Pretty good deal for a streak 7. Nice little tablet for the price. Was previously $370 on Amazon. Have been looking at it for quite a while, reduced by $100, pretty good considering the price. Has a nVidia Tegra Dual Core @ 1ghz

    (800 x 480 pixels)

Its way too low, at any price. You want 1024x600 as a bare minimum on a 7"er, even then its not quite enough in real life usage.

The whole point of a tablet is that it gives a better browsing experience that a smart phone. This is just a smartphone with giant pixels.

Damn I'm in a bad mood today, must be that time of the month.

    • Not to mention battery life is quite bad, 4hours IIRC…

my bads, its 3:26 according to engadget.

    • i believe it does not have phone capabilities, just pure wifi
yes battery life suck, i was thinking of getting it a month ago, but after some review decided its not worth it, the other tablets like ASUS is dropping so quickly its worth paying $100 more just for bigger screen and better battery life

Thanks for the input stumo. I posted this 'cause it seemed to be a good deal. Find me something better for $300 that has a Dual Core 1ghz processor.

You do make a good point with the res though.

I think that was the whole point. Its not about the price, it could be $100, it could have a quad core CPU, it could print money… But as a tablet, its still going to suck because of that that low res screen.

But by all means, try it and see for yourself, you might be ok with it. I'm just speaking from Nook Color (1024x600) experience. Its still not quite enough for the full web.

If it could print money, i couldn't care less about the screen resolution :)

The prints money part was it was a reference to this…

Hmmm, I think a lot of MyTab owners would beg to differ on that one dude! :p

They might beg to differ if they could see the comments this far over. They probably think there's only one comment posted on most deals.

I have a MyTab. It is indeed great at $99. eBooks are quite readable, games look fine, the web works (maybe I just don't go to the websites that need high res? I assume you mean pr0n? why would I use a tablet for that when I have a 50" tv and an unlimited adsl connection?).

Oh and it has a sim card slot and i still have plenty of downloads and time left on the 3 month 3gb that it came with….

For a $280 tablet though that does indeed have the grunt to do some more serious flash and/or gaming, then yeah, I'd probably expect higher than 800x480.

      • It is a good deal, thanks for posting.

The only thing with all the Android tablets is when and how far they are going to drop. If you can get a netbook for $238 then even a Tegra 2 7" should be possible to get for $150. Perhaps not this year, but probably next.

Of course you can wait for ever, but surely when Kal-El starts shipping the current generation are going to drop like a stone.

      • @stumo, lulz…good call dude!

[edit] Oops, replied to wrong level of thread, I think my brain needs more res! :)

        • 800x480 not enough res for your brain? ;)

    • How come you guys are so nice - its DELL branded by the way!

  • Yep, just Wi-Fi. But for phone capabilities you'll need the 4G - http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Streak-Android-Tablet-T-Mobile/dp…
