I'm all for anything reasonable that gets people into astronomy but this is still too expensive even with the discounts.

Do yourself a favour. Download Stellarium for free. Then watch a Youtube tutorial on how to set up and use it.

+1 for Stellarium. Even more amazing if you hook up a projector!

      • …or a big screen TV! Just don't buy on especially for it or you won't be saving money.

More drivel about living off planet Earth even though that's impossible.

"If we were supposed to fly, we'd be born with rockets on our backs, and propellers on our heads" - people from the 19th century.
It's just a matter of technology catching up with our imagination. We will colonise other planets, it's the only possible long term outcome. The alternative is we die out on Earth, and I sincerely hope that doesn't happen. Life is too rare to squander.

If we are bound to die out on Earth, we’ll also find another place to die off on when our technology catches up with our imagination.

That's a bargain price for Uranus. Can't wait to play with it

  • "Don't pay $599.99"
Sheesh, and there I was, iust about to grab a few as stocking fillers.

  • Ok, I have had a terrible experience trying to follow up my order. The phone number on the website says on a recorded voice due to technical issues please email.

If you email you get no response. Many of the individual stores numbers are disconnected. Your online order gets allocated to a store anywhere in Australia and then they refer you to that interstate store who don’t answer their phone.

After 3 days finally got in contact and told I would get a refund in a few days. No money yet. Then told it was because of too many orders, even though I ordered Saturday morning they left it on sale until Monday. So it appears if the store your order gets allocated to doesn’t process your order in time then you will miss out and have to stuff around for a refund… if you get one. There is a reason they are not accepting pay pal or gift cards. This has dick smith written all over it… flash sale to try to get money… not enough to survive and then into liquidation. Nil returns, nil refunds and undelivered goods not refunded.

MY STRONG ADVICE IS TO AVOID ANY ONLINE ORDERS AND ONLY BUY IN STORE WHEN YOU HAVE THE PRODUCT IN YOUR HANDS!!! Good luck!!
