Bose Soundbar 700 Black $803 + Delivery @ Videopro eBay

110
PLATEAU

For those looking for a soundbar to go with their TV, this is an excellent deal. About 30% off the RRP or 15% off the sale price. Price is also not that far off the refurbished price of $800 posted on the Bose website. Videopro is a authorised Bose dealer for those who are concerned about warranty.

Please note that Bose stores will price match Amazon.com.au (as Amazon are an authorised dealer for Bose). Could just be a strategic waiting game for it to go cheaper during the boxing day sales period.

Can be combined with the Bose 500 bass module (

  • Not taking into account the price, which would be recommended between this Bose and Yamaha YSP-2700?

    • If you're not buying anything else, the Yamaha will sound better since the Bose doesn't come with a subwoofer.

The Bose has both an optional subwoofer and wireless surround speakers - sold separately - and if you get all that then it would likely sound better, but at double the price. Soundbar-only virtual surround sound from bouncing audio off walls is hocum, in my opinion.

The Bose has more features like a Google/Alexa voice assistant and NFC for quick bluetooth tap-pairing people's mobile if that's something you'd use. And if you're expanding, they'll have more products to expand a multi-room setup.

I have a similar Bose soundbar and the glass top looks pretty snazzy.

  • What are the reviews like for this?

I have the soundbar + sub + 2 x surround speakers. I think all up was about $1700. And then I also bought the floor stands, which are very cool.

Is this overpriced? Yes it is, because it's Bose. But it looks very nice. The YSP-2700 gives more bang for the buck though.

Does it sound great? Yes it does. It's actually very decent considering no sub. I used the soundbar without my sub for a while when I had to send the sub for repairs (see below).

How is the setup? With just the soundbar, it is pretty easy. You just click through the app. With the sub it is a nightmare unless you google and find the solution hidden away in a very long thread of dissatisfied customers. There are issues with their algorithm for setting up the speakers, which made the sub very soft.

Customer service is great. I've had two return the sub and one of the power brick for the surround speakers and it was pretty easy. I requested a new sub and they actually sent me a brand new one (with full packaging and accessories) not a refurbished. Although that says something about their QC maybe.

  • I had this without the sub for a while and was disappointed for the money. I went with the Samsung MS750 and sub combo and the soundbar on its own blows this away.

The big benefit of the Bose is that it's low profile.

Combining it with this would be a good deal even though the sub is the model below.
