Survey offer is expired. I included a reminder in the OP as the deal was posted over two weeks ago and some may have already forgotten about it.

Yes, I forgot about it, but have the $5 voucher now, thanks for the reminder. :)

If it is Bluetooth only, you would need to have a phone or hub within 10 meters of each device. Is there a Wifi version?

    • apparently you need to buy one of their other devices that acts as a gateway

e.g. their lamp which does BT and wifi

so it will pickup the BT from all the bt sensors around ur home and then broadcast it over wifi to your mijia app for updates and automation

just forcing you to buy another gateway instead of using zigbee

      annoying

What does it means by Bluetooth, so this will not work if I am not at home? (My phone goes with me) can it just read the temp and humidity alone?

And what else or just those 2 reading?

The mijia version (round) is better, use AAA battery

wonder if these can be paired with esphome to interface with home assistant?

    https://esphome.io/components/sensor/xiaomi_lywsdcgq.html

    • Home assistant integration was my first thought too… Seems like a great if so.

    • I don't think anyone has figured out how to parse the BLE packets that get broadcast yet (some discussion here), but I'm hoping this will be possible in the future.
