20% off All Coffee Beans + Delivery ($0 WA & VIC Pickup) @ Five Senses Coffee

So the other night I posted a coupon for a free bag of coffee from Five Senses Coffee (see original deal here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/504614) and these guys were inundated with orders. Whilst they were slammed and their site went down a few times, they roasted beans through the night and honoured every order. And now they've created a special discount for Ozbargain for those who missed out, for 20% off all coffee beans. Huge shoutout to Five Senses Coffee for their great service, attitude and sense of humour (they've named the coupon after me!).
I've been enjoying my beans that arrived in just two days. Enjoy all!

  • Awesome thanks. I've got a bag that was unfortunately a limited release and it was the best coffee I've ever had. Guess I'll have to buy a few bags to find something similar

    • What beans did you get? Perhaps they are seasonal. I'm always keen to hear about coffee that someone calls the best they've ever had.

      • +3

They called it 'kipenzi'. Had loads of flavour and would just drink it black. Can't say I've tried loads of different beans so take my claim with a grain of salt haha. But it was a taste I hadn't experienced before.

        • Awesome!

        • 5Senses have a whole bunch of different blends and they'll come and go.
So, keep an eye out… it's bound to be back on offer again soon.

          • @SomeRandom: Sounds like he got a single origin, those are generally limited in supply. Even year to year you'll get variation in flavour from similar farms.

I got one of the free bags the other day and it's really nice coffee, this new deal is super tempting

  • I bought the trust the process set but it's a shame I couldn't add any other coffee after adding that set for some reason…

    • Strange - did the coupon work on it? Says "No discounts applicable on this product."

      The set looks amazing though.

      • Uh oh I didn't see that but my transaction went through, the code worked. I think it's to take the sting off shipping to other states.

      • For me, the code doesn't work for this item (trust the process), unfortunately… It's $73.40 with delivery fee… My beans are almost over so I will check my options…

Absolute class by Five Senses! Got my freebie this morning! I felt a little bit guilty ordering that free bag while they were getting hammered by us, but they handled the influx of orders well and the coffee is excellent! Cheers guys!

I got mine from the last deal. Made one coffee and it was very good. I was thinking of buying 500g from the same beans (darkhorse) and now I found this deal yay. Thanks op

So for the guys getting new customers it’s ok for a crappy price deal like this to feed em lol ?
50% off a fair price point by the way :)

    • Have you really tried their beans? Definitely worth it even at full price. I’m quite happy with 20% off.

  • Not sure which ground to choose for a quicky lol

    • +2

I thought they just sold whole beans?

      • There are many different ground types i see.

        • You're right. Nice of them to offer that!

  • +2

Recieved my free 250g sample from the just pay postage deal. Beans were roasted on the day they were posted. Amazing.

Going to be controversial for the coffee lovers, but when I can get acceptable beans from aldi for like 13 bucks a kg, it's hard to convince myself than 4x the price is a bargain

(Plus if they were amazing, I'd then be stuck spending 4x the price a kg ;) )

    • +10

I'm really glad ALDI beans are acceptable to your taste, but you mustn't actually like coffee that much to come to that conclusion, surely?

I have tried the red and black bag from ALDI, and I got 5 cups in and ditched the beans in the bin, same with every other supermarket bean I've tried (ALDI definitely the best of that bunch though).

Only beans I touch are locally roasted from my local cafe, or Pablo and Rusty's or these guys. Everything else just doesn't cut it. Happy to pay for it too, despite being a cheapskate with most other things.

      • +1

        Maybe.
I'm sure they aren't amazing, but they get well rated by non coffee snob forum types ;)

They are pretty fresh, roasted in Melbourne and from memory have won a few generic awards.

        • +1

Yeah.. When I heard about the Aldi beans winning awards I immediately went out and bought a bag.

It's OK… much better than the other supermarket offerings.
For me, the only two issues are:
          1) They are quite obviously roasted a while ago
          2) They are dark roast (which is fine for espresso)

Aldi are still pretty decent value for what you're getting.
But in a cold brew or filter taste test, the difference is extremely obvious.

          P.S.
Good Point about the stuck with the 4x price… it's hard to go back. :(

          • @SomeRandom: Yeah..all my coffees are essentially lattes, so likely the taste difference is also reduced.

            • +1

              @SBOB: Definitely!
I think the Aldi beans would be good value for that.

        • +1

I agree with you . For the price I've found the Aldi coffee beans are great value. I'm not that discerning I guess, but good enough for me in lattes.

    • +1

The coffee snobs here have taught me well with especially the freshly roasted coffee beans .
There has been plenty of decent deals for them here at OZB unfortunately this is not one of them .

    • Aldi isn't everywhere and they certainly don't sell online.

      • That is indeed true…

        • So I haven't been lucky enough to see how good their beans are 😉

    • Having tried Aldi beans and freshly roasted beans, there's no comparison. I would rather sell my espresso machine if I had to resort to Aldi beans.

    • +1

Harris beans I find are good (at Coles/Woolies). Full price 17/kg. Often on sale.
Bit hard to justify 40/kg when those are acceptable.

No one be guessin' that code!

Got the Hi Fidelity from the previous deal and made cold brew. Probably not it's intended use, but came out tasting great.

  • +1

Been buying beans from these guys for quite a while now. I consider myself a bit of a coffee snob and I'm and yet to find better beans.

Would recommend the dark horse. Really can't go wrong.

Otherwise, the 'cleanskin' beans are always good for a bit of variety and a (relative) bargain!

    • Which ground coffee would you recommend? Thanks

      • +1

I buy whole beans and grind them at home, so hard to comment on their ground coffee. I think the dark horse is probably my favourite. It's really good as an espresso.

It looks like there are also ground options for the dark horse depending on how you make your coffee (espresso, perculator etc).

This company is my ex wife's cousin lol. Top bloke and a +1 for him bringing his coffee machine to Christmas lunch and making us all coffees.

    • Your ex wife's cousin is a company?

    • And you still left? :(

      • Maybe she didn't like coffee

  • +5

So impressed with the service from this company!

    • Same, impressive that they could achieve what an Australian Roaster of the Year couldn't do!

  • +4

Couldn't believe my order arrived so quickly from the last deal. What amazing service. Buying another to support a top company. Thanks OP and the crew at Five Senses!

These guys are great to deal with & roast some seriously good coffee. Love the speedy delivery of very freshly roasted beans, and postage cost to MELBOURNE $7.70 is pretty reasonable.

Ordered a Kg to help survive the silly season with, just under $50: thnx OP!!

  • I'm getting $7.70 for WA postage for 750gm total order for some reason?

  • will wait for boxing day sale, 70% off like previous deal!

  • +2

Wow, 20% off and they are still $40/kg. You are paying way too much at this price. If you are in Melbourne, check out Bennetti Coffee in Mulgrave. You can buy direct from the roaster at $20/kg. I've been buying these beans for many years. Much better than Aldi beans. You can also try Sirius Coffee @24/kg.

    • +1

Do they do delivery? sounds great!

      • Sirius coffee does delivery, just check out their website. I think Bennetti will deliver, but you would need to buy several kg to make it worth it. They cater primarily for cafes and commercial quantities.

    • +3

Most speciality coffee is around this price. I haven't tried five senses but that price isn't unusual.

  • Thanks for the code mate, just bought a 1Kg bag!

  • Outstanding Coffee and service. Tried Compton Rd from the previous deal. So smooth and full bodied. Easily one of the best beans I’ve had so far. Like how they even suggest the recipe for each of their beans/ blends eg: In: 22g, Out: 44g, Time: 29sec, Temp: 94.5°C. I feel it just minimises any wastage.

  • +1

Im gutted i missed out on the 250g deal. The comments and feedback make this tempting, but do feel even with the 20% they are pricey. Personally I've been using Manna beans which do 4 x 480g for around $60.

Might splash the coffee cash though!

    • +2

These are much better than the mannas in my opinion

  • Any boxing day deal rep?
