  • how da heck is it 1080i/p it's not even 720p for god sakes!

    "Superb 1024 x 768 Resolution"

I'm so sick of these fake HD tvs!!!!!!!

    • Keywords: "HD Compatible" or "HD Ready"

I've had many an argument with my stupid friend who doesn't understand the marketing jargon. Just because these plasma can accept 1080i input doesn't meant it can display it properly.

Also, I've read conflicting reports about this plasma. Don't be fooled just because this panel is made by Samsung. There's a lot more to a plasma TV than just the panel.

Overall this plasma is still fantastic for the money, but don't expect it to be perfect.

      • “HD Compatible” or “HD Ready” is complete BS!

Even my dads 8 yr old chuncky flat screen can "accept 1080 content" all u need is a set top box which downscales the content!

    • It's still technically high definition. Same as the Panasonic 42" that are 1024 x 768 - the pixels are rectangular shaped.

      • nope it's technically not hd

"High definition television is the highest form of digital television. It has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is the same as a movie theater screen. This is possibly HD’s biggest selling point. The other is the resolution. High definition is the best available picture on a television. It comes in three different flavors: 720p, 1080i and 1080p. "

1080p=1920×1080, or 2,073,600 pixels in total

1080i=1920 × 1080 at half or about 1.03 million pixels

720p=720 pixels and a horizontal resolution of 1280 pixels for a total of about 0.92 million pixels

1024x768= 0.78 million pixels (NOT HD!!!!!!)
