Increased Referral Credit to $20 (Was $10) @ Ola

160

Ola has increased referral credit to $20.

Not a bad time to sign up.
Tried it for the first time yesterday with free credit was fine.
On other threads people have mentioned drivers can be a bit late and are ones who were not accepted by Uber.

If you don't have a referral use the links in the wiki.

Also, Ola have airport discounts:

They are just like uber - most ola drivers are also uber drivers actually.
All of them would rather take ola customers (instead of uber) as ola takes a much smaller cut from the fare

    • Interesting.
      Makes sense
My Ola driver kept calling himself an uber driver so I was confused. But it makes sense that he uses both!

The last time I took an Ola, the driver suggested Didi as it’s cheaper. But yeah, this guy was also an Uber and Didi driver

    • Literally what my driver told me last week when i caught the ola

      • Yep, same here. I've also found Ola regularly sends out discount codes to me (much better than Uber where most codes seem to be for new users only).

  • I've been using Ola since it launched in Aus. Cheaper fares than Uber most of the time but Uber has a better app and different cars. If you want a cheaper fare to get from A to B and don't care about the cars, Ola is better.

I use them mainly because the drivers get paid more. Downside is for short trips you may get a number of cancellations as the driver can see where you are going

    • No they can't - that's only on Didi, and only if they meet certain requirements.

I met a driver with uber, ola and Didi all in one, according to him, Didi will eventually dominate. I told him it won't as Australian will support uber for patriotism, and we debated in this for 20 minutes. Oh well let's time to prove.

    • Didi just ramped up their cut from 5% to 19% without consultation (in fact they say it was due to driver feedback!) and made it so to get that back you have to complete a certain number of trips in the week. They also temporarily ban you for rejecting jobs. Any driver who thinks Didi will take over needs their head read.

I ordered ola a few times and the drivers always not come. So one time after a driver hasn't come again I asked why this happened so often? The driver told me probably because the driver drives for uber and ola at the same time and gets jobs at the same time. So the driver decides to go for the uber one but just leave the ola customer waiting and waiting then cancel. 🤷‍♂️
So if you are gonna order ola maybe leave some extra time.

For some reason ola has been more expensive then uber. Last trip Ola wanted $65 and uber was $35. So make sure to check both.

Anyone getting payment errors when adding Amex cards?

have tried uber , didi, and ola. service usually the same. however on pricing I have noticed when I check ola before ordering, it is good, then 5mins later it jumps by 50-80%. it did this 3 times, and seems like a trap. that never happened with others so now I stick to uber and didi.

I'd really like an aggregator to just show the prices for each one.

    • Aggregator would be amazing. Please someone do this, I missed coding class.

  • Does the airport discount stack with referral credit?

  • Uber pool is generally cheapest even after discounts from ola or taxify.

Uber is quicker to arrive, I had many issues with Ola and Taxify/Bolt allowing a driver 10 minutes away to accept a job when there were drivers 1-2 mins away.

Also, the fare estimates on Ola and Taxify/Bolt can be under by 30-40%. Choosing the cheapest based on fare estimates is impossible. Never had that issue with Uber.

    My 2c.
