LG 55” C9 4K UHD OLED AI Thinq Smart TV - $2295 + 10% Back in Gift Cards @ Harvey Norman

176

Harvey Norman have the LG C9 on sale right now for $2295 with a bonus 10% back in gift cards so including that it comes to $2066 I think.
Bing Lee and The Good Guys have it for $2295 as well but no bonus like Harvey Norman.

Note that the page says:
“ENDS TOMORROW! Spend $500 or more and get 10% back in Harvey Norman Gift Cards”
I’m not sure if that includes the sale price of the TV as well but I don’t think so as either Bing Lee or TGG (can’t remember which [edit: it’s TGG]) lists the sale as ending on the 11th of December. Don’t hold me to that though. The bonus 10% in gift cards definitely ends tomorrow (Sunday 8th) though.

I haven’t had a look through eBay yet to see if there’s any listings at this price but with a better discount like those 20% codes, so if you’re interested in this I’d check there as well before making a purchase.

This has been sold for far far less

    • -8

As far as I can see it’s only been sold for less two times and that was back in November. They were only on eBay as well.

The best price before that was back in October for a bit over $2500
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/491686

I’ve been checking price and it’s been at 3k most of the time and the best this month was $2695 for a few days that ended back on the 5th.

      • +8

No it’s been sold for far far less. $1700 ish was the lowest I saw.

Yea, twice last month, on eBay, from Appliance Central. Once when they had a 20% off coupon and once when they had a 10% coupon. They also had it just under 2k back in September too. Postage from them is $85 on top for me and eBay doesn’t offer other payment methods that the stores do like latitude, for people that want to use them. Or if people have store gift cards.

Besides their sales this is the best price it’s been if you include the 10% in gift card as savings, even if you need delivery which when I checked was $20.
Appliance Central at the moment has it for $2280 -$100 off + $85 postage.

          • @shrtcphr: Good Guys have had it sub-$1900 with free pickup and no dinky gift voucher offer.

        • Ye, picked one up last Thursday from JB for $1712 😀 deal of the year!

          • @[Deactivated]: Can you post the receipt? I would get one at that price!

            • @wayl: Already have in other threads.

It seems if you live in NSW retailers won't price match. Victorians are having much better luck.

But if you can afford a 3 million dollar house in NSW you can afford $3000 on a TV.

It has, but as far as I can tell never from anybody that posts to Tasmania :(

Both the major eBay sellers (Appliance Central and Bing Lee) were priced at $2.3k with 20% off during black friday weekend. I'd take $300 or $400 off over $230 in HN gift cards 8 days a week.

      • It’s not been over $3000 for a long time.

Great TV. got it for ~$1.8K a month ago and have been loving it since.

C9 isn't dropping since B9's release. At this rate, I'd wait a month for CES 2020 when LG inevitably announces 10 series, which will hit a few months after that.

I feel I am the last person on OzB that doesn't have a 4K tv. One of these days

    • i dont even watch tv.

    • nope

    • Ur not alone,

      • For I am here with you

          Though you're far away

        • Still using a 32” 1080p myself.
Was gonna grab a cheap 55 or 65 Hisense or TCL but it seems the models in America that get praise aren’t the same hardware we get here.

I’ve gone to HN a few times to have a look at the different models but they had different media running on different models. Some had 4k image slideshows, some had 1080p movies, some had 4K demo content and most of them were playing free to air tv..

From what I saw, a large chunk of the tvs out there have lousy upscaling. Spending a lot on a tv doesn’t guarantee good viewing experience I guess. I can’t remember the model but I saw one I think a Samsung that was about $1400 playing free to air and it was so bloody blurry it looked like it had a layer of frosted glass in front of the screen.
This C9 was so nice I wanted to just stay there and watch the demo for a good while:

    • Not even full HD TV here.

    • My tv is still 720p

    • I love my Pannie 50" plasma.

this is regular "sale" price I think, was $2299 black friday but went with samsung Q75R as it just claps OLED in daylight sunny conditons. Best TV on market if conditions suit.

    • +2

Those days are now gone mate. We're in for cheaper B9 but not C9.

      • Disagree think c9 deals are close late dec/jan

        • I hope you are right.

          • @klownvandamn: will just take a eBay code with a max discount $500-$1000, plus boxing day sales coming

    • +2

Hahah, still banging that drum? You do realise that LG's 9 panels trump Samsung's Q7X series in virtually every metric including sunlight, as they lack the anti-reflective coating of the 8X (not that it's where you'd put a TV anyway). But sure, Jan, you have the best TV!

      • I said c9 was best tv on the market in the right conditions based on anecdotal experience, not sure what your going at brother.

  • +2

About $500 too expensive. Might as well wait for ces next month for next year's models.

$2295 with a bonus 10% back in gift cards so including that it comes to $2066 I think

    No. It comes to $2295.

  • +3

Why has this non-bargain not been removed?

  • Well and truly a non deal, cheaper on ebay. Comment for neg.

  • -4

There is a bargain here but it requires a little bit of negotiation.

I picked up 65 inch C9 yesterday from my local Harvey for effectively $2700 (cheapest ever ozbargain price). Here is how it goes.

Harvey is currently selling 65 c9 for $3495 plus 10% in gift cards. With a little bit of negotiation I paid $3450 for 3 items and got $300 in gift card, making the total $3150.

    65 C9 TV ($3100 - $300 gift card making it $2700) plus 4 year additional replacement warranty ($400) plus delivery ($50).

I am sure you can get better than eBay prices for the 55 inch model using the same.

So there is a deal to be had after a bit of negotiation. So negotiate away my fellow OzBargainers.

    • +3

They only negotiated that terrible deal because you were silly enough to buy an extended warranty which is pure margin for them and also the best commision paying thing to sell. Bad salesman will always package warranty in to bundles.

      • +1

I have used HN warranty before for a projector and got the projector replaced 3 years into a 5 year warranty period so I know the value of the warranty and wanted one for a $3000 TV and bought the warranty proactively because I wanted it and not because the sales person was clever. So thanks mate but I knew what I was doing.

        • +3

You got jipped in warranty. No need under ACL laws considering you paying that much on a tv. Must last 6-7 years

    • +1

      Meant $3000 minus $300 and not $3100

    • +3

Anyone who buys an extended warranty should have their OzBargain licence revoked!

      • +2

Extended Warranty cancelled and $400 refunded. New cost of TV is $2700 (3000 - 300 gift card). Thanks all

        • +2

          ozbargain peer pressure

        • Great job! I've had TV's, washing machines, ovens, dishwasher all fixed past 5 years old with no warranty. You definitely don't need extended warranty. You just have to push a bit.

My crowning glory was when I got my gearbox replaced on a 10 year old car for free. I think I cried a bit that day.

          • @SKiZO: I think you've got the shine my friend!

        • -1

Haha dreaming mate, the discounts happen because of the warranty and if you drop warranty after the fact they put the price back up.

        • -2

Haha I think he is just saying it to get the ozb force off him…

    Very good deal. Thanks OP.
