Nintendo 3DS $198 at JB Hi-Fi

350

Spoke to someone in JB Hi-Fi this evening who said they will be selling the 3DS for $198 until Sunday.

I know it's only $1 cheaper than DSE but I guess it's good for anyone who is close to a JB but not a DSE.

Is this advertised? or did you just chat with someone?

    • Had a chat with a staff member. He said it starts tomorrow so I guess that's won't be advertised yet.

Wow look at the 3DS catalog… 3D Dinosaurs, 3D pet simulators, The Sims… no wonder there was a price drop.

    I'd rather DSE because
    1. At least 149 everyday reward points
    2. No AMEX surcharge (more reward points)

    • +3

Plus 14 day change of mind policy

plus you order today get it tomorrow.

      • Plus staff discount!!!…? Lol

        • +1

Plus: Staff Discount ( Gift Voucher ( Staff Discount ( Gift Voucher ( Staff Discount ( Gift Voucher ( ITEM ))))))

woah sturmeh, heavy circular discount nesting that's 3 levels deep? what do you think this is? Inception :P

        • @Sturmeh Does that actually work? Everywhere I've worked, either the staff discount didn't apply when you purchased gift cards, or it didn't apply when you were spending gift cards.

Those 300 odd points are probably worth about $1.50 to $2.00 so you'll come out ahead. Just. Every cent counts on OZB :)

    • lol im in Qantas FF points game too, WW rewards + AMEX = Max

  • Probably better to go to JB than DSE if you wanna check out the 3DS games.
JB seem to have a bigger range + lowest prices.

    • theres no games on 3DS so what you talking about lol

      • I got Zelda OOT and Naruto Shippuden. What do you mean no games >.<!

      • funny man. 25 games or so is none aye

It doesn't really matter how far from DSE you are; the 3DS has free postage from the DSE online store! :)

    • It does… if you don't have a postbox or physical address (like me).

Nintendo 3DS: the gaming console of choice for nomads.

      • Just use someone else's house and offer to mow the lawn for them at the time it's delivered. :D

        • Mowing the lawn is worth at least $50, maybe much more if its a big lawn. Neg.

It's called borrowing a trusted relative's address. My grandpa was so confused when he was getting all these ebay parcels sent to his house, lol.

  • $198 is it with the game or just the console? EB games sell it for $249 with 1 game also start tomorrow, look like everyone selling it for $200 range now.

    • Games are only ~$40 with free delivery from OzGameShop. Not worth it

For those unable to navigate the seemingly impossibly stupid store:
    3DS Console (Black) @ 198: https://www.jbhifionline.com.au/default.aspx?T=73&P=651414

    Also an interesting product:
    3DS Zelda + Guide Bundle @ 59: https://www.jbhifionline.com.au/default.aspx?T=10834&P=65103…

Wouldn't normally post that crap, but considering they are selling this for the SAME PRICE as the game by itself, why not pickup a free guide? Not just a free guide, but one they value at $33 just below:
    3DS Zelda @ 59: http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/game/3ds/zelda-ocarina-of-tim…
    Zelda Guide @ 33: http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/game/3ds/zelda-ocarina-of-tim…

Probably a mistake? Get in quick.

    • Weird… the DS is now at $239?

    • For those unable to navigate the seemingly impossibly stupid store:
      3DS Console (Black) @ 198: https://www.jbhifionline.com.au/default.aspx?T=73&P=651414

It now shows the price as $239. Will mark this post as expired.

I popped into JB this morning and they had the console standalone at $239. I price matched them courtesy of the DSE post on OzBargain (they didn't even bother contacting DSE for that matter). The salesperson who served me threw in the accessories pack free of charge regardless, much to my surprise. To top it off, I purchased 3DS Zelda for the advertised price but I too also noticed the discrepancy between buying the 3DS Zelda + Guide Bundle as opposed to purchasing them separately as indicated on the website. The salesperson was going to sell me the guide separately for $10 but after I mentioned the bundle, he walked in the storeroom for a moment, I assume to clarify this and when he came out acknowledged this and gave me the guide for free.

Hope other OzBargainers got it as well :)
