hotel and $$ but well worth it. Forth day we were able to keep our luggage in their lobby. We were able to sleep/rest for a few hours after having lunch outside the park. Maccas, ihop, buffet etc was just next door from the hotel. Damn having post travel blues just thinking about it.

Former Southern California resident and annual passholder here. If you can go any time, the most likely times to experience low crowds at Disneyland are when the Southern California annual pass is valid.

The "blockout" dates for that pass are a guide to the more crowded times of the year, when they block the locals from using their dirt cheap annual pass (which still costs only $US399 for the entire year; when I lived there it was $99 for the whole year, ah the memories!)

Obviously if you are stuck going over xmas you are out of luck, but if you can stay until after the American kids are back in school you can get some pretty light days. I do this every year and run into lots of Aussies and Kiwis in that third week of Jan.

The basic rule of thumb is to avoid all of the American school holidays (Dec 13-Jan 5, and then all of June, July and until 2nd week of August) and if possible, always avoid weekends.

But if you want more specific info about when the 'light days' are, the dates when SoCal locals are allowed to use their passes for 2019 and 2020 are:

    2019 Dec 2-5 and 9-12
    2020 Jan 6-10, 13-17, 21-24, 27-31
    Feb 3-7, 10-13, 18-21, 24-28
    Mar 2-6, 9-12, 16-19, 23-26, 30-31
    Apr 1-2, 13-16, 20-23, 27-30
    May 4-7, 11-14, 18-21, 26-28
Jun: totally blocked out due to US summer hols
July: totally blocked out due to US summer hols
Aug: first two weeks blocked, but valid 17-20, 24-27, 31
    Sep: 1-3, 8-10, 14-17, 21-24, 28-30
    Oct:1, 5-8, 13-15, 19-22, 26-30
    Nov: 2-6, 9-10, 12-13, 16-20, 30
    Dec 1-3, 7-10, 14-17, then blocked thru Jan 11

    • Good tips
We went in early March a few years ago and while there were crowds it was never crazy busy (I've seen worse at gold coast theme parks )

  • Any similar deals for other Disneylands? Like the Tokyo or Shanghai ones?
