Definately not a like for like replacemnt code. Items on my watch list that worked with PILGRIM arent working with PUMPUP

    • +2

Same with my items… Was hoping to make amends for the regret of not jumping on some of the deals that have passed over the weekend.

      • I actually cant find anything to work with it. Perhaps it's not active? Or maybe just one of those codes where its just gamesmen/wireless1

Edit: just tested and it works on gamesmen purchase.

        • +2

It can't be, since PLATEAU is still active.

PUMPUP works at Mobileciti (e.g Sony XM3)

          • @smogg: this is bad. ebay cutting corners now.

    • Sames

  • +3

Same banana …does not work on my eBay plus items…hard to spot the ones where it works…

How do we feel about eBay testing various sales drivers with us to see which one works best? They have been doing this for years now and still don't know what works best?

    • +12

Used to get excited about these deals.
Now…meh could hardly be bothered, just go to Amazon and get a predicted amount of cash back.
With ebay need a ton of research to find the best discount code, only to be letdown.

      • +4

I haven't bothered for a very long time to look up an item on eBay to see if it was significantly reduced. It's all too hard with a ton of codes out there, each with their own limitations, and with all the price jacking.

  • +12

Code sounds more like an instruction to sellers.
Officeworks have pumped up the price for items on my watch list and it isn’t even included in the deal.

    • +4

Officeworks always excludes themselves from sales. Likely they’re adjusting prices permanently. Check their website for discrepancies

  • +11

Eligible items = nothing but price jacking.

    • Hence the discount code, it's direct instructions for the sellers

  • +41

    No deal listed.

If I said a shopping centre had sellers who were offering 15% off select items but you had to find the stores yourself, find the items and then at the checkout you are told if there is or isn’t a discount, would that be considered a bargain?

Unless you can list one item that is a bargain using this code it’s pretty much eBay advertising.

    • Cancelling my eBay plus after this, it's crap. Doesn't even offer free shipping like you get with Amazon Prime.

      • You do get free shipping on eBay plus items

        • I was editing my comment as you said that, but now that you replied it wouldn't let me update it…!
Amazon Prime is any item, globally. Don't know about others but for me it basically makes the streaming service a free inclusion.
Posts like this on ozbargain are useless, they should post actual items where the deal applies if we can't search "by deal" (or discount code) on ebay.

          • @pigmyfart: I'm neither anti-Amazon, nor Pro-eBay but Amazon also has it's exclusions AND it's not globally - sometimes it is during a promotion, but then there are still exclusions..

            I've come across plenty of:

Note: Not eligible for Amazon Prime

        • Not all items. I bought a freezer but still had to pay the $55 delivery fee from TGG. Buying a washing machine from them earlier in the year had no delivery charge with Ebay Plus, so it's hit and miss. And the majority of Ebay Plus sellers are more expensive anyway, so you get no net benefit from the subscription.

If ebay added a search tick box option for 'eligible items' sales, I think alot of bargain hunters would be a hell of a lot happier about 'eligible item' sales.

(I'm going to keep re-posting this comment on every 'eligible items' sale til ebay takes the hint)

    • +2

      Maybe you should email eBay.

      • +1

And ebay sellers would actually be able to see a spike in sales during these promotions

      • You can't email eBay

  • Ugh..I’ve fallen 5 cents short of the minimum spend requirement :(

  • -3

Have cash but cannot buy and will not buy without working offer…

Can someone actually talk to eBay about this? This is not good. Mr eBay please PM me.

  • +1

Wtf is an eligible item? No thanks eBay don't waste my time

    • +1

‘Eligible Items’ means all items listed on eBay.com.au where these terms and conditions are found and the coupon redemption code PUMPUP is displayed in the item listing.

Don't ask me where you find the terms and conditions for each item lol

  • -1

    eBay sucks

  • -2

    No bargain listed.

    • +1
      • -2

So just post the deal rather than the code. The code is only limited to certain sellers, so posting it is not helpful. In any case Ebay display the code in the listing so it doesn't require a separate Ozbargain post as a reminder.

        • +2

I didn't post the deal. I simply responded to the statement.

      • -1

So I have to look through 2 posts?

  • +2

Not sure we need to list these codes that are applicable to some items. A code is not a bargain. Please list bargains else this is just click bait.

  • +4

    (profanity) off eBay

  • +2

Pump up the prices more like it.

  • Eligible eBay strikes again and again 😂

  • +1

    Over these ineligible sales

  • We need to form a group to co-ordinate code checking on different products. I'm sure 100 people can easily check 10 items each covering about 1000 items.

  • +1

It makes sense to do eligible sellers or eligible categories. Having it as eligible items is stupid to say the least. They are losing eBay plus members, no wonder they are offering $50 gift cards to new sign ups

  • +5

Not a deal, if this was a bricks and mortar store the post would be removed.

  • PUMPUP? I feel deflated.

  • +3

Is it possible to make a poll to ban these "eligible" item sales from ebay, This is nothing but free advertising

  • Such eBay promotions are not ‘eligible’ to be on Ozbargain

  • In before "pumpup the prices"… oh wait…

  • Tried five Buy-It-Now items with the code and got an unhelpful "This code can't be applied to your order."

I agree with others that this is simply advertising.

  • Header says 10% off for non members. The item I wanted is listed as $395.00
    10% s/b $39.95 whwn puting PUMPOP shows only $15.00 off WTF………..

  • Header says 10% off for non members. The item I wanted is listed as $395.00
    10% s/b $39.95 whwn puting PUMPOP shows only $15.00 off WTF………..

  • +4

Might as well use the code JACKEDUP next time.

    • +1

      You mean PACKEDUP?

  • Correction for me………..I did put in PUMPUP so same result.

  • +1

I think that the rules should be changed so whenever an "eligible items" code is posted the OP at least needs to

    • identify what stores are eligible (or at least a minimum number of stores)
    • Link a few items from each in the description
    • Ensure that the items posted are indeed bargains

Otherwise I agree with the other posters when they say

    • this is free advertising,
    • the idea that I have to go on an Easter Egg hunt for the actual bargain is ridiculous, and
    • that we wouldn't hack this from any other store.
    • -5

Being made aware that there's a promotion that could be favourable is fine by me. It's not difficult to open the items to see if they qualify or simply add them to the cart and try the code. There's enough rules, rules, rules about the place, don't need anymore here than what there already is thanks very much. Takes 2 seconds to scroll past btw.

      • ONLY 5 seconds to skip a YouTube ad.

  • More like JACKUP

  • +1

Downvote, many of the eligible items under PILGRIM is no longer working with PUMPUP. such a joke.

  • still waiting for the 20% discount :-)

  • +5

Scotty needs to change the policy on these ebay deals. Just spam and no deals identified

  • +3

Why dont ebay allow you to search for items with the code?

  • So disappointed…

  • +1

Searching for these deals is awful, get a clue eBay.

  • -3

Oh cmon, since when has this become WhingeBargain? Takes 2 seconds to scroll past if you don't like it.

  • ebay is the king of garbage codes

  • eBay sucks

  • eBay plus is simply a scxm that cannot benefit from it and facing nightmares of price illusion.

  • Ebay Australia are shithouse. They seem to have good deals overseas though

  • Definitely not a replacement of PILGRIM. Quite a few items on my watch list is not eligible using this code.

  • +2

When will they stop with this “eligible items” nonsense? It’s like walking into Target and taking every item up to the price check scanner to see if a discount applies. Glad I didn’t renew plus. Go back to the old coupons which did what they said on the tin. Happily shopping on Amazon now with discounted prime (via AMEX offer), next day delivery, decent prices and cash back.

  • Still not a real deal. Site guidelines should be changed for "eligible items" nonsense like this.

  • +2

This deal for the Xiaomi Smart Air purifier 3 is reasonable at $229.46.

  • +1

Appears to be only for 1 transaction.
