Add Ring Video Doorbell Pro to cart. A pop-up window should appear which will give you the option to select an Echo Show 5 and an Echo Dot (3rd Gen). You don't have to buy the Echo Dot if you don't need it, in which case, don't tick the box for it. You can also select the Echo Show by first ticking the box underneath the Add To Cart section (before clicking on Add To Cart). Ensure that the colour of your Echo Show 5 and/ or Echo Dot are to your liking. If they are not, search for them separately, and add to cart. Input code RINGECHO in the Gift Cards & Promotional Codes bar on the final Checkout page (it is the page which has the Place Order button).

Reviews don't mention anything about lagging, as they do for the Ring Doorbell 2.

The Pro version comes with Chime Pro, which provides an interior chimer that the Doorbell 2 lacks (from what I can tell), giving you a handy old-fashioned "notification" and aesthetic.

  • Normal price?

    • +1

Sorry, not sure as the Echo Show is currently reduced.

    • Ring Pro normal price is $299

      • Ring Pro is normally $399 with the chime pro

  • Might want to read We Tested Ring’s Security. It’s Awful and comments in very similar deal before ordering.

So basically you create an account to access the cameras. The account can be set up with 2 factor authentication but people are choosing not to and reusing hacked passwords? Amazon aren’t tracking and alerting you when the cameras are logged in with unknown IP addresses but it still seems to be a bit of user error as well.

      • SMS 2FA which is the most unsecure type.

      • +1

Amazon should do better with warning from new devices but still this is 100% on people failing basic internet security. You would not get 100 copies of
your house keys cut, put your name and address on a tag on each key, then leave one everywhere you go. Yet that is basically what people do when reusing their email and password on 3rd party sites..

        • +1

Yep. Definitely agree amazon is doing a piss poor effort on security here but those cases are just basic user error.

    • +3

Not that worried about people seeing my front door. A lot different if the camera was in my home.

      • Technically you shouldn't have/need any Camara inside your house.

        • That's what she said?

  • This vs eufy doorbell ?

    • End Uf Financial Year?

    • Eufy is better image quality (1440p vs 1080p) and does not require subscription. However Eufy does not have battery and very limited local storage (4GB built-in with no SD Card option).

I got one of these in the previous Ebay deal, not really wanting one as i had read a lot of the bad comments. However now i've set it up i must say it works really well, exactly as intended. There's no delay at all for us, and the camera has a clear image day and night. It's also looks better than the Ring 1 and 2 as it's smaller. I didn't want a door bell that only rang on my phone, but this has the chime pro included which is great. Have to say i'd recommend this product at this price. Just my mini review.

    • Was yours hardwired or battery powered?

      • +1

All the pros are hardwired. The pro gear is good the non pro stuff is sh*t. I have three door bells, two spotlights and a stick up cam ver 2. All very good
The non pro stuff was junk i ended up taking back.

  • How much does it cost to wire the doorbell?

    • It is just a power plug pack with 2x wires that lock onto the back with a couple of screws. Depending on your location it has potential to be an easy diy install. I'm not sure of the legalities of cabling it yourself but I think that is what ring intend

    • Ring Pro includes a power adaptor with approximately 6 metres length of wire.
