      The S50 was actually a lot lower the other week, around $360, if you combined shopback 8% and zippay 10% discounts after the Amazon discounted price of $449.25 Delivered.
      Buyers remorse only purchasing one. Need another for upstairs, thinking of waiting for the S4 to be released in Oz. No Mop but reports are it is cheaper.

      No, you do not need magnetic strip. You can set restrict area, mop off limit area at App.

    I will wait until this vacuum is supported in home assistant. In the meantime… my Xiaomi 1st Gen is still very capable.

      Bought the xiaomi 2 in 1 mop & vacuum before and Gearbite were happy to exchange it for this one instead.

      Compared to the 2 in 1 xiaomi, it's able to climb steps better. I have built up tiles so there's a bit of a step up. I'd say our steps are roughly 2.5-3.0cm, so not sure if the other models can climb that high.

      It maps out the house a lot easier than Xiaomi and also seems like it moves faster. Xiaomi took a couple of times to map out the house, and it still wasn't perfect.

      The app is a lot more responsive than Xiaomi's app too, loads quite quickly.

      You can use the block out area if you don't want it going near things, i.e.: cables. But it seems like it can only do one block off area at a time? That's probably the only inconvenience of this one.

      Haven't done much mopping yet, but the mopping and water tank are together as an attachment, so you don't need to change out the dusk tank for the water tank like Xiaomi 2 in 1. So that's more convenient.

      Definitely an upgrade on the Xiaomi 2 in 1.

        Hi , for block off function, after you setting up one block area, you need to press add + off-limit area again, it will add another block area. You can set as many block areas as you can. You can also add as many mop off-limit areas for you carpet areas.

        The fact that you can't simply disable them in the app if you're in a single-story house.

        One of my rugs has a black/white pattern on it, and the stupid thing sulks about being on the edge of a cliff. You can cover the sensor as the gearbite rep said ^ but sometimes the (profanity) thing detects it and tells me to clean the (profanity) sensor.

        P.S. Upvoting for Gearite. They're great and I've bought 3 of the Xiaomi vac from them (xmas presents) and several Mi Band 3 watches. They're very fast with delivery.

      When you set up a mop off-limit area, vacuum will still sweep the area but will no go there if water tank installed.
