    Will Bunnings price match?

    • To save $2.80?

      • +5

        It's $2.80 hell yes

        • +1

You also get to screw a monopoly corp

          • @Suckerzpayretail: True, but Masters made themselves go bankrupt. Although they blame Bunnings, but their undoing was all because of themselves.

Instead of hiring DIY / Pro enthusiasts they hired a whole heap of salesman/women who only care about "commission".
I remember shopping at Masters and every single aisle there would be a staff who would ask you "oh what are you looking at, can i help you, let me write on that product with my employee number".

      • That pays for a sausage and a can on the way in. Absolutely.

    • As long as they don't check stock at JB and see it's sold out.

  • Thanks OP bought 2 sets.

Two orders within 15 mins the order number jumped almost 600.

For those one that needs a second set, use you computer to place one order and member via delivery and then use a phone to place second order as guest via CC.

    That's how I placed 2 orders.

Updated: My CC order is ready to pickup in Parramatta store after 5mins received the order confirmation email.

    • I had no issues placing 2 orders from same device and same account. Received pick-up confirmations for both orders.

  • Got one. Thanks op!

Please note that all bulbs included in starter kits are pre-paired to the hub within the kit. If you're buying this to bulk out your collection of Hue bulbs, you will need to unpair them from the hub before they will show up to be added to your existing hub.

The easiest way to do this is using any old Hue Dimmer Switch (if you have one).

    • +6

You don't need to unpair - just enter the bulb's serial number when you search with the new hub.

      • cheers!

  • Ordered via PayPal, received "Ready for pickup" within 5 minutes

  • Bargain, THANKS

  • no stock in nearby stores. so shipping then.

  • Bought one, to diversify, in case Xiaomi turns nasty with all the trade wars. Funny: the store I will pick up from isn't open for another 35 minutes and yet I already got my ready for pick-up.

  • Thanks OP - good start to the week.

  • This item is not available with this shipping option. Click and collect is out of stock in Sydney and Canberra. Darn, also out of stock for shipping. In store only now.

  • impulse bought
    $32.99 delivered, very happy

  • +1

    Looks like they pulled it

    • +1

I think I just got the last one delivered. very lucky

  • Out of stock in most places and it won't allow me to ship?

  • The status of an item in your cart has changed. An item in your cart is no longer available.

    Bummer.

  • OOS

  • Is this only one colour? or is it RGB?

  • oh man i had it in my cart then took too long.. all gone now

  • Only white and not RGB? Geez these things are unnecessarily expensive

    • Your paying for the bridge mostly.

  • Noice bargain, needed another hub… thanks!

    • What can you do with two that you can't do with one?

      • +1

        Build a bridge?

      • -1

You need two of them to replace 1x standard 23W 1600 lumen light bulb ($5 from woolies). These smart bulbs are only 800 lumens each.

Not very cost effective unless you buy Yeelights and smart up your house with Xiaomi products. Otherwise you will be paying 3-5x as much.

        • … They asked about the bridge.

      • 2x hubs is just for extending the # of devices connected. My WiFi is patchy in the back area's of my home, having been looking for a cheap 2nd hub so I can connect the lights in this patchy area to a second hub. If this works its a much better alternative than spending $$$ on some mesh WiFi system or some other internet/WiFi improvements.

  • Can anyone share the barcode for in-store redemption? Thanks

  • Doesnot allow c & c or delivery in Brisbane area. In store only

    • online site said there was some at chermside but i went there at lunch and there was only one that was behind the counter for someone else. store guy didn't know about the deal and thought it was strange so many people were asking about it…

    • +2

      Yep: 92003583081

      • Thanks so much mate! Got one :)

  • They called up that they ran out of stock. They're letting me wait until they have stock to pickup (no eta on that).
    I ordered at 11

  • Other products out there do not use a bridge, the bridge requires power and an ethernet port? Seems like an extra piece of hardware that is not necessary. I'll stick to the Mirabella Genio wifi bulbs @$15 each.

    • +5

The hubs necessary because they use zigbee instead of wifi which is a much better protocol for home automation devices, in particular as it scales to more devices the performance improves unlike wifi where your network gets congested and can degrade.

      • +1

this is why I'm moving from my Yeelights over to Philips for this reason. It's either taking the 50-passenger bus or 50 cars.

    • The Philips Hue Bridge is a poorly designed product.
It does not support PoE natively, which means you'll need to muck around with a PoE splitter & Input/output Voltage.
Ideally, it should also have a secondary Ethernet Port in Bridged-mode to support an additional Ethernet device such as a network printer or WiFi access point/repeater.
Perhaps Philips will do better with its next release.

      • It does not support PoE natively, which means you'll need to muck around with a PoE splitter & Input/output Voltage

You can just plug it into a power socket with the included cable. The vast majority of people buying this won’t have PoE gear or have their router in a rack or anything that’d make placement of the hub next to a router overly difficult.

PoE would be nice but it’s a pretty niche use case and I can see why they omitted it.

Lucky Perth is a few hours behind. Got 2 at the store. Lady was nice to scan it over two transactions!

I posted this bargain and thought I'd go in store during lunch to get it.
So I go in store (JBHIFI DFO South Wharf) and the guy said they had sold out in half an hour… and it's mostly sold out everywhere.
    :'(

    Rookie mistake.

I’ll chip in $5 for u to get one full price. Appreciate you trying to help ! I couldn’t nab one either

    • did you get one in the end?

South Wharf still showing stock online & so is Melb Central

  • +1

All Perth CBD stores are sold out. Outer suburbs had more-ish stock on the system. Felt bad for the counter staff - answered close to 10 calls on this deal in 10 minutes.

  • Can't get it online. Can't go out to the store today and if I could it sounds like I'd be disappointed.

If this was the regular price I might be interested. Pretty lights are obviously a much higher priority to people than to this cheapskate.

  • Just need Amazon to have another discount on the globes and other components
    i.e. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/500666

hint hint Amazon this is where you step in

  • All Sydney city stores no stock. Galleries showed stock online but they’ve all gone. Broadway had 2 avail in the system two hours ago but they’d def be gone by now!!

  • Just about everything gone in Melbourne. Website still says stock but they are all gone. Guy said, slight possibility at Brighton, best to call and ask and see if they will hold.

  • Apparently you need the barcode to scan in store and collect? I've been told the codes are unique. Can someone please send me the email?
